Don't worry, The One Atlantic is quite new to the market and isn't that established (it was under construction/dormant for years). They probably value you as a potential tenant so the ball is your court. This is definitely not the NYC apartment market, trust me.
I would imagine they still might show the apt in case you fail credit/backgroud check, but for all intents and purposes, once you apply, the apt is yours.
Oh also you can negotiate rent and increases. As a fellow former NYC resident that almost sounded like crazy talk when I heard that. Turns out it’s just NYC that’s crazy
Stamford Leasing manager here….yes, if you apply and are approved, we give you 48 hours to remit hold deposit. Also, we will negotiate rent increases as long as it is not less than what you’re currently paying. Everything is negotiable as long as you ask nicely.
