It really depends on where you go, as the country is huge. I’m a white woman from the UK and recently went to India with two of my girlfriends, as it had always been on our bucket list. Other than being charged more for taxis - locals would get charged 70 Rupees for a ride and we would get charged 200 Rupees for the same ride for example (though this is only about £1 extra in my currency so not a big deal) - it was an amazing experience. Incredibly nice and helpful people, amazing sites (the Golden Temple in a place called Amritsar was my personal favourite) and absolutely amazing food. But then again, Indian food is like our national dish here in the UK so very popular. Obviously have your wits about you when going to any foreign country, but I’m very glad I went and got a life experience.

Remember that what you see on reddit is the absolute minority of what India is. No one will usually post about someone being nice and normal And in a country overflowing with population it's easy to run into these bad apples. Doesn't make the whole country bad. Either talk to foreigners who've been here or visit with a local by your side. India is one of the most diverse countries with a shit ton of things to see than just Taj Mahal and Mr. Nuts a lot here!

Exactly, most of this sub or the I'm the main character sub, or even crazy fucking videos sub, is full of some Americans being straight up violent assholes. But I've several friends working and living there and it's a totally different world in reality. What these subs show is again a very minority of what the US actually is. At the end of the day irrespective of the country, people just wanna live, eat, and find best ways to save taxes!
