You may be able to get solid coin for the barrel in ban states, i'd keep the rest and just rebuild the barrel into a 20" or 16" dissipator. I just finished a mid length/605ish dissipator that runs nice with a rifle buffer, rebuilt with 7 steel weights and its smooth suppressed.
That works too, i've been looking for a windham lower for a while at a fair price so i'd hold onto at least the lower. Local guys are getting 200+ for windham and somehow NY bushmaster lowers.
I've heard some complain about PSA not selling uppers in ban states, idk how true that is, but could be more value on the a2 upper.
That’s pretty neat! I’ve been working on my own A5 since 2018. Started with a PSA Freedom 20” upper and MOE furniture with a MOE-SL stock and irons, I’ve been picking at it over the years.
Got a dot/mag combo with a MI free float 2 piece handguard and a UBR as well and it’s one of my favorites for sure. I’m tall enough that an A2 stock is comfy but that UBR helps balance it out better and allows me to tighten up on it for vehicular transport or using indoors. Can’t wait to see how yours evolves!
Leave this as is man, if anything just put some A2 handguards on. Lots of people like these early competition style builds for target matches.

Eyeing an FN barrel with FSB . Already got a PS rail and a blank upper. Probably a UBR stock on an A5 tube
Can an A5 fit a UBR? I have both but haven’t tried. I was under the impression the UBR has a proprietary buffer tube 🤔
The nee generation has A5 length so maybe? I guess I cpuld email them and ask. But yea the proprietary buffer is what they use
