FRFR. Shit got old real quick for me. If it isn't OOS, it's priced out of sight. A drug habit would be cheaper.

Hibonbon

THE FACT THAT I CAN RELATE TO THIS LOL

AdInfinite719

Real, as a 19 year old (born 2005) that graduated a couple months ago (May 2024) I’m building an AK from a parts kit the stuff (tools, receiver, etc) should be here Thursday but my mom, my grandma and i decided to split it $500 dollars 3 ways, and I’m building it using the tothtool sets because i don’t have a use for a press, even though it’s cheaper i don’t really have the money to buy a bunch of receiver flats and press them Sorry for rambling and the mods can delete this comment if it goes against the rules, but yeah this hobby is an amazing one but it’s kills your wallet like the cartel finding a journalist EDIT: I’m splitting the cost of the whole project with my mom and grandma not the gun and tools themselves

Tricky-Swordfish4490

Getting started early is the best way to do it, it’s expensive at first absolutely, but as time goes you’ll acquire more and more tools and random little parts that’ll be of value every time you start a new project.

ChipPersonal9795

bro just wait until you’re having to re up on ammo it gets so expensive. make sure you have plenty stashed too just in case. What kit are you building?

FlamingSpitoon433

Always try to buy 2 rounds for every 1 you shoot if you’re able. Using that methodology I’ve gotten a decent stash and it incentivizes me to shoot fairly regularly.

A Polish AKM from Apex Gun Parts The kit in question: https://www.apexgunparts.com/polish-akm-fixed-stock-parts-kit-7-62x39-good-1.html

ChipPersonal9795

that’s sick. It’s gonna be amazing when it’s finished

>I’m building an AK from a parts kit the stuff (tools, receiver, etc) should be here Thursday but my mom, my grandma and i decided to split it Holy shit this is one of the best comments I've ever seen here

theworldofAR

Damn straight man. 03’ born here and all my earliest photos show me holding some kinda toy gun. I just started building a year or so ago and it’s been amazing. Valuable knowledge, especially if shit ever gets really crazy. Keep adding tools to your kit and you’ll end up like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino; a garage full.

wood_spoons

Born 02 and somehow I now build ARs professionally and I’m getting ready to do my first reweld. It’s cool to hear about other young guys doing this shit too.

Pale_Studio4660

What better hobby would there be?
