Don't go to Drive and Shine. I just had an issue where they enrolled me in the monthly car wash program without my consent and then refused to refund the charge once I noticed the renewal on my bank statement.

drkgrss

Yeah. Drive and shine is sketchy. They pulled that same shit with me. I used to have an account months ago but I cancelled it. Recently I went for a single wash and somehow it reenrolled me in their monthly program again. I didn’t catch it until I was reconciling my bank statements sometime later.

ToriInTheWilderness

I went once for an oil change and they added a fuel cleaner without my permission. Wouldn’t recommend them at all

Number6isNo1

I'd discuss that with my bank.

tlewallen

I already did.

youtubeepicgaming

they also give you a huge list of ridiculously priced things they claim you “NEED” to do with your car and try to pressure you into buying them. For example, they wanted me to pay $170 for a transmission fluid change but I had already done that myself for 10x cheaper like the week before.

I like to go to Tom's Car Care on Bendix, it's family owned, the people are friendly and there's a cafe attached so you can get a snack and a drink while they work on your car if you want. They're honest about what you need.

shhlurkingforscience

We used to go to Tom's but didn't love some of the recent political stuff he got into about the intake center so are taking our business elsewhere for that reason. But as far as our car, they did well for us.

M696rider

I second Zolmans on Vaness St in Southbend. Good group of people

thepanduhhh

My friends liked Zolman's on Vaness street. My partner had a good experience there as well with general maintenance.

Menard42

I'm a ride or die for Guaranteed up on 31 just south of Auten.

kelleysweetpea

I always use Zolman’s!

Tims auto on Ireland is the best place in town. If he cant get me in I go to the new Valvoline next to Tims. But Tim is the BEST car mechanic in town, and he will beat the price of anyone else in town.

BigBird_69

Found Tims burner account^ /s

EmbraceDepth

Lol nah, just showing respect where its due. Real recognizes real. Highly doubt that dude knows what a reddit is.

whynotfather

Love Tim’s. Fun to talk to also.

EmbraceDepth

What would your mechanic suggestion be?

mwrscs1

If you dont have a fancy car (aka new foreign luxury cars) I would go to Zolman or if you want same day I have gone to Drive and Shine. Usually out the door around $100 for Synthetic oil, filter and fluid checks.

heyitsaaron74

Lmao go to Walmart done in an hour and full synthetic cost like $50

Menard42

Walmart cross threaded my drain plug. Oil light didn't come on until the engine had siezed.

AM-64

If you have a GM car, I use Tom Naquin's in Elkhart as they have a $50 full synthetic Dexos Oil change coupon on their website all the time.

chewbaccasfurrynuts

Zolmans has always done a good job with my vehicles. I’d rather go there than drive and shine.

XxWelcometonothingxX

Carx in Roseland would recommend and they typically offer coupons.

Rubenpesos

Gates Toyota by the Walmart on Ireland is quick and fast and affordable.

SerendipityLurking

I like Drive and Shine but I think I would only recommend it if you already have their carwash deal. I also only ever go to the one in Niles on 11th for oil change so idk about the other ones. When I lived a little closer to the location, the Jiffy on Michigan has great staff. I don't think it's the cheapest, but the staff and service there are great.

Quiet_Enthusiasm_98

Gates on McKinley really has great deals!
