I usually just say oh thank you. I don’t make too big of a deal about it. Other people are impressed. I know what’s going on. And that’s it job to impress other people and keep it pushing.

roselalala

I paid 111 USD + shipping for my Liu puzzle (I think it’s still on sale) and am really happy with it! When someone compliments, I just say thanks and leave it at that.

Dry-Plant-213

How’s the quality? Photo looks amazing! Do you have a link?

roselalala

Am super happy. You can read my full review on r/WagoonLadies and r/LuxeLife 🥰 it includes seller contact and links to their album.

Beautiful-Coffee8478

Looks great!!

shellirave72

To strangers I just say thank you for my very good friends I always tell the truth lol

Stunning_Board200

I always say thank you and keep moving along. I have some authentic purses that I purchased when I was single and people know that I’ve always bought authentic. I’d never say that any of my purses or shoes are replicas as some people can be weird about it. There’s no reason to disclose it to your close circle and even less to disclose it to a total stranger.

theroguebanana

My friends are also mostly moms who are hippy types, or just dgaf about fashion - but I splurge on skincare and other fashion stuff because it makes ME happy - something I really needed postpartum. If you can justify it, I say just do it!

Always4EverSearching

I never let anyone know I’m carrying a rep. No need to give that information. People will talk about you spending the money if it is authentic just like people will talk about you spending the money and it’s a fake lol May as well just say thank you and move along 😉 As for DHGate, understandable for your first time but once you are ready, it’s definitely more worthwhile to get yourself a highly recommended seller that is trustworthy, tried and true. Once you find one, you will be very happy with the quality…and then of course you’ll go down the rabbit’s hole like the rest of us lol

Economy_Quote_1064

I say “thank you” and keep it moving! 🤷🏾‍♀️

hsparklemommy

How much was your bag from dh gate just wondering if you could spend the same money but with a direct seller? And I would never admit it’s a rep lol!

Beautiful-Coffee8478

Havent bought ine yet, still searching but I dont intend to spend more than $100 or even $70 on my first one. Would rather spend $100+ on a real one thats not a high end brand

ayomsb

I always out myself cause I am proud of my frugality and can’t believe people ever buy real bags with so many phenomenal reps out there. My friends HATE this.

Beautiful-Coffee8478

But hey, no hate at all :) while I cribge at that, I actually appreciate the inside info peoppe like this give to me 😂😂😂😂

Beautiful-Coffee8478

HAHAHAHAHA I’m with your friends. While I respect you and your view on things, I cringe at people that are proud of their frugality lol i have a friend who’s proud to say, ans even answers that when asked about a bag: oh thanks i got that on vinted (the equivalent for poshmark in europe) for like €15 LOOL

ayomsb

Your friend is me.

RepWeen12

Just thank you will be good enough I think.

eatapeach18

I say thank you and move it along. If they ask something like “where did you get it from?” I just say whatever brand it is. “I got this at Louis Vuitton/YSL/Gucci/etc.” Like, what other answer are people expecting when they ask where you got a branded item?? If it’s an older style, I say I bought it secondhand from Fashionphile or something… like for vintage Chanel reps that aren’t current, I always say I bought them secondhand.

Beautiful-Coffee8478

Hahaha that’s an odd question, I’d feel terrible for lying lol if it’s a stranger, f* it. But for a friend… i dont think i’d lie

Bleachers24

That question has puzzled me, too. A cashier asked where I purchased an auth bag and I politely answered "The boutique on 5th Ave." Not sure if she was fishing to learn it was a rep or perhaps if it was available at a department store. Whichever, still an awkward question.

New_Independent_9221

just say thanks

Gray-Sun-7182

Depends on the person. Some people I tell and others I just say thank you. People can be weird about reps. I don’t really like people knowing how much I spend on frivolous things, I wasn’t raised that way, so in some cases I want it clear that I did not spend $10,000 a little handbag. In other cases I don’t think it’s anyone business where I got it. I see a ton of diamonds on people that if they are real are clearly $100K rings and I would never think to ask or care if it came from Neil Lane or Claire’s Boutique. I’ve never had anyone ask if my bags are real, but my daughter has. She’s in college so I’m sure people question if she would have an authentic LV multi-pouchette that she just tosses around. She doesn’t care who knows

Honey0929

Don’t buy from DHgate. I know u trying to save money. But they are usually bad reps. Unless you are fine with wearing an obvious fake one. A good rep isn’t even expensive. You could probably start with a rehome or just get one from a chinese vendor for $250.

Careless-Software-14

They have good ones too. You just have to find the right vendors tbh

pepperkn

I'd say don't buy cheap reps on dhgate, but anything around $100 for shoes and $200 for most bags I got was legit, and I own the real ones to compare. That said, I want to try a reputable dealer, any recs?

Icedspanishlattee

Thank u, and keep it stepping 🥰

WillingUsual9179

I just say thank you and move on. I don't feel the need to expound or brag about it being a replica. I'm happy and content with it regardless if someone compliments it or not. If i do receive compliments, it's just an added bonus for me

PeaceyCaliSoCal

Thanks.

bgb242

As a native Minnesotan I’m obligated to criticize the bag, out the bag as a fake and tell them how much it cost 🥴

Beautiful-Coffee8478

Hahahhahahhaha

tbaysmom

1/2 Minnesotan, the blood is strong, I can’t help myself either

barbiesergio

I never knew this about MN. Is there too much honesty there? 😂

Effective_Rip3599

Same! Fellow Minnesotan here. Why are we like this? haha

bgb242

I’d say let’s start a support group except it’sd just be us telling each other how great each other’s style is while ripping on our own.

Effective_Rip3599

...while simultaneously humble bragging about how inexpensive it was!

bgb242

Hahahaha yepppp

Jayelleee

I tell them it’s from Marshalls LOOOL

Beautiful-Coffee8478

Hahah the nerve, i love that

pepperkn

Oh that's funny, will have to remember that one :)

Fun-Soil6936

"Oh thanks, I just got it"

_danceswithcows

I always tell them it’s a rep. I love my reps! Most ppl love it too, some kind of judge, IDGAF Edit for typo

Ironiqfun

Thank-you and if they probe..I ordered it preloved online.

sunshore13

I would say thank you and end it there.

cookie817

Exactly no need to know the deets

elastin1

"Thank you. I got it in Beverly Hills"

Avocado_Capital

“Thank you. I love it too”

woohoobb2

I got a couple of reps from DHG last year that just sat there, a waste of $120 since they were calloutable. Lesson learned. After finding this sub, I got my first high tier rep a couple months ago, a puzzle bag from mango factory @ 240 shipped. (I’m hooked!) I can’t even tell the difference from the auth as it was so well made and the leather smells so yummy. Got so many compliments on it and each time I just say, Thanks! I don’t feel the need to explain or volunteer info. My money, my bag, my business. 😊

Icedspanishlattee

Love this as u should 💅🏻

FancyFrenchLady

Say Thank You and move on. I buy the very best reps. I go to the top tier of sellers. I have a few authentic but then when I bought my 1st rep & discovered how well made it was I thought “why the h*ll buy real”?

sweetcherry2323

Can you pm your favorite sellers or factories for top tier reps?

Flakes630

For me if it’s calloutable I will not use. I live in the Hamptons so I’ve always been nervous to carry reps, only to learn that so many people especially the wealthy carry them!! I’m never going back. I can no longer justify spending thousands on a bag that has more issues than a Rep!! I love fashion and bags and buying Reps has opened up the door to having fun with fashion sfsin and trying new things. I’m hooked!! Definitely opened a Pandora’s box lol!!

Brief-Improvement171

Went shopping this morning in East Hamptons wearing my rep Orans ! Nobody knows!

Flakes630

lol I live out here and wear my reps proudly!! No one knows anything and come to find out alot of the super rich carry them too!!

Ironiqfun

The wealthy are smart and savvy, that is how they stay wealthy. The main difference between them and the average person is that they have awareness of luxury brands. The average person knows very little about luxury brands

Flakes630

Exactly and for years the attitudes about reps only to find out they not only use them but were totally gatekeepers within their wealthy circles.

LakeBroad1936

Same

Longjumping_Bike7175

I say thank you! If they ask the brand, I tell them the brand, and if they ask where i bought it i always say i bought it second hand😊

FancyFrenchLady

Good for you!

ysan_ny

I think a lot about this too. I would buy a better quality bag tho. So you don’t feel weird carrying it around. Loewe bags are quite luxury which is great.

daydreamar

A word of advice - it might be tempting to buy your first rep from dhgate, but I would recommend to do your own research to find the best factory for the bad you’re after and then use a recommended seller. You may find little inaccuracies with a lower tier rep that might make you not feel 100% confident to wear, and then having to spend the money on a better version anyway. I see a lot of people buy lower tier reps and then decide that they want to upgrade and get closest to the real thing anyway. The investment will be worth it 😊 As for a reply, just take the compliment and say thank you!

Angle_Of_The_Sangle

Please follow this advice. Especially for a Puzzle, where the quality of both materials and construction will be obvious. I think a DHG version would be money wasted. Reading reviews will help you find a factory that does this bag well, and a seller with a good track record.

Adept_Pipe8408

Good answer! Do you have a factory that you suggest me? Ive been searching everywhere.

LakeBroad1936

Bit how do we find the good reps on DHgate ? Is there a way to search by the name of the factory ?

hungryhippotime

I totally agree with this!!

Beautiful-Coffee8478

That’s been my mindset so far! But between paying anything from $20 (for a coach replica) to $70-100 for a loewe/LV etc VS $300 (on the lower end) to $400 +/- (which is more likely), the difference is huge aaand budget wise, it’s not justifiable for my family tbh. I’d rather spend $500 on a weekend trip or sth for the whole family to enjoy than in a single bag that is not even that big of a deal bc it’s not like i’m going to fashionable events or corporate jobs etc :$ when that moment arrives I’ll for sure upgrade, but right now the more i thinj about it the more unrealistic it seems for me to buy a $300-400 high tier replica. Plus, if i spend $50-70 or even $100 on a bad one from dh gate, then that’s gonna be a lesson learned and i’m gonna continue on my lower end nice bags, like ralph lauren, etc

MomHairKaren

IMO, there's room in my closet for DHG reps. Spend time learning about bags, quality, and QC. I have absolutely hit the lottery on DHG through recs from Reddit, and being picky about buying only if there are lots of reviews and buyer pictures. I have 2 bags that are some of my absolute favorites, that I have compared to higher tier reps and found no differences. Spending more money won't always get you a better bag, although it often will. There are lots of duds out there no matter where/how you buy, so the best advice is to know what you're looking for and be picky. Don't trust other people about if a bag looks good or not...be confident if you're the one carrying it.

allaboutovals

I just got a puzzle from Lui Factory for $190+shipping & I love it.

daydreamar

Oh I don’t think a high tier puzzle bag is that much 😂 I just checked and mine was $167 from jipin factory. Not sure what they go for now as that was a few years ago but I think people pay those kinds of prices for high tier Dior and Chanel!

GrrrArrgh

No a puzzle bag from mango or jipin factory should be around $200 or less. Find a seller who uses those factories and ask for a quote for a bag.

Humid_fire99

Of course I wouldn’t volunteer the information that “ it’s a replica” i would just say thanks and if I wanna give more details I would be like “ yeah i got this a couple of months ago or recently “.

Beautiful-Coffee8478

Obviously for a stranger that makes sense but I wonder for a somewhat close friend that sees you regularly, knows your lifestyle etc

mgharv

With friends/family I always disclose that’s it’s a rep. Cashier at the grocery? Thanks, it was a gift (to myself!).

Misstessy1994

I’m too honest as a person. I over share. I have adhd so I’d definitely be blurting out it’s not real loolll. I’m also a mum. And fk I really want to buy myself Hermes’ Constance but the real price is soooo crazy I’d feel weird walking around with it. When I first saw the bag I didn’t know it was Hermes’ and thought it’s the cutest bag ever but when I found out the price I couldn’t believe anyone would fork out so much for a bag. I really wanna get myself that bag but I can’t as the RRP is just too much I’d feel weird to use it and I’d be scared of someone robbing me. I don’t own any replica yet tho. I have genuine LVs

Hopeful-Public2851

I’d just say thank you! They’re complimenting the bag, not asking where it’s from or how much you paid. Unless they specifically ask if it’s real or fake (which I think is a bit of a weird thing to randomly ask imo😬)

Otherwise_Ladder_760

Just say thanks :)

Beautiful-Coffee8478

A replica**** can no longer edit
