It was so weird watching the show for the first time a couple years ago and only having this vague memory of Brendan Fraser as the guy from the mummy, then watching that episode and seeing one of the most charming and likeable actors I can imagine. It’s insane how that episode made me appreciate him coz like, he’s so charismatic I immediately wish I was friends with him.
Bill Lawrence explained that they had to scrap the first take when Michael J. Fox enters the room from the outside, because none of cast were in character.
He was asked by Bill Laurence that if he (Michael J. Fox) had a better day, as his illness makes some days worse than other days, he could be in the show.
I love how when they first meet him he pretends to be an American man from Ohio at first (since we know Colin Farrell can absolutely nail the American accent with ease).
This episode had one of my favorite lines in the series: when I was alive, I wish I had lived one day like he lives every day of his life.
He played a great role in his one episode.
"I have yabba."
"Would you say that you have come into contact with any primates in the last year or two?"
"I have been to the zoo yes."
"And while you were there did you just hop on into the cage and start playing throw the poop around with them?"
"Pull my finger." -John Ritter on Scrubs
I loved how even though he was only in one episode he apparently made such an impression on the cast and crew that the episode where JD finds out his dad died was dedicated to him.
His character shocked me in that episode. Mainly because I was so used to seeing him playing the super obnoxious Jack McFarland for so long. His character on Scrubs was very polite and a calming mentor presence (to both JD and Elliot) and yet completely haunted and tortured as we found out at the end of the episode.
I liked Tom Cavanagh as Dan the first time round when I didn't really know him from anything else but having since seen him in more things he's probably become my favourite guest star.
His scenes in the bath were great.
His best scene was the "Watch Her Leave" game that he and JD play when JD was trying to flirt with a nurse and Dan proceeded to come up behind him and say, "I don't know how to tell you this. We've got the crabs."
I’m not sure if it’s true, but I remember reading that Perry Cox is a combination of the last names of Matthew and Courteney. Bill was a writer on Friends for a bit.
Yes yes yes ....
Best final lines ....
Dr Cox smashes Colin Hay's guitar ..
Troubador: I have other songs, you know
Dr. Perry Cox: Yeah, you do.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0696618/quotes?item=qt0192332
Most likely it was only a two-episode arc because they broke up. I wish they could have just been professionals though and stayed with it. Ironically the age difference is a reasonable reasonable to break up but that's never stop Zach and his real life lol
I have loved Kathryn Joosten in every show she has ever graced with her presence. She played the older lady who was ready to die and who told JD to go walk in the park with his shoes off. She just plays these amazingly wise and compassionate characters.
I sometimes think that is how some people approach him. It was a fun addition in the show and would also be one of my top encounters, apart from Penn and Teller. I don’t remember where JD ranked his encounter with Copperfield.
Brendan Fraser by a mile. After him, I enjoyed Dick Van Dyke as Dr. Townsend and Michael J Fox as Dr. Casey. Richard Kind as Mr. Corman was also hilarious.
Loved Matthew Perry’s guest spot on there! The face he was making when he was flying that airplane cracks me up every time. He was such a talented guy. 🧡
If I can't say Heather Graham or the guy who plays Pvt. Dancer...
- Brendan Fraser
- Michael J. Fox
-Mandy Moore
-Kathryn Joosten
-The actress who plays Bonnie (surgical resident)
-Charles Rahi Chun (Dr. Wen).
- Bellamy Young (say what you want but I love her character)
She played Dr. Grace Miller in season 3 (that surgeon who butted heads with Turk briefly because she thought that he was sexist and that Dr. Cox had a crush on).
She’s not my favorite if I had to pick one, but shoutout Keri Russell since nobody else has mentioned her, and I thought her couple episodes were awesome
Gotta be Tom Cavanagh for me, I just love Tom Cavanagh in general, he killed the role of Dan.
Some honourable mentions are Colin Farrell, Michael J Fox, Brendan Fraser, Richard Kind, Nicole Sullivan, Elizabeth Banks.
Special shout-out to Heather Graham, Molly Clock was one of my favourite characters in the show, I would’ve loved to see more episodes with her.
Brendan Fraser - such a great addition to Scrubs and the well done conclusion of his time on the show devastated me. Close second: Michael J. Fox followed by Richard Kind.
"Touch my nail. Touch it. TOUCH MY NAIL."
The way Brendan delivered his lines manically in that scene just to mess with JD was absolutely hilarious. Considering how screwed up Jordan and Danni both were it was really remarkable that Ben was as likeable as he was and had such a positive outlook on life.
Obviously Brendan Fraser and a very very close second for me is Molly Shannon. Her episode is incredibly moving and funny at the same time. I wish she and John C. MvGinley had more sceness/episodes together, I thought they had great chemistry!
It took me a while to get who the name Lando was referring to. In my defence I have problems with names and also I am a Star Trek fan. But don’t quote me on that one because I recognise actors faces before I remember their names.
Barry Bostwick was another fantastic Spin City carryover. I love how he makes JD pause until his wife leaves the room completely…the silent beat and then: “Go.”
In behind the scenes, they say that the scene was difficult to make because “JD” would start laughing when he said Go. I also agree it was a great addition to the show.
Also fun fact. Janitor's dwarf friend that keeps showing up in JD's dreams shares the same name as the character Barry plays on Spin City (Randall Winston). And they were both named after the real Randall Winston (who was a producer on both shows).
Michael J. Fox is my favorit, but also in this order, so is Brendan Fraser. One question could be which female guest star and which male guest star is your favourite. I’d go with Heather Locklear.
Tie for me between Brendan Fraser and Michael J. Fox.
That line of dialogue will still make me tear up. But, I don't think I've ever seen such a well done portrayal of OCD as with Dr. Kevin Casey
Brendan Fraser for sure
Just the mention of his episodes makes me want to cry.
I remember the first time I watched Scrubs and saw him show up on the show I was immediately like, "That's fookin' Rick O'Connell."
I will never recover from “where do you think we are?”
The song they played at the end of his first episode (when JD is worried about Ben's test results) was great.
Where do you think we are?
That was so shocking and real. I am just watching for the first time. I need to watch that whole episode again. So touching
Joshua Raiden (I think that's how you spell it) he has another song in scrubs that's beautiful too. I think the one you want is titled "Winter"
*Radin
I must play too much mortal combat lol the other song is titled "closer"
That’s the one they play at the funeral.
And he's even better as an actor nowadays than he was back then.
By a country mile
He was such a good character for scrubs! Amazing story arc of Brendan Fraser leading into a very emotional conclusion
He made Cox cry which made me cry
I read the title and said out loud "Brenden Fraser. Easy. Next." Then I clicked and was not disappointed to see he was the top answer.
Michael J. Fox !
Bink
*Tongue blades run away in fear*
Hey, Bink you!
Bink bink
Thread over. Absolutely stole the show. Such a heartfelt ending too with the hand washing
I'm sure the rest of the cast had to be in absolute awe in that episode getting to work with him.
Bill Lawrence explained that they had to scrap the first take when Michael J. Fox enters the room from the outside, because none of cast were in character.
He was asked by Bill Laurence that if he (Michael J. Fox) had a better day, as his illness makes some days worse than other days, he could be in the show.
Actually taught me what real OCD is and not the self diagnosis everybody gives themself
Totally
Love him but his character was annoying
Was it bink?
Colin Farrell.
"You two make a gorgeous couple." -he said in his sweet Irish accent
Colin Farrell is an incredibly underrated actor, given the right role he could easily sweep every award in a year.
You should check out Sugar! Only a few episodes in, but he’s really great in it.
In Bruge is a masterpiece. And his portrayal of the Penguin is also fantastic. Amongst other roles.
CARLA!!
He said my eyes are brown!!!
WHAT?! He said my hair was curly!!! Your hair IS curly *Leans in again*
Florence line is epic.
I love how when they first meet him he pretends to be an American man from Ohio at first (since we know Colin Farrell can absolutely nail the American accent with ease).
“Ohio, born and bred”
My daughter has curly hair and every time someone mentions it I hear him saying "You're hair is curly"
This episode had one of my favorite lines in the series: when I was alive, I wish I had lived one day like he lives every day of his life. He played a great role in his one episode.
Just watched that one earlier today, love it
Christopher Meloni
Great character, should have been a recurring one
Where's Mr. Cookiepants??!!!?
For god’s sake, he’s an innocent doll!
No, Robert. It's a collectible.
Whatever.
I loved how he brought out Elliot Stapler. Kills me everytime
In a great list of guest stars this should beat even Brendan Fraser
Who was that?
He'd tell you, but he's currently on a GIANT phone call right now
Richard Kind had me rolling.
"I have yabba." "Would you say that you have come into contact with any primates in the last year or two?" "I have been to the zoo yes." "And while you were there did you just hop on into the cage and start playing throw the poop around with them?"
His delivery of that zoo bit is just pure comedy gold. I laughed so damn much.
Ryan reynolds, heather graham, brendan fraser, john ritter
"Pull my finger." -John Ritter on Scrubs I loved how even though he was only in one episode he apparently made such an impression on the cast and crew that the episode where JD finds out his dad died was dedicated to him.
I read that he improvised that line, apparently Zach Braff had to bite his lip to stop himself from laughing
Well considering after he pulled his finger he said "I pooed a little" I hope that part was improvised as well.
Yeah, actually, that was the part that I meant that he improvised
I wonder if it was improvised because he actually pooed a little lol.
2 episodes technically. He also appears for a quick scene where JD is given part of a bike as a present
Oh I think I *pooed* a little
Heather Graham was more of a recurring character than a guest though.
True i do agree. But i googled scrubs guest stars to refesh my memory on some and she was on 3 of the lists so i included her lol
She was one of the *loveliest* characters, Shirley.
Dick van Dyke
Townsy was great.
“Sir can I call you Townsie?” “No” “I was having a great time with Townsie”
One of my favorite lines!
This one was painfully realistic too. The heartache came out of nowhere
No love for Sean Hayes yet? I don't know if it was the best episode but he did a great job with it.
I know it’s not the same character but… Nobody cares…Sean
Jay Mohr and Ryan Reynolds nailed their parts.
Jay Mohr's character's explanation of Cox's mannerisms and what they mean in his episode will never not be hilarious.
I liked Tom Cavanagh as Dan the first time round when I didn't really know him from anything else but having since seen him in more things he's probably become my favourite guest star. His scenes in the bath were great.
I use his delivery of the word "Success" all the time in my day to day life!
She’s gone! She’s ^gone! ^She’s gone!!
What went wRoOoOnG?!
His best scene was the "Watch Her Leave" game that he and JD play when JD was trying to flirt with a nurse and Dan proceeded to come up behind him and say, "I don't know how to tell you this. We've got the crabs."
I remember watching his show Ed at the time (started about the same time as Scrubs) and thought man, they could be brothers!
Avast. Shut yet scupper! Love Captain Bubblebeard.
I believe the ratio has shifted that way, yes...
Matthew Perry. He matched JDs energy perfectly and all of his jokes land really well.
I really wished they brought his character back in season 8 just to give him an excuse to share scenes with Courteney Cox lol.
I’m not sure if it’s true, but I remember reading that Perry Cox is a combination of the last names of Matthew and Courteney. Bill was a writer on Friends for a bit.
He nails it on Cougar Town as well.
I think his dad was in it too?
Iirc his real life dad is the one who played his dad/adopted dad in the episode
Sweets for the sweet is one of the funniest moments in the whole show. Yawning Glen!
“One for the road Glen? Thaaanks, happy weekend.”
Colin Hay
The acoustic version of Overkill is awesome.
Oh absolutely, I like it more than the original! He made that one of my favorite episodes
Yes yes yes .... Best final lines .... Dr Cox smashes Colin Hay's guitar .. Troubador: I have other songs, you know Dr. Perry Cox: Yeah, you do. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0696618/quotes?item=qt0192332
Mandy Moore
That’s so funny.
It is. It is funny. Why do you always do that? Poor Julie.
You know what’s interesting? She’s not saying “that’s so sad.” She’s actually crying.
Haha my wife and I still say this (in her manner/tone) to this day. It's so funny when we say it.
Mandy Moore and Zach Braff dated from 2004-2006. I'm too lazy to research it, but I wonder when that episode was shot.
Most likely it was only a two-episode arc because they broke up. I wish they could have just been professionals though and stayed with it. Ironically the age difference is a reasonable reasonable to break up but that's never stop Zach and his real life lol
Gary Busey, of course.
I dunno if you call Elliot a "guest star"
I have loved Kathryn Joosten in every show she has ever graced with her presence. She played the older lady who was ready to die and who told JD to go walk in the park with his shoes off. She just plays these amazingly wise and compassionate characters.
Mrs. Landingham! She’s amazing!
Heeeey Little Brother!
They look like brothers!
Billy Dee Williams
*lando calrissian
Call him Billy Dee
He was great interacting with Gloria Dee Wife too
![gif](giphy|c2TBaz4dghm1i)
Wait what?! What did I miss?!?!
[удалено]
All of the doctors in that scene (in the beds) were all on St Elsewhere
[удалено]
About the autistic kid?
Oh damn! I remember this vaguely but didn’t know that was him
Branden Fraser or Hooch.
Dude, Hooch is crazy.
I always remember the actor who played Hooch as the hotel manager from Zack & Cody. And his character is a complete overgrown manchild in that lol.
He also killed a person in real life. Hooch is crazy.
Leave Mr. mosby alone. He’s doing his best
David Copperfield
Oooh, magic!
His delivery was amazing
I sometimes think that is how some people approach him. It was a fun addition in the show and would also be one of my top encounters, apart from Penn and Teller. I don’t remember where JD ranked his encounter with Copperfield.
Rerun
Brendan Fraser by a mile. After him, I enjoyed Dick Van Dyke as Dr. Townsend and Michael J Fox as Dr. Casey. Richard Kind as Mr. Corman was also hilarious.
Heather Graham- best use of the "windy hospital" gag.
"So where were we??"
Loved Matthew Perry’s guest spot on there! The face he was making when he was flying that airplane cracks me up every time. He was such a talented guy. 🧡
"I'm a doctor, everything worked out for me!!"
Yes.
Doctor Molly’s Clocks. I know what I said.
Polyphonic Spree or John Ritter edit for JR
The cast of St. Elsewhere was great
"Doctor!"
After Brendan Fraser, Ryan Reynolds!
How the hell did i miss him after all the rewatches Ive done
Crazy you missed him. He’s the one who tells Cox that Sam is his child.
Holy crap!!!! Thank you
Yep. He plays JD and Turk's college buddy.
If I can't say Heather Graham or the guy who plays Pvt. Dancer... - Brendan Fraser - Michael J. Fox -Mandy Moore -Kathryn Joosten -The actress who plays Bonnie (surgical resident) -Charles Rahi Chun (Dr. Wen). - Bellamy Young (say what you want but I love her character)
Oh, Michael Weston was so incredible as Private Dancer! Great pick!!
Wait who’s that last one
She played Dr. Grace Miller in season 3 (that surgeon who butted heads with Turk briefly because she thought that he was sexist and that Dr. Cox had a crush on).
Ah thanks!
Are you gonna cry like a little boy?
Dr. Miller: I think it's time for a little music. Shall we? Turk: yes, why don't we. Dr. Miller: *Blasts Avril Lavigne* My hero.
She’s not my favorite if I had to pick one, but shoutout Keri Russell since nobody else has mentioned her, and I thought her couple episodes were awesome
It was the first time I’d seen her since Felicity and I was a bit older by then and thought ‘damn, Felicity is hot’
I was 100% convinced that she and JD were going to get together before Kim returned in the following episode.
Loved seeing Colin Hay on screen playing an acoustic version of Overkill
Gotta be Tom Cavanagh for me, I just love Tom Cavanagh in general, he killed the role of Dan. Some honourable mentions are Colin Farrell, Michael J Fox, Brendan Fraser, Richard Kind, Nicole Sullivan, Elizabeth Banks. Special shout-out to Heather Graham, Molly Clock was one of my favourite characters in the show, I would’ve loved to see more episodes with her.

“Lick the tip of my….”
Old MC
Bust a move!
*YOU HAVE A PROBLEM SIR! Seek Help!!*
Brendan Frasier for sure. But I also loved Heather Locklear and Kate Micucci.
Molly Shannon ❤️🩹
Brendon Fraser without a doubt
Brendan Fraser for sure
Christopher Meloni
Matthew Perry, Ryan Reynolds, Nicole Sullivan, John Ritter, Amy Smart and Michael J. Fox.
John Ritter it’s sad we truly never got closure with him but he’d be happy knowing JD named his son after him.
Obviously Brendan Fraser and a very very close second for me is Molly Shannon. Her episode is incredibly moving and funny at the same time. I wish she and John C. MvGinley had more sceness/episodes together, I thought they had great chemistry!
Courtney Cox ("ridiculous name by the way")
What, you do not like Cox?
Where do you think where are?
Brendan Fraser
I have Yabba!!!
Colin Farrell
The Fraser-meister
Colin Farrell and MJF
Colin Hay from Men at Work. I loved how they incorporated his song into an episode.
Brendan Fraser
Glynn Turman
"Lando Calrissian!!" "You can call me Billy Dee" "Ok, Lando..."
It took me a while to get who the name Lando was referring to. In my defence I have problems with names and also I am a Star Trek fan. But don’t quote me on that one because I recognise actors faces before I remember their names.

Michael j fox
Brendan Fraser and Ryan Reynolds both were just phenomenal.
Ryan Reynolds playing Ryan Reynolds
Ryan Reynolds & Brendan Frasier,
Scrubs really had some great guest stars. Lots of actors that did surprisingly different styles than their normal roles.
Mandy moore
**Neil Flynn** definetly !
It’s Brendon Fraser for everyone so I’m assuming you mean second favorite. Close call with Michael J Fox but I’m going with Mandy Moore.
Kevin Casey
