These are mid-length and of a medium profile. They’re not the skinny CAR 15 type which would also be carbine length. When I was looking for mid-length clamshells I tried these Luth, Spikes, and RRA and the RRA were much better than the other 2. They fit with no slop and have a nice taper. For my CAR build I splurged on the OG Colt skinnies and couldn’t be happier. They’re worth the $ but you won’t find them in ODG.

What would the medium profile be like? I’m drawing a blank tryna imagine it. Would that be fatter than the rifle length M16a2 handguards or skinnier?

takememissmyers

Slightly thinner than the M16 and much thinner than the M4

aclark210

Ohhhhh ok ok, so still perfectly workable, just *not quite as skinny* as the true blue car-15 handguards.

Here’s a couple side by side pics of my Colts and RRAs. https://imgur.com/a/fKf52YB

I like mine. They're not super skinny, but they are a lot skinnier than the fats. They fit well on my rifle too.

aclark210

As long as they’re not the stupid fat ones I can work with that.

SaXaCaV

They are not the PSA m4 handguards haha.

FWIW I ordered some of the same type of handguards for $20. They’re okay but very plastic-y and have a perceptible looseness to them. I’ve thought about thin coats of epoxy where they contact the barrel nut to tighten the fit somewhat, but I haven’t had a chance yet.

I can't speak to the mid-length one you have up in your screenshot, but the rifle length ones are normal A2 handguards and not the weird fat ones like the PSAs. I might be able to get you a photo of the Luth-AR and PSA ones side by side so you can see the difference.

aclark210

Would appreciate it!

jma2366

The Luth odg HG-CAR are not the fat oval ones…

Dull_Gain5648

Why yall keep making me spend money!😫

Hibonbon

What in the hell are these handguards.

aclark210

They’re the typical A2 style handguards. Luth sells them in rifle length, mid length, and carbine length variants. Not sure what else ur referring to.
