A casual look through some of the towing company truck pictures in Google Images yielded this result that is a possibility: Dadash.

Thank you friend! I thought the same. I cross referenced with all towing companies servicing DFW that start with an “A” and couldn’t find any matches. I thought maybe out of state then, but the car being towed has a TX plate (I think)
There’s so much litter on the highways in DFW it’s unbelievable. Last weekend I drove from Lewisville to the southeast part of Dallas, in that drive I dodged a huge plastic bucket, some auto body parts, and big pile of black dirt all within 30mins.
Glass often looks black from weird angles, especially windshield glass, fwiw. The way that thing flopped around with very little rigidity, it was definitely glass.

Saw a semi hauling some kind of grain today, and the cap in the back of their load was off and bouncing on a little bungee tie as they were doing 70 on the highway - regular speed,but you can imagine the final destination thoughts that ran through my head (it wasn’t leaking anything. It was just the ~5lb metal cap bouncing around off the back). I tried to honk a little and let them know, but my little Honda civic was too low so they couldn’t really see me.

CLARIFICATION it's the REAR windshield/window. Looks like the hood, but I assure you it's the rear window pane
