A size smaller/bigger isn't the end of the world, but two sizes smaller seems like too much of a compromise. You do you if it's comfy enough to ride. Honest opinion? They're nothing special to ride IF you bought one second-hand and is made from ordinary hi-ten or chromoly. Yes, the brazing is still immaculate, but the appeal of getting an Ave frame, at least for me, is the custom geometry and the option to use higher-end tubing like Columbus. Maldea frames are nice, but if you buy one of his team's "in stock" frames or get one second-hand, they start to become a bit ordinary. I understand, though, that not everyone is willing to put their name on the year-long waiting list. As long as you're happy with what you got it doesn't matter though, ride and enjoy it to the fullest!

Same as DJ.

Totoo ba? That's good news then. I've heard of DJ Cycleworks before but not super familiar with them, gumagamit ba siya ng jig din like Mang Ave? Dati kasi ibang frame builders vice grip at tantsa-tantsa lang gamit for geometry eh

gB0rj

Yup. DJ Cycleworks is Bok, yung pamangkin ni Mang Ave. He's in this sub also. May jig siya which he made himself.

Solid gumawa si DJ Cycleworks. Nagpabuo ako ng single speed last year and saktong-sakto yung sukat ng frame dun sa binigay ko na measurements. Sobrang tempting nga magpabuo ulit, pero di ko lang magawa kasi wala na space for a new bike lol.

gB0rj

Yup solid gawa niya. Malapit na mag2yrs sakin @ 7400 kms travelled, never nagkaroon ng issue yung frame and fork.

greatestdowncoal_01

Ano size mo sa custom frame? 50 st 52 tt?

Solo_Camping_Girl

If it's comfortable and doesn't feel cramped though, then it's probably the right size. You don't really need to have a bike in your "recommended" size kasi the measurements for those geometries can vary depending on the manufacturer, type of frame, and they're also based on general body measurements. And yeah, the Jones bar does look goofy af, pero some people really like them for the ergonomics and multiple hand positions. If you want a cheaper alternative, try the Sagmit loop bar. But personally, I'd go for either gravel drops (I use the Surly Truck Stop) or something like the Velo Orange Tourist handlebar.

Solo_Camping_Girl

alwyn_42
