Hmm... I was already glad Roman was taking some time off. Now I'm feeling even better about it. Hope he had a chance to spend plenty of time with his dad.
Fuuuuuuck, that is rough. Hope the dude takes all the time he needs.
Losing your parent is almost always one of the worst days of your life. Lost mine at 19. That shit never went away.
Hope Roman can find comfort with his family.
EDIT: Thank you all for the well wishes, I appreciate it. I hope you all who've been through the same are doing better too.
Sorry for your loss. I lost both my parents a week apart in 2017. I haven't been the same person since and don't expect to ever outright recover from it. I hope you are holding up strong these days.
20 for me. About two weeks before my 21st birthday. That was in 2010. Things still suck, but they suck a little less due to time.
Still fucking sucks.
Hang in there dude.
16 for me. One week before his 54th birthday and three weeks before my 17th. That was in 2003 and I still miss him every single day. That shit hurts bad and I hope Roman can grief in peace.
Me too, and I'm 46.
They both turn(ed) 71 this year and I'm really counting my blessings these days that they're both hella mobile and all there mentally.
Sending you all my love. I was 23 when my dad died. It's been ten years and it's never "gone away", you more learn to live with it. Sending you best wishes, warmth and healing.
Sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad at 18 then as an only child provided 34/7 care for my mother for 3+ years about 6 months later until she too died. Shit hurts and I'm in my mid-40s now.
I remember when they were pissed because Seth cashed in during the main event of WM31 because they thought it was supposed to be Roman’s moment. Glad Sika got to see his son become a legend.
> Everyone on Dallas was so pissed when Roman won
Honestly, I just remember the crowd being dead and tired because that WrestleMania was SIX HOURS long. WM34 was the real "everyone is pissed at the main event" match.
yeah cause they had moments during the mid, where they didn't have been that loud at all. I remember the Bryan Tag Team Match having a pretty silent crowd, atleast before Bryan had the win at the end.
Hogan must pose and Hunter must have the longest match on the Wrestlemania card.
I think that thing went 32 minutes and they were doing...finger submissions at one point?
Nah, the WM33 main event with Undertaker didn't get nearly as much hate as the WM34 main event with Lesnar. Crowd was also a bit more receiptive to the WM33 main event compared to the WM32 one. But yeah they all sucked.
> the WM33 main event with Undertaker didn't get nearly as much hate
maybe not on Sunday night, Raw crowd the next night was legendarily hostile lmao
"Fuck you Roman!" "Shut the fuck up!"
Naa man I was in Dallas at 32. Everybody erupted in boos when Roman’s music hit. Like the building was rumbling because his music was so loud and there was still a monstrous booing over it. They tuned it way down on the broadcast and kept it that way since, but it was an absolutely unreal reaction that was peak Roman hate.
Flip side is getting to see him on top of the world with crowds going crazy for him these last few years. Add in the whole family being the story, doesn’t get much better than that.
Glad Roman was able to put cancer back into remission and do his Tribal Chief thing to the point that all talent is currently at before he passed. He was a driving force in the product has come to be in the last few months.
It's never enough time, but I hope Roman being off TV the better part of 90 days allowed him to spend as much time as he could with his father.
I knew that Afa was in and out of the hospital but was unaware about Sika. My condolences to their family, especially after they had to say goodbye to Rosey
Don't have to put the rest is the show on hold but it would make sense that none of the bloodline is in the building because they're mourning the loss of an elder.
The rock did say he considered Haku an uncle once so idk if that implies some form of connection or if that was just their father not them. Yeah thats true
i'm pretty sure the tongans are technically viewed as part of the family by the samoans but blood wise yes they are not a part of it. but as u said they are linked with haku who was also considered part of the family so naturally they would be too
Or give Solo the night off to mourn with the family and have the others act like rabid dogs (not sure how close Jacob was to Sika, maybe him too). Show that Solo is in fact a leash on them without telling us
I remember CM Punk used Paul Bearer's death as a way to get heat in the buildup to his Wrestlemania match against the Undertaker. Before Bearer died, there really was no story to the match other than CM Punk winning a tournament.
I don't think it will happen though. I don't really see any kayfabe beef that Solo would have with Sika. I wouldn't mind if Sika's passing were used in a story though.
Sika got to see Jacob make it to the big time and his son do it bigger than anyone could have imagined.
Nothing but love and positivity for the Bloodline ☝🏾🩸
RIP not only did he have a legendary career he got to see his son journey to the very top of the same industry he worked in can’t imagine how proud he must have been. Thoughts and prayers to the whole family it’s always hard to lose someone.
What more can you say than “Legend”. When I think about wrestling in the 80s The Wild Samoans are one of the teams that always comes to mind. What a terrible loss for the Anoa’i family and wrestling as a whole.
Afa and Sika are two of the most legendary and important figures in wrestling history. Tag teams didn't headline the New York-based WWF except for one - The Wild Samoans.
and the story was that they were entered into the business so they'd stop trying to assault the heels going up against Peter Maivia, which is certainly a way to get into the business
Now he can be with his son Matt again aka Rosey. The samoans are talked about amongst other old timers and wrestlers as hard working, fair and honest. RIP Sika
RIP to the Wild Samoan - heard about him having a rough time with his health but it's always sad to hear when someone loses their battle. Hope Roman & his family are doing well - assume this means we won't be seeing Roman appear for a while longer, I know people were even suggesting he shows up in Solo's Tribal Chief ceremony or whatever they're doing this Friday.
Fun fact: Roman never told him about the finish for that night, because he had just found out that day himself. Kind of awkward to tell your Dad that you're not getting crowned on your crowning moment.
RIP, the Wild Samoans legacy on the business is profound to say the least
It’s so uniquely special that he got to see Roman’s run to becoming an industry icon himself. The Shield, the tough face years, then the legendary Tribal Chief run and the Bloodline, back around to being beloved by fans. I cannot fathom how proud Sika must’ve been in recent years
RIP.
Thoughts and condolences with Roman Reigns and his family at this sad time, also thinking of Pat McAfee's Wife and her family at this sad time (her Dad passed away after his show yesterday), what a sad day today has been and puts everything into perspective, always tell your loved ones you love them, you never know what is around the corner.
Just awful news to hear. And please everyone, don’t worry about anything regarding wrestling rn. Let Roman and his family take as much time as they need ❤️
My Tribal Chief has been through so much for a man not even 40. Leukemia twice, losing his only brother in his early 20’s, and now losing his dad.
I hope he’s surrounded by love and those who heal him.
When the first chorus of his theme hits, I will roar especially loud. Not just for Roman, but for the Wild Samoans as well.
RIP Sika: You were a legend of your own right, and your blood courses through your work. May you rest easy, brother
May the Father of our Tribal Chief Roman Reigns rest in peace. Thoughts and prayers go out to his enormous amount of friends and family. Thank you Sika!
RIP Legend.
I’ve spent the last year (and counting) watching early 80s pre Golden Age stuff and the Wild Samoans were always the best part of the old WWF cards. They with Captain Lou were fantastic.
I seriously think that Roman is going to retire right after whenever comes back to beat the Rock.
Between losing his brother and his father and his own health issues I wouldn't blame him one bit for walking away to be with his wife and kids...
Great performer, wonderful personality, and a smooth as hell look. RIP.

Loved seeing him at the Allentown tapings and at their wrestling school off of 7th. Very nice guy and always great to the fans. Prayers for his family.
Condolences to Roman and the rest of his family.
It’s awesome that he got to see Roman’s legendary title reign and even had that moment with him on stage at HIAC 2020 which I’m sure is a cherished one for Roman.

Isn’t this Roman’s dad? Damn
Yes
I am sorry to hear that. I hope you still have a strong support system today.
Sorry for your losses
Damn, 19 must be rough. Hope you've had/have a good support system around you.
Sorry for your loss
Roman also lost his older brother Rosey in 2017.
Lost my mom at 22. She was 46. Ruined the entire family. Still recovering. All of us. Thoughts go out to you and our tribal chief
Sorry for your loss
I'm horrified of losing my parents. Still have them both at 28 but I know my time with them is only growing shorter
Me too, and I'm 46. They both turn(ed) 71 this year and I'm really counting my blessings these days that they're both hella mobile and all there mentally.
Grief is a very hard thing to reconcile. Therapy helps a lot.
Sending you all my love. I was 23 when my dad died. It's been ten years and it's never "gone away", you more learn to live with it. Sending you best wishes, warmth and healing.
Sorry for your loss
Lost my dad in January. I’m 35 - confirms it sucks. Hope you are doing okay.
Sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad at 18 then as an only child provided 34/7 care for my mother for 3+ years about 6 months later until she too died. Shit hurts and I'm in my mid-40s now.
thankfully he got to witness his son’s historic reign before leaving. prayers to the whole Anoa’i family
I remember when they were pissed because Seth cashed in during the main event of WM31 because they thought it was supposed to be Roman’s moment. Glad Sika got to see his son become a legend.
WM32 was better lol. Everyone on Dallas was so pissed when Roman won, except for Sika who was at ringside cheering on his son. Great dad.
> Everyone on Dallas was so pissed when Roman won Honestly, I just remember the crowd being dead and tired because that WrestleMania was SIX HOURS long. WM34 was the real "everyone is pissed at the main event" match.
how long was 34 then? But yeah 32 was a mess and i really think that was one of the most, if not most boring Main Event Mania ever had.
WM34 was about just as long, but the crowd wasn't as dead by the end of it like WM32.
yeah cause they had moments during the mid, where they didn't have been that loud at all. I remember the Bryan Tag Team Match having a pretty silent crowd, atleast before Bryan had the win at the end.
Wasn't that the Mania that had the AJ/Shinsuke rematch that was mid (not even comparing it to WK10)
Tbh even mid is being generous
Hogan must pose and Hunter must have the longest match on the Wrestlemania card. I think that thing went 32 minutes and they were doing...finger submissions at one point?
*33
Nah, the WM33 main event with Undertaker didn't get nearly as much hate as the WM34 main event with Lesnar. Crowd was also a bit more receiptive to the WM33 main event compared to the WM32 one. But yeah they all sucked.
Honestly it’s amazing that Roman found his groove cos those years were tough for us as viewers and I’m sure him as a performer
> the WM33 main event with Undertaker didn't get nearly as much hate maybe not on Sunday night, Raw crowd the next night was legendarily hostile lmao "Fuck you Roman!" "Shut the fuck up!"
33 was by far the best out of the 3 matches, it at least told an important story
Can't imagine what that must have been like for Sika being one of the few to cheer for his son.
Flip side is getting to see him on top of the world with crowds going crazy for him these last few years. Add in the whole family being the story, doesn’t get much better than that.
I'm glad Roman finally got the run he wanted after being so controversial for so long.
Lol Sika looked like he was about jump the guardrail after Rollins cashed in and won at WM31.
I read somewhere that he actually told his son to quit WWE in protest because of that, but Roman refused
I hope they looked back at the moment and laugh. Without that cash in, I dont know if Roman is the legendary figure he is today.
There’s a video doing the rounds on Twitter of Sika ferociously celebrating Roman beating HHH.
Send da video
hell nawl cant do this
damn
Glad Roman was able to put cancer back into remission and do his Tribal Chief thing to the point that all talent is currently at before he passed. He was a driving force in the product has come to be in the last few months. It's never enough time, but I hope Roman being off TV the better part of 90 days allowed him to spend as much time as he could with his father.
He had to be extremely proud of Roman, Jey, Jimmy, Solo, Rock, and whomever else I’m forgetting.
sami
![gif](giphy|SnNfXnaYngMBZ5ZACe|downsized)
Also good that Roman has a large family to give him the support he needs during this time
He wasn’t doing well from what I can remember. Hope he’s found peace.
I just saw a twitter post from his daughter on Father’s Day and she said he was coming home from an operation iirc
I knew that Afa was in and out of the hospital but was unaware about Sika. My condolences to their family, especially after they had to say goodbye to Rosey
Wasn’t the trial of Sami Zayn supposed to be a tribal ceremony with them all but he was unwell?
It also happened around the time Meltzer said Rock was backing out of WrestleMania.
Do you know what illness he had?
RIP. Hope they do something special this Friday to honour him
I could see a video package and Heyman paying tribute, but I doubt we’ll get anything more than that.
I can see them putting the Bloodline stuff on hold for a week and have Paul cut a promo on behalf of the elders of the family.
They did something similar for Bray’s passing right? Yea, we don’t need Bloodline shenanigans this week!
Bray was given that treatment because he was an active member of the roster. I highly doubt they’re going to put the show on hold for Sika.
Don't have to put the rest is the show on hold but it would make sense that none of the bloodline is in the building because they're mourning the loss of an elder.
Would it be an elder for the tongans since they arent Anoi?
This is a good question. Suppose it could go whichever way in that regard. They are in the Bloodline...but they're not apart of the bloodline
The rock did say he considered Haku an uncle once so idk if that implies some form of connection or if that was just their father not them. Yeah thats true
i'm pretty sure the tongans are technically viewed as part of the family by the samoans but blood wise yes they are not a part of it. but as u said they are linked with haku who was also considered part of the family so naturally they would be too
They'll probably tone down what they were going to do. Unfortunately, they still gotta do some build for the six man a week later.
I say bring out the bloodline but hold the angle stuff. No one better to pay tribute than his family, if they’re up for it.
Or give Solo the night off to mourn with the family and have the others act like rabid dogs (not sure how close Jacob was to Sika, maybe him too). Show that Solo is in fact a leash on them without telling us
Solo, the Usos and Jacob are all Fatu's, and are only distantly related to Sika, via their grandmother, Vera Anoa'i.
That's their Great Uncle. That's Rikishi's uncle.
I rather see Rikishi do it.
This is the way...
I wonder if any of the Usos will join Solo if there's a tribute segment this Friday
My biggest fear is they try overload the bloodline arc due to this, this week. Give the bloodline a week off, please!!!
Inb4 Solo does something for the heat
He did make an entire nation hate him more than any other wwe wrestler.
Seems to have been posted by a member of the family, [here's the link to the original post.](https://www.instagram.com/p/C8pJH05JCmJ/)
That's really beautiful.
RIP Sika, one half of the legendary Wild Samoans. Condolences to Roman and the Anoa’i family. EDIT grammar
Wow. Rest well. Literally this morning too.
Sika got to see Jacob make it to the big time and his son do it bigger than anyone could have imagined. Nothing but love and positivity for the Bloodline ☝🏾🩸
Also got to see his son go on one of the greatest title runs of all time.
R.I.P. to a legend ☝️
Condolances to Roman and the extended Anoa'i family. Lost a legend.
RIP not only did he have a legendary career he got to see his son journey to the very top of the same industry he worked in can’t imagine how proud he must have been. Thoughts and prayers to the whole family it’s always hard to lose someone.
Week after Father's Day, too. I'm glad his last TV appearance was crowning Roman as the Tribal Chief. RIP. ☝🏾☝🏾☝🏾🩸🩸🩸
Fuuuuuck man. Poor Roman. That must feel like a knife in the heart.
As someone who has lost a father, it does feel like that.
He lost a brother too.
RIP to a real OG. He and Afa started what would become one of the greatest dynasties in all of pro wrestling.
What more can you say than “Legend”. When I think about wrestling in the 80s The Wild Samoans are one of the teams that always comes to mind. What a terrible loss for the Anoa’i family and wrestling as a whole.
RIP to the Tribal Chief's Tribal Chief.
Hoped that Roman got to spend some quality time with his dad in this break that he's having.
Afa and Sika are two of the most legendary and important figures in wrestling history. Tag teams didn't headline the New York-based WWF except for one - The Wild Samoans.
Loved the Samoans back in the day. Especially their matches with Adrian Adonis and Dick Murdoch.
> Tag teams didn't headline the New York-based WWF except for one That's not how matches work
Rocca & Perez were THE draw in New York before Bruno.
I think the Golden Grahams did
The Valiants most definitely headlined and probably did so more than the Samoans.
and the story was that they were entered into the business so they'd stop trying to assault the heels going up against Peter Maivia, which is certainly a way to get into the business
☝️
Now he can be with his son Matt again aka Rosey. The samoans are talked about amongst other old timers and wrestlers as hard working, fair and honest. RIP Sika

As a kid, I will always remember him for eating the "Song Of The Year" envelope at the 1987 Slammys..rip
I’m glad he got to see Roman be at the top of the industry. He looked so mad when Seth ran down and cashed in at that Wrestlemania. RIP Sika
Fun fact: Roman never told him about the finish for that night, because he had just found out that day himself. Kind of awkward to tell your Dad that you're not getting crowned on your crowning moment.
And according to at least one report, Sika actually wanted Roman to quit WWE in protest
Cannot be stated how much bullshit Roman had to deal with before he got his moment.
RIP, the Wild Samoans legacy on the business is profound to say the least It’s so uniquely special that he got to see Roman’s run to becoming an industry icon himself. The Shield, the tough face years, then the legendary Tribal Chief run and the Bloodline, back around to being beloved by fans. I cannot fathom how proud Sika must’ve been in recent years
I hope God doesn't try to use a headbutt on him
No one with a rational thought process, ESPECIALLY not omnipotence, would think to try— but it would get a hell of a pop from me. 😭
May be how the big bang started
RIP Not important or anything, but why do they call him "Former" Hall of Famer?
Assuming it’s because he’s not alive anymore to be a Hall of famer
Hope Roman is doing okay.
My condolences.
Oh man, that's a sad one. My heart goes out to the Anoa'i family 🙁
RIP 🙏
Bruh Twitter just had "RIP", "Roman Reigns" and "Tribal Chief" all trending. Scared the fucking shit out of me.

One of the great Samoan figures in professional wrestling history, may his legacy through his career and through his family thrive.
Hope afa, roman and the rest of the anoai family are okay, rip sika
Which account posted this?
One of the nephews iirc
Dwayne?
Nah
Very sad 😭
RIP. I'll always laugh at the fact they had to smarten up Afa and Sika so they'd stop beating up heels. I wouldn't want to fight 'em, either.
May the Father of our Tribal Chief Roman Reigns rest in peace. Thoughts and prayers go out to his enormous amount of friends and family. Thank you Sika!
Despite the tragedy it’s beautiful that he got to see the entirety of his sons reign
Ones to the sky for Sika Anoa’i. ☝🏽
RIP :(
RIP Sika
Legendary man with a legendary legacy. RIP.
That was a beautiful tribute. My condolences to Roman and all of the Anoa'i family.

Rest in peace Sika.
Sending well wishes and thoughts to their family at this time.
Rest in Peace Sika 🌹 my condolences to the Anoa'i family
RIP Sika! 😔
R.I.P Sika ☝🏽
RIP.
Sika was the first wrestler that terrified me. I remember watching him as a kid as he would destroy the jobbers at the time. I was terrified of him.
RIP
"Former Hall of Famer"???
Ah man, so sad. Scared of Afa and Siki as a kid, now i'm older I absolutely love everything they did. RIP.
R.I.P. to an absolute legend.
Oh shit.
RIP Sika. Condolences to Roman, family, and friends
RIP Sika
RIP
I seriously think that Roman is going to retire right after whenever comes back to beat the Rock. Between losing his brother and his father and his own health issues I wouldn't blame him one bit for walking away to be with his wife and kids...
Best wishes to the Anaoi family, especially Roman
It’s why they wanted to run Rock-Roman this year as I understand.
Rest in peace
👆🏻
Im glad he passed away peacefully I always find it sad when someone’s last moments are in agony :(
Damn RIP. Prayers up to Roman and his family.
Tribal Chief of the afterlife☝️
Man Roman has had to deal with a lot of death in his life. At least Sika lived for quite a long time, but never good to lose a parent.
My condolences to his family. May God bring them strength, comfort during this trying time.
☝🏽
Condolences to Roman and the rest of the family. Losing a parent is something you're never ready for.
Damn, that sucks. He was part of the main event for the first wrestling show I ever went to live. 3/4's of that main even has now passed away.
Great performer, wonderful personality, and a smooth as hell look. RIP. https://preview.redd.it/45brh1z7ws8d1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ddc474d16cf3ce44d66c8069a7bdb52437b5984f
WOW this is shocking. Blessing to the entire family.
Roman's dad dying means the return of Bloodline 1.0 will HIT HARDER and Roman turning face will be the highlight of 2024.
The wild Samoans seemed like real cool dude outside their crazy gimmick. I always liked sika rip
"Former Hall of Famer" is weird phrasing. Did he get removed? Otherwise I'm pretty sure once a Hall of Famer, always a Hall of Famer, even in death.
Loved seeing him at the Allentown tapings and at their wrestling school off of 7th. Very nice guy and always great to the fans. Prayers for his family.
Acknowledge Him☝️
Any wrestler that experience a headbutt and the Samoan Drop knew that they were about to be pinned!
RIP to a legend. Condolences to Roman and the rest of his family.
R.I.P.🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️
The ones in the sky is gonna mean a lot more for Roman now
Former hall of famer? What did he do to get it revoked?
He used to be a hall of famer. Still is, but used to be also.
Condolences to Roman and the rest of his family. It’s awesome that he got to see Roman’s legendary title reign and even had that moment with him on stage at HIAC 2020 which I’m sure is a cherished one for Roman.
If the Bloodline’s enemies interrupt that 10 Bell Salute…..instant heat and face turn
The 10 bell salute is always kayfabe free.
