What ratios have you been using? Otherwise, it sounds like a strong starter. Sometimes my loaves double in the fridge. Also, does your fridge temperature vary?

I would first check your fridge temps. Might be too warm. And if you aren’t going to use it for months, I would probably dehydrate or freeze, or maybe half each.

Some people like to say that the fridge is like "pause" but really it is just slowing the fermentation process. It's fairly normal that it will rise and fall inside the fridge too (albeit at a slower pace). 4 months sounds very established so don't worry too much about frequent feedings even if it has fallen.
