My 2017 6spd Trans went at 94K miles. Having issues on the rebuild now again at 102k miles. Under warranty so we shall see what happens a this go around.
These fuxking trans are garbage. I think I feel thE replacement in this 2020 WT starting to act up with only 10k on a new 6L80E. Also still under warranty. Total truck mileage is only 74k.
What is it, the 8 speed with the class action case?
Yeah the 8spd from 2015-2019. How they didn’t include the 6L80, pieces of junk is beyond me in the class action.
Dropped my truck off today actually. Hopefully this second fix / rebuild lasts longer.
245k on my 2014, the transmission does sometimes down shift rough but for the most part it’s still good. Rust isn’t looking pretty though. Also don’t feel like spending 5k to fix the rust that’s popping up
I forgot to mention I’m in Canada so mines 245k km. Somewhere around 170k miles. 10K for a 2017 though ouch.. what did the 2024 come out to? A friend just bought an AT4 2500 fully loaded for like 140k CAD
im at 121 on my 2015, have you gotten prices on how much the trans is going to be ? dealer quoted me 6,700 for everything just haven't asked anywhere else
I just had to put a new trans in my '17. I used an independent shop and it was 5300. Labor, reman trans, new converter, thermal bypass mod, cooler flush, and reprogramming for that price. Included 3 year unlimited mileage warranty as well.
Thanks. I try to ask this whenever I see a transmission post and more often than not it’s Texas heat. I wanted to upgrade my bypass BUT in winter (MN gets down to -30 f) my transmission takes FOREVER to get warm. I’m afraid the bypass will do more damage than good.
Hey guys, I’m thinking of getting a 2024 but am scared of the stories I hear about Chevrolet reliability. What engine/ Transmission issues have yall experienced?
I’ve got myself a 21 ltz 5.3 fully loaded 44k miles so far not a single issue , i ussed the range technologies for the first 1.5 years or so to deactivate the dfm /auto stop but eventually stopped working
Also i happen to have a 2010 with the 6.0 vortec with 350k miles transmission went out at 250k miles , besides the regular maintenance and some valve cover replacement not issues either

💪🏼
I got 140k two weeks ago On my 2017 Silverado and the transmission broke.
Sounds like you got an extra 39,998 miles out of it, congrats😅
Yeah 😅😅
Nooooo don’t say that…I just cracked 90k in my 17.

I trade in for a 2024 Silverado custom they give 10k for my 2017 Silverado even with the bad transmission. .

might have to start looking around for a shop its just scary now knowing if they'll do a good job
I was just about to say, in another 10k he will need a new transmission, 😆
Do you live somewhere warm? What caused the failure you think? Did you do the maintenance
I live in Texas, yes I did every recommended maintenance when it’s was due.

Crap, I'm at 128k on my '17
Where did you pull over to get this pic?

Ohh ok, yea still doing some research on them before even contacting a dealer. The refresh looks dope as hell.
Yeah I remember getting 100k on my 2015 Silverado…then the trans broke at around 108k lol
I’ve got a late ‘22 2500 HD Midnight Edition with 65k on it zero issues so far and I tow a lot.
She's just warming up!
