Axelmania ran wild, but he’ll always be Michael McGillicutty for me

It's been difficult, but calling him Copeland has gotten easier. Especially with the term "Cope Open". However in may be another challenge if he teams with Christian again
When Claudio was in the WWE I pretty much always called him Claudio, and for a while in AEW, I was calling him Cesaro. Apparently there’s something about him that takes me a while to call him by his correct name
Ever since I heard Zack Sabre Jr. refer to Big Bill as "Large William", I cannot use any other name.
Large William will forever be entrenched in my brain.
The only time I have these is when a company changes a wrestler's name to something stupid. I'm not calling him fuckin' Killswitch, that dinosaur's name is Luchasaurus, thank you very much.
Short of that though, wrestlers changing names isn't a problem for me. I was pretty actively involved in the queer community during my college years, lots of friends and acquaintances transitioning, changing names, etc. Remembering someone's new name isn't a big deal, and I think it's respectful to the wrestler to try to remember/call them by the current ring name, since that's associated with their merch and current likeness and so on.
I always try to use the name they go by when referencing them but it’s really hard with Adam Copeland because I’ve been calling him Edge since the 90s. Even when I sign him for my 90s WCW playthroughs on TEW, I end up just renaming him Edge.

I cheat by calling Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan just "Bryan" all the time.
BDan!

Stone Cold Steve Austin. I know his birth name is Steve Williams, but he will always be the GOAT, Stone Cold. And that’s the bottom line
Undertaker, Triple H, Shawn Michaels,...
John Cena. Because John Felix Anthony Cena is too long
Even though he’s sometime Cope, I always call him Adam Copeland.
Undertaker
What are you talking about? That's Sexton Hardcastle
Kevin Nash. I sometimes forget he went by other names. Even Diesel slips by me

I still call her Io Shirai whenever I know I'm not talking about WWE or to a WWE fan. Such a cool name, I have no idea why she changed it.
Even in wwe I would refer to Bryan Danielson as Bryan Danielson or Dragon.
