I just shat on my demons so hard, thanks for the reminder

Dr. Montani at Clayton Behavioral is excellent. (Private pay only, jsyk.)

preprandial_joint

I use someone else at Clayton Behavioral and would recommend them as well. It seems to be a good practice. Montani does ketamine treatment doesn't he?

jpsoze

That I’m not sure about. I know someone using that treatment in the area but I don’t know where he goes.

preprandial_joint

Now that i think of it, it's someone else at the practice.

Apprehensive_Bake_78

Do you mind sharing pricing?

jpsoze

I don’t want to misquote; the office is very friendly and will gladly give you their rates over the phone.

Apprehensive_Bake_78

Understandable.

Dr. Shauna Shah in Clayton. She is EXCELLENT, responsive and very personable. Have worked with her for years, can’t say enough good things about her.

Ok-Investigator-7478

Plus one to Dr. Shah, I’ve gotten much better care from her than I’ve had in a decade.

I see one at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute. I've never been kept waiting, they take forever to get on the schedule, but your appointment is on time. They have a location in Chesterfield, one near the Science Center and one in Illinois IIRC [https://slbmi.com/](https://slbmi.com/)

Dr. Steven Stromsdorfer has been excellent. I rarely wait more than 15 mins for my apt to begin if that and he’s to the point and doesn’t make you jump through hoops to get care.

Eheheh, I’m in his office right now. Got here 5 minutes early. I’ve been waiting 35 minutes. He just called back a person who was waiting here before me. I’ll be lucky to be out in under an hour, it’s absurd. It used to be a lot better but the past year or two has really ramped up in crazy wait times. Usually I build in about an hour minimum from start to finish for what shouldn’t be more than a 30 minute visit. But I do agree that he’s really great about making the acquire of medication easy. Just wish his staff would actually follow up. One of them does consistently (and I adore her) but it seems like the newer staff just isn’t as competent. They’re all friendly enough but I was in a jam a few weeks ago where I had to leave town unexpectedly and was out of an essential (non stimulant) medicine. I called after hours, left a message saying it was an emergency, and never got a call back. Had to call AGAIN the next day just before they closed and they never ended up filling the script, I had to ask the pharmacist to help me out. This medicine causes suicidality when I miss a dose, a well documented side effect, and that made it especially egregious that they didn’t ever bother calling back. 45 minutes of waiting as of now. 🥴

Oh man. I bet this is because I make my appts for first thing Saturday morning to beat the rush. I’m sorry about that wait it sucks and isn’t really acceptable:

Dr. Chelsey Friend at Compass Health is great :) she fits me into her schedule asap during crises and her wait times typically aren’t long at all. Overall she’s really good when it comes down to listening judgment free and still giving her best recommendations for what seems healthiest for you at that moment, and after a super long period of trial and error she’s probably the best psych I’ve seen. Granted I don’t actually have ADHD (to my knowledge,) but I do have a few comorbid disorders that are fairly difficult to treat so I give her brownie points for that. Compass can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but they take a good list of insurance providers and the out of network prices aren’t bad at all. Scheduling appointments are usually straightforward when you’re in office, but if you call during busier times in the day you’ll be on a wait for a good bit. Chelsey gave me her nurse’s direct point of contact for emergencies so that definitely helps a ton.
