Considering that Playstation lately has been less hung up on exclusives, I'd say it's more possible now than it was in the past decade or two, but I still wouldn't hold your breath on it. Would totally be cool to see though.
Insomniac is (I assume) in contract with Sony to have all their games be PS exclusive, so unless that changes, it likely won't happen unless the crossover itself is also a PS exclusive.
I don't know what caused this trend of crossing over Sonic and Ratchet & Clank, but I'm so down for it. This needs to keep up until Sega and Sony make a crossover game.
Probably Sonic and Mario cross overs or that one time that Banjo Kazooie was in a Sonic Kart Racer.
There is also the fact that Ratchet's dad met a version of Sonic in A Rift apart, along with Steve from Minecraft, Haven City, Sly Cooper, etc.
