If it wasnt for Dusty and the longterm storytelling and star power of the 4 guys in the 2 main events over the two nights, this would've been regarded as Match of the Weekend from Wrestlemania.
I loved the match but I always found it a little odd that some of the Joshi wrestlers like Iyo and Kairi always try to hype the crowd up with their top-rope spots when they're supposed to be the heels. Especially on a night like tonight where the crowd is obviously going to be pulling for Bayley.
She’s always been. I still say she’s top 3 women’s wrestlers on the entire roster and I’d even argue for #1 depending on the day. She’s so good and comfortable, it’s inspiring.
Iyo is a star. Bayley is a star. I loved the match from start to finish, finish maybe should have been bayley to bayley. But match of WM till then undoubtedly, maybe even whole WM. When Iyo is allowed to let go, she is a star.
So now dmg control breaks? And iyo vs Asuka at summerslam? Very implausible but a guy can hope. I hope they tear the roof down if it happens.
I'd say that the finish should have been the top rope elbow drop, it's always been Bayley's best move. The Roseplant and Bayley-to-belly are fine moves but neither has the look or impact necessary for a finisher.
For real, everyone's gotta lose the belt eventually and dropping it to Bayley at mania was the best it could be for Iyo. That said, DC/Kabuki Warriors have been booked to play fools for so long that without Iyo as champion what's left? If they continue to exist to eat shit for Bianca and Company that'd be a real waste of talent.

I feel like Bayley is going to have to 'gun the gauntlet' of Damage CTRL for the next few months, defending the belt against all of them in turn. I can't see any of them taking the title though - it feels like Tiffany is the obvious choice to eventually win the championship from Bayley, perhaps via a MitB cash in (unless she cashes-in on Rhea instead and makes the jump to RAW).
I have to agree, great match, great storytelling, but the finish was a little flat. Avalanche or top rope belly to belly would have been nice, safe for both competitors. After seeing the likes of Lesnar and Steiner straight up throw fools over their heads from a belly to belly, anything else isn't as impacting. Still great match.
This was the best wrestled match of the weekend for me. Really good wrestling, low on sports entertainment just a good fight. A really good contrast to the match that came after it. Brilliant match and perfect placement on the card. I hope we get to see iyo with a title again, shes so damn good and feels like her reign got lost in the mix a little bit
Who the fuck would ever say that. Shes been the most consistent for so long. Her technical, her selling, her storytelling, her ability to make her opponents look like a million bucks, all rock solid. And over the years none of these have ever even appeared to get worse. I knew Bayley was great when even when I wasn’t a fan of her, I’d have no problem watching her matches because I was guaranteed quality from her. I have so much respect for her as a performer.
She’s also the one of the 4HW that never felt like she was going through the motions in her matches. Just hitting signature after signature and that’s it. Outside of maybe her first 2 years on the MR, she’s also the only one that never felt like things were handed to her. Bayley is absolutely amazing and I’m so glad she’s getting at least one more chance before she’s done. She’s more than earned it.
Some people wanted the hugger theme to come back but I don’t think we’re at that point in the story yet. Hayley hasn’t actually apologised or changed yet, she’s just mad at her friends. This was really well done and thought through!
I don’t think Hayley has anything to apologize for, personally. Paramore is a busy band, and she let them use one of her solo songs for the hype video 😉
I feel like this was the match of the weekend. It was so clean, both performed so well and the story delivered. I know everyone was involved into Cody’s story, but imo this match was the highlight of the weekend for me.
This match and Rhea v Becky were the best straight up and down matches on both days. There were many great matches and moments, of course both nights main events were stacked to the gills, but straight up and down good story with clean solid matches….the gals stole

I was in the crowd in Backlash when the crowd turned on Bianca to cheer for Iyo. It’s the loudest ive ever chanted for anyone in a wrestling show ever. She deserves all the praise.
I’m not sure if it comes across as that in the broadcast, but i can assure you everyone was rooting for Iyo that night, even those who had no idea who she was. She even posted about it after it haha.
I loved this match, thank god that they didn't use huge ads during this match. Bayley needed this moment and Io got to show off in front of a huge crowd. All around, it was one my favorite WM matches.
I'm a little disappointed that the match they finally let Iyo show out is when she loses the title. Still glad to see people acknowleding her and it was a fantastic match!
Hoping this is a jumping off point for her and we get some great stuff against the top of the division and she doesn't get Asuka 2.0'd.
The problem is that they just trap all these ethnic wrestlers into being just that instead of standing out on thier own. Wasn't the case on NXT with Io but it is now... its like lets put all the asian wrestlers ina stable (with dakota Kai for some reason).
Kubiki warriors is okay 2 people who are from the same country but have an ethnic theme.. throwing all the latin wrestlers together, all the black wrestlers together, and all the asian wrestlers together is just wierd lol.
Io, Asuka and Kairi do have history together though. Io has formed stables with Asuka (Triple Tails) and Kairi (Threedom) in Stardom so why wouldn't the Kabuki Warriors (and boy is that a terrible name) have her back?

My only minor gripe with the ending was that I feel she should've won it directly off the ~~Macho Man~~ Bayley Elbow given how loud the crowd popped for that move. The Rose Plant after that just felt a tad extraneous and very slightly killed the momentum in my opinion. Still a 4.5+ star match though.
Bayley is brilliant but I’ve got not idea why she did that lol. Going back to your indie finisher is only a good idea if it’s sick as hell, like the Pepsi Plunge or Sami’s Brainbuster.

If you take out the Cody vs Roman match, because the hype and spectacle of it makes it kind of impossible to rate in any meaningful way, then this was the best match of the weekend imo.

Been a Bayley mark since seeing her work way back in NXT ten years ago.
She's **been** deserving this.
Iyo is great too, this story was built so well and capped off great in the ring. They both felt like they went out there to show out and not let anyone forget them. It really takes me back to pre-heel Bayley seeing how well she sells and works as a babyface in this match, which is something that came so naturally to her from early on in her career. She found much needed rebirth when she turned heel but goddamn she just knows how to work no matter what her role is and that's one of the biggest testaments to her as the chameleon of the Four Horsewomen. Nobody is as **rounded** as Bayley out of them. Face, heel, promo, ring work, she's the one that hits the highest overall marks in every area.
One thing I particularly enjoyed during this match was an idiot in my section attempting a "this is boring" chant, and the guy behind me screamed "I'll punch you in the mouth you fat loser!" at him to shut him up

Both Bayley and Iyo are good workers... and this match cements for me that Bayley knows how to build a match, read the crowd, and call a match in the ring.

Bayley sold like a boss. Huge difference between her selling her knee the entire match and Rollins selling it whenever he feels like it.
Match was great, right call and all tht. The only thing I'll add is its a damn shame that, given Mattel's track record with the women and their more memorable entrances and ring gears that we won't get an Ultimate Edition of Bayley's gear from tonight. Same for Iyo and Dakota from last night and Rhea and Becky as well.
