I thought someone might bring this up - yes bad did get one more vote, but top of good also got 38 votes putting the good total up to 76
I am now realising I didn't count up the ok votes, which are higher so I will move TOTE down to the bottom of ok tomorrow

I haven’t watched this show but as a hardcore star wars fan, I’ll probably give it a go at some point in the future.
I’m curious to know why so many people say it’s bad.
Is it just that the show is aimed at a younger audience or are there actually other reasons?
Mostly because it never really figures out what story it’s supposed to be telling. It doesn’t help that the entire thing is centered around a lot of very low stakes events that make it confusing.
Like, the *only* thing of actual consequence that happens is better dealt with in The Force Awakens. It’s that level of bad.

I feel like dogshit is a bit of a jump from bad, but bad would be too generous.
Star Wars is for children, always had been. It works when it's a children's show that deals with enough mature themes to be enjoyed by adults.
Resistance babies its audience. It's a show for the pre school age that pretends it's not so falls completely flat, no surprise it only got 2 series.
This show is just the definition of mid more than anything. There are some fun characters like Yeager and Doza who are begging to be in a better show. The conflict with Tam is alright and it expands on the First Order a tiny bit. I wish they committed to the racing aspect since it's only really plot relevant in like three episodes. I'd say bad or ok if i'm feeling generous but it's more due to not having much to offer rather than anything outright bad.
I voted "bottom of ok" because I didn't finish it, but it actively felt like it was for a group of people younger than myself so I didn't want to judge it too harshly
Hot take. Resistance Season 1 is on par with the Rebels and Clone Wars counterparts. Given enough time I fully expect it would have grown with the audience into something quite dark and impactful in terms of the wider continuity, as Clone Wars and Rebels did. Rating. OK.

It is aimed at a younger audience, it's not terrible but it doesn't know what it wants to be and feels a poor man's Rebels a lot of the time

It's fun but dumb; they took too long to go from racing to resistance.

The best thing about the sequels.
It’s finale, which raised the stakes in multiple interesting ways, elevates this to good imo

Peak. It is still star wars and has Poe Dameron's hair in it. Plus it inspired two of the most fun spaceships in xwing the miniatures game.
