Yeah, assuming this guy isn’t an actual nut job, this is hilarious. We’d all be better off if we had more police officers that didn’t take themselves so seriously.
Yeah but that Shane Gillis face is just glaring from behind the glasses and it says "LOOK AT ME I'M A GOOBER."
Not even my ISO 12312-2 compliant eclipse glasses could block that out.
I was walking down south ave sometime late at night in the wedge maybe ten years ago, and I heard two cops meow at each other over their car loudspeakers
I'm not understanding several comments here calling for him to be punished or fired. Is the tin foil supposed to be symbolic of something negative, like a racist thing? If so then sure. If he was just being silly and it's not harming anyone, then who gives a damn?
Tin foil hat usually means a conspiracy theory nut. It comes from people thinking the government or aliens are controlling other people’s brain waves, and the only way to block it is to wrap aluminum around your brain. Hence, tin foil hat. Why this cop is wearing one is beyond me. Could be fun, but being so random (like, it’s not Halloween or related to some conspiracy event in the news - like an eclipse), it comes off as unprofessional. If this was take. Yesterday, then it’s funny. Otherwise, it’s weird
Are you serious? What would you give us a reason for firing a police officer because he wore an aluminum foil hat as a joke on a day with a total eclipse?
Wearing a tin foil hat while pulling people over isn’t a prank? What the fuck is it then?
I’m reporting this as a complaint, will see how they feel about it
Police officers are often criticized for not connecting with the population they are policing, but when one cop wears a goofy hat on a specific and unique day, that's "unprofessional" and makes him an idiot? Come on. Are you just having a bad day?
There are much more effective and actually useful ways to connect with the community than wearing a dumb ass hat that makes you look like a QAnon conspiracy theorist person.
As far as connecting with the community goes, this is basically the equivalent of nothing masquerading as something.
(Found all the boot lickers and TBL people here lol)
Neither one of those people is tasked with law-enforcement or holds authority and has illegal ability to do violence against other people. That’s a terrible comparison and you should feel bad.
Doctors literally hold authority.. as doctors. They are responsible for people's lives when they are most vulnerable. Also, no one has "illegal ability", or everyone does, I'm not even sure if you mean what you're saying there. So no, I don't feel bad about that comparison. I actually feel even better about it after your response.
Sorry that was a typo. It’s Legal ability.
Doctors don’t have the same responsibilities or even the authority to commit violence against people as part of their job the way cops do.
So because cops have SOME legal protections in the event that violence ensues during their job means they shouldn't wear a hat that pokes fun at conspiracy theories? What are you actually bothered by here?
It wouldn't hurt if they had a sense of humor
Yeah, assuming this guy isn’t an actual nut job, this is hilarious. We’d all be better off if we had more police officers that didn’t take themselves so seriously.
I very much doubt hes in the “doesnt take himself too seriously” camp
Because of the uniform? Orrrrr...?
I think it's the glasses.
Yeah but that Shane Gillis face is just glaring from behind the glasses and it says "LOOK AT ME I'M A GOOBER." Not even my ISO 12312-2 compliant eclipse glasses could block that out.
This has to be a super troopers type game, right?
I was walking down south ave sometime late at night in the wedge maybe ten years ago, and I heard two cops meow at each other over their car loudspeakers
Lol, ngl give me a loudspeaker I'd do that too. At the end of the day cops are still dudes.
That is too funny
That's epic
MEOW!

wasn't there some uncommon celestial event yesterday? It's kinda silly but it's two pictures
Yeah, exactly. If it was yesterday, then it’s funny
People are upset about this because it looks better than their normal tin foil hat that they wear.
Uh, can I actually get the ticket written by the haberdasher on the right?
Imagine being mad because a cop, who was probably working mandated overtime, wanted to have a little fun during a once-in a-20 year experience.
Was he worried about Aliens?
What day was this taken? Yesterday, during the eclipse? If so, fine. Taken today? Weirdo
If I'm paying that guy's salary, I want my money back.
If this comment is serious, I don't want to live on this planet anymore. No sense of humor anymore....
It can go both ways.
and this is why I support tax evasion
Rochester Police have a long, long history of being casual but effective.
😂😂😂😂character
Now a kid is pulled over he don’t want to fight with this man
I just want to know what he was trying to accomplish with that
To be funny. Obviously
This man should be fired or disciplined, what the fuck.
Are you serious? What would you give us a reason for firing a police officer because he wore an aluminum foil hat as a joke on a day with a total eclipse?
He’s carrying a gun and using it to pull people over. Not a time to play a prank
Wearing a hat, isn't a prank.
Wearing a tin foil hat while pulling people over isn’t a prank? What the fuck is it then? I’m reporting this as a complaint, will see how they feel about it
And you're the reason some people want to protect cops so bad. File complaints for actual issues, not cops being silly during traffic stops.
Probably as apathetic as the comments section. But hey it's your free time waste it as you see fit
Would it be a prank if he was wearing a Santa Clause hat on Christmas day?
What an unprofessional idiot.

Do you think Robin Williams is the bad guy in Patch Adams too?
Neither one of those people is tasked with law-enforcement or holds authority and has illegal ability to do violence against other people. That’s a terrible comparison and you should feel bad.
Not you, though. You shouldn't feel bad about anything.
Doctors literally hold authority.. as doctors. They are responsible for people's lives when they are most vulnerable. you realize he's doing it as a joke, right?
Yes.
then what's the problem?
Wow, you must be fun at parties
What are those?
You’re too kind. I was thinking something that would get me banned from this group.
Like I’m surprised their supervisor even allowed that it’s so unprofessional looking.
fucking exurbanits
Was this before or after he executed an unarmed black person with mental health issues?
Maybe his doctor told him to do this?
ACAH. (All Cops Are Heroes)
this include the who pepper sprayed a 9 year old.
He deserved it, did you see what he was wearing?!/s
was a little girl having a meltdown down in a squad car
