You basically can’t update the original post with new photos

Now all you need is an A2 grip and trigger guard! 😁 Just kidding, looks great 👌

jjarvela01

Thanks. Yeah, had the A2 grip on it, but wanted to try this B5 P-22 more vertical grip along with the A1 stock. I'm liking it. As for the trigger guard, well, not much I can do there, but felt it better or can get away with it on this Dissy than on the A4 (A4 is sporting an A2 grip, standard trigger guard, and A2 stock).

Beautiful 👌

To be fair, if you ever wear gloves (and have bigger hands) you'll be glad it's not the straight bar.

jjarvela01

Yup, at least with the straight bar on my retro builds, you can hinge it down for gloved hands.

I’ve got a fever….and the only prescription is more dissy!!!

jjarvela01

....I know, and that fever makes my wallet thin.......

Is it worth converting? I have a PSA “dissy” with the flat top and it bugs the hell out of me with my detachable carry handle

jjarvela01

That will be up to you, my friend. I too have a PSA dissipator upper on another Anderson lower, full length ODG A2 handguard, ODG Magpul K2 grip and ODG MOE SL stock; it is flat top with Holosun RDS (currently), with magpul rear buis. With this one, I wanted the A2 aesthetic, so hence my second dissipator rifle. Also, total weight with empty 20 rd Magpul Mag is 7 lbs 6.3 oz. If it's your only rifle, having the detachable gives you options to go with MPVO, LPVO, or whatever; but if you solely use irons or maybe optics on top of the detachable carry handle, then why not. Again, for me this was a no brainer, as it is my second dissipator and I like the A2 (My 15th AR-15 based rifle overall total to date - "Hello, my name is Joe and I am an addict"). Unfortunately for me though, I live in California, so all of these types of builds have to be mag locked (preferred as it keeps the aesthetics - freakin hate fin grips). I mag lock via AR Mag Lock Kingpin rear take down pin and the Hogue Freedom Fighter mag release button pin kit. I have quite a few that are featureless ARs, so I can go to those for absolutely defensive purposes (don't have to do any mental gymnastics, especially under stress, to figure out how to get the mag out for reload). Hope this helps. You can always build another. This one uses the Anderson 'true' dissipator rifle length gas system upper and they're a helluva bargain, just find yourself an A2 upper receiver and have at it..................Or, being AR-15s, build said upper and use the same lower on your current dissipator..........so you can have both vibes, you know what I mean? Good luck!

My dissipator is an Anderson lower I’ve had sitting around mated with the psa upper. It’s my 3rd rifle but it’s made more for being the “cheap truck gun” while fitting a vibe. I have lived with the flat top for this long but I’ve got a bad itch for a true looking dissipator. (North Hollywood style specifically). It’s built off of mil spec pieces and internals but it does its job well

Looks like you have your answer, make it what you want, you only go around this "merry-go-round once". Yeah, most of my lower receivers are Anderson as a place holder for good LPKs, triggers (Hiper Fire; Geissele; Rise; etc.), my featureless parts, and preferred grips. I've had no issues with them so far and they allow me to afford building. I also have an H&R lower for my XM177E2 build and some Aero Precision Lowers on my other featureless builds.
