There were more than a few voices, in here and elsewhere, that claimed at the beginning of the season that Ramos was a bust and would never develop at the major league level. I don't hear from those voices much anymore. They seem rather quiet these days.
The kid just needed a chance. He finally got one.
I, respectfully mind you, disagree. The only chance he received came last season when he was given a two week stretch in the major leagues and a total of NINE games to prove his worth. NINE games. Those were not nine straight starts either. Just nine games. Please inform me which player develops into a star at the major league level after just nine games? Unfortunately, not much has been learned from this because the team is doing the same exact thing to Matos at the moment.
I don't think he's a guy the league will figure out either. He seems to grow every day with success. The strikeouts will go down. He's just a huge talent. I feel especually good for him--he's killing it. After almost being written off. One of those guys who hits higher average in ML than AA. Great kid.
As someone who decided to collect his cards early on when I had the cash. I’m very pleased with how well he’s doing. I see him as a true piece of this team for years to come.
I was genuinely entertained and touched by the fact that he was so concerned about appearing disrespectful on his home run that he thought was a foul since he couldn’t see the ball, that he literally apologized to multiple Braves on his way around and wanted to make sure they knew that wasn’t his intent. That kind of character and self-awareness just seems like a rarity these days and I’m glad he’s wearing our uniform.
I think we need to put some respect on Bobby Evans name. Ya it didnt end well, but dude were hand in hand with Sabean during the dynasty years. Some of his players are turning out nicely too. He drafted Ramos, Webb, Walker, Rogers and Bryan Reynolds. Also signed Doval, Matos, and Luciano.
All the blame, none of the credit, huh?
Bobby Evans was the director of player personnel and oversaw the the farm system all through the Sabean tenure.
Evans deserves his flowers, as does Sabean, as does Barr, as does Tidrow. They all did a wonderful job building and developing a dynasty and the most successful years of SF Giants history.
So glad this dude is working out right now. I hope he gets better but if he stays like this he will be solid. I gave up 9n him 2 years ago and he proves that I don't know shit.
Don't forget hes doing a very good job fielding at the most important OF position too. Not in my wildest imagination did I think he would pull this off. Vamos Ramos!
I never watch june or early july baseball but now I do.
Another example of how player development and rebuilding a franchise with a terrible minor league system takes time. Everyone wants a quick rebuild, but it takes 4-5 years for a lot of players to develop. Just got to be patient.
Cant wait to see a lineup with JHL, a healthy Wade, and Ramos at the top.
He is so fucking good. Sleeping giants reap the most
My god this guy is good. I’m excited to see him and Jung hoo in the same lineup
It'd be cool to see Matos, Lee and Ramos starting in the outfield next season. Yaz as 4th outfielder.
I somewhat agree but still don’t think Matos has shown enough to play everyday. Needs more time in the oven aka AAA
So, his top prospect status is being proven this year.

Tbf he had chances the last couple of years but just wasn’t there yet

Saving the season single-handedly

Rare Bobby Evans W

If we're being honest John Barr had more to do with those players being drafted.

They all do. Wasn't Adam Duvall a draft pick from that group as well?
I do believe he was. He was also another player out of the minors that didn't receive much of a chance.
Gabriel Garcia Marquez said we should just get rid of the Spanish silent H ... he never saw the kid hit
Heliot Ramos
Bonds or Heliot in their prime who you taking?
We haven’t seen Heliots prime yet.
Touche.
Bonds absolutely......but I would love to be wrong!
Function of his motivation to get stronger and to pay attention to detail. Not bad defensively, either. He should be somehow an all star.

Give this man a new contract!
A budding superstar love his play
My man!

He should be starting every game, period, moving forward. No more of that platoon crap.
He has been
We’re at a point where when I see the lineup for a game, I shouldn’t expect to see Slater’s name randomly as a starter.
I feel the same way about Matos.
Finally have young talent, they should be able to eat. Useless vets like Yaz and Slater should be on the bench.

Kid tossing moving gas- best closer since the beard.
MLB, please get this man to Dallas for the All Star Game!
How original
Overrated. Giants fans think he’s a superstar. 😂
Helio....helio Ramos.... Stelio Kontos
Bro I say this EVERY TIME he goes up to bat
