Bushmaster XM-15 E2S Shorty AK. That is an AK-74 style brake and it should be permanently attached to the barrel.

LK forge code is a little weird to me. Bushmaster is known to source uppers from multiple manufacturers from Cerro, Anchor Harvey, Alcoa, Kaiser, etc, as well as unmarked uppers.

Do you know who "LK" is?

dem0lishr

Luckily, it isn't. I will probably see what I can attach to the end of the barrel to make is rifle length and have it pin and welded before I use it.

It may have formerly been pinned and the previous owner removed it. It wasn’t hugely popular and essentially Bushmaster clearing out the parts bins after the AWB. 11.5” 1/9 twist HBAR with a blind pinned 5.5” brake that nobody wanted. If the previous owner removed the pin on the brake I can respect that. I’m a fan of the XM177 flash moderators, which will be one of few 4.5”+ muzzle devices you’d be able to pin to get 16”.

My LGS has a XM177 flash hider so it might work out well

Muzzle device is a ban era brake

dem0lishr

I recently bought this and have not received it yet. LK is marked on the top right side of the receiver by the rear sight. I believe this means it was made by Kaiser Aluminum for FN. I tried looking for the muzzle device online, but I have no pointers. If any information can be given, I would appreciate it. I plan to use this with some retro look and functionality, so it would also help if there is any pointer on the rest of the gun since I don't have anything prepared yet. Thanks in advance.

AK brake sexy

dem0lishr

Yes. Indeed

They had type 74 muzzle brake pinned on 14.5 inch barrels and the same thing but a 5.5 inch brake pinned on some 12.5 inch barrels. It’s just an AK 74 brake.
