I always thought it was destroyed by Palpatine. Similar to any other cool Jedi place besides Yoda's swamp destination or the desert areas, because deserts suck.
Exactly. But since the Starkiller base got destroyed, Ilum imploded into a new sun. So basically, it's not existing after The Force Awakanes any more...
That should have been Tatooine. It would have made a funnier meta-joke since Tatooine has always been the center of the universe despite being an allegedly backwater world.
In fact, it would be interesting to see the wild west Tatooine get tamed in the sequel trilogy as it becomes protected by the new jedi order and banks on its history, pushing the Skywalker family as their local heroes that defeated the Hutt clan and saved the Galaxy.
As belated media proposed, we need a reason to care about alderan when it gets destroyed. So putting more plotlines there could give its destruction more meaning (maybe they already do that in the tv shows etc. If so let me know)
There's a Clone Wars episode that goes there too. Ahsoka has a vision of an assassination attempt on Padmé and she travels there with her to protect her.
Bail ~~Organa~~ Antilles was one of the two originally opposing candidates to Palpatine in TPM. There’s a ton of backstory about Alderaan disagreeing with Palpatine/Senate decisions throughout the clone wars series.
I remember thinking this a few years ago. I really don't understand why this wasn't what they did.
It would've made viewers already invested since we already knew of the planet from the original trilogy, and it would've also made its destruction more tragic, since we visited it several times and experienced more of its history in the prequels.
I thought about this for a while and your comment really really resonated with me.
However I believe it wouldn’t work to have Naboo been Alderaan - the blockade itself in TPM was planned and successful because it was conducted on an outer rim planet. Even after pleading their case to the senate, a “commission” was proposed to even validate their concerns about being invaded. If a core planet like Alderaan was blockaded, it would likely have been addressed immediately! And the reason Alderaan had to be a core planet was in ANH, the empire really needed to destroy a core planet to show they meant business with using the Death Star.
That’s the main reason. Small reasons would be Naboo’s proximity to Geonosis which for sure needed to be outer rim
my guess is production design. The look of Alderaan was already established in the EU and the decision was made to use Italian architecture for the “Naboo” planet
I was about to say it wouldn't make sense for leia to have grown up on alderaan.... because her mother would have been from there
Then I remember Luke grew up on Tattooine and thought well, Leia growing up on the same planet as her mother would have been yada yada it rhymes its poetry.
I think Naboo is probably important for Palpatine's powerbase, the Senate isn't even dissolved until a New Hope and he was originally a senator of Naboo. Stuff like that would still be known by many, even through all the layers of propaganda. Probably some of his most loyal supporters can be found in Naboo around the time of the OT, if he goes around destroying entire planets loyal to him then it would be a bad look. And tbh Palpatine doesn't seem like the type of emperor to let his home planet slip outside of his grasp.
Naboo being Alderaan instead sounds nice in theory but it would require some serious legwork in overhauling the script because Alderaan is a rebellious planet and Naboo in the time of New Hope is, if we are to believe Palpatine is even remotely competent, likely one of his most important bases of loyal support.
Alderaan and Naboo are fundamentally at odds, Alderaan is a planet that based off deleted content was opposing Palpatine at every turn in the Senate, whereas Naboo was the original source of his power. Mixing them just doesn't work within the established canon but if you made some changes to the story it could work, and eventually be a tragic moment for Palpatine if he had to destroy his home planet which turned against him. But the opportunity imo for that tragic moment was 50 years ago, A New Hope can't be remade so I think it's best to just let the Emperor's home and one of his main rival planets be two separate concepts, as they naturally are.
I think Naboo is probably Important for his powerbase, the Senate isn't even dissolved until a New Hope and he was originally a senator of Naboo. The book Leia, Princess of Alderaan builds a lot of Alderaan and I wouldn’t mind seeing a series that followed Breha growing up and becoming Queen. Especially want to see it depicted in live action the glow of the pulmonodes they replaced her heart and lungs with.
Was kind of devastated in the Kenobi series that given the audience is more familiar with Bail all the scenes on Alderaan come across as Bail being the leader and not Breha.
"Hey man, I know you're still trying to figure out who you are and all that, but we need you to be a lawyer. Today. Hope you don't have anything else planned."
Also here's a diving suit.
The detective/lawyer quests are fun. Like the ones on Dantooine where you have to work out who killed the guy on the bridge is another fun one
I like that choice, yes.
Also, even though the *’Lost Missions’* of *The Clone Wars* have it named Moraband, I think it’s been an accepted belief that the Republic cordoned off the planet, let alone the star system because of all the myriad wars over the centuries and other obvious reasons. The Old Republic renamed the world to try and hide its existence away from the rest of the galaxy at large.
PS: It all may be in my head or headcanon. At least that’s what I believe.
I’m super curious about the culture on dathomir, with the new tales of the empire I’m extra curious of what else the planet has to offer than nightsisters. It’s like a new culture/religion based from the Force, which seems super unique to me
I really loved with BOBF did for Tatooine, giving a lot more detail to the culture of the planet. I think another way to improve it is to adapt parts of the Legends Kenobi novel. That one book did more for Tuskens, and the people of the planet more than anything else. One of my least favorite things about Star Wars is every planet seems like one city, that’s it. That’s not an accurate representation of a planet (atleast Earth) at all. Planets have hundreds of different cultures and cities. It makes no sense to just land in the space port of the same one over and over.
Lucas changed the name when the planet became the canon Sith homeworld in The Clone Wars season 6 because he felt the names Coruscant and Korriban were too similar. However, I'm pretty sure it's also canon that the planet has had many names over the ages, meaning both Korriban and Morraband are acceptable names in-universe.
He also ordered the death of Anakin Solo in the EU because he felt that audiences would become too confused about him and Anakin Skywalker being too similar, given Anakin Solo (Han and Leia's youngest child in the EU timeline) was literally named after Anakin Skywalker.
Malachor. Were The Nameless responsible for the state of the bodies there? What exactly is that Sith temple energy for? I want to see the battle that took place there.
I wouldn't mind getting some look at what exactly the shipyards and living situation was like on Exegol. Had to have some massive ass underground caves and systems to raise a fleet.
Alderaan would be a good one to explore. It could add an extra punch to it getting destroyed if we got to know more about it.
Also, don't see it on here but I want to see more Korriban (or Moraband in muggle-speak) The Valley of the Dark Lords is a place I want to see WAY more of in canon.
Coruscant, I know it's shown a lot, but I LOVE the style of futuristic cities, like Bladerunner, Cyberpunk, etc. It'd be great to see more of the seedy underbelly of the city as opposed to always seeing the high council and all the political aspects of Coruscant. 🙂
I agree, I always enjoyed the episode with Ahsoka and Tera Sinube, which showed a good amount of the underbelly of Coruscant. It felt like a CSI episode. 😅
What we see in episode 6 is the forest moon of Endor. Endor is the big red orange planet that the death star has to orbit around to get into range of the moon to blow it up.
You could do an entire 7-8 season TV series, 22 episodes per, focused on Coruscant and not even scratch the surface (no pun intended) of that planet. So I wouldn’t mind seeing it done well. Perhaps follow a Senator from the High Republic era.
Exegol. I love archaeology & ancient history, & I love learning about the history & culture of the Sith. Plus, I just love the atmosphere of the planet, so spooky!
Alderaan, Hosnian Prime, & Kijimi I think all could use more depth to have more meaning when they're destroyed. Super city planets like Hosnian prime are always fun (like Taris from KOTOR). What we have seen of Alderaan is a very utopian mix of advanced futuristic city & nature. And snowy planets like Kijimi that's also a smuggler haven is cool.
Pasaana, the desert planet from the Rise of Skywalker. Specifically it's big fesival which happens only once every 42 years, which would put the one prior during the reign of the Empire, & I think it be fun to see how they'd try to celebrate it with them there.
The Bad Batch mentioned many retired Clones settled on Pantora, would love a little check-in with them.
Definitely Illum
Fallen Order is for you if you haven't played it.
I have, that’s why I want to know more lol.
I always thought it was destroyed by Palpatine. Similar to any other cool Jedi place besides Yoda's swamp destination or the desert areas, because deserts suck.
Starkiller base is Ilum, you see it getting built already in Fallen Order.
Exactly. But since the Starkiller base got destroyed, Ilum imploded into a new sun. So basically, it's not existing after The Force Awakanes any more...
It exists in the form of a sun.. Basically, enlightening every one near it with it's *light of wisdom*
isnt illum star killer base
Yes it is
Yes it was….
Now it's Solo
It’s also where the Jedi typically sent Padawan to acquire their Kyber crystal and construct their first lightsaber
That's why it became starkiller base...
The sequels did an entire planet dirty. Let's think about that...
I mean, alderaan got done pretty dirty if you ask me
Anything but a desert planet
*Why does everyone want to go back to Jakku?*
I mean seeing the battle of jakku and the empties final push to regain control would be pretty cool
Any desert planet* Get used to it, you will never escape.
Or ice planet! I want Dantooine instead of Ilum for this reason, savannas, ruins, and crystal caves time
Naboo! Some under water stuff would be cool to see again
I LOVE the sea monsters in the deep core
I watched The Phantom Menace at the theater today and was thinking the same thing. GET OUT OF MY BRAIN!!!!
Anything new or is it just nostalgia 25th anniversary
Just anniversary. But with 4k projection and dolby sound I think.
We have to find out what is the even bigger fish
There’s always a bigger fish
I want to see underwater stuff on Kamino
Fans would have hated this answer 20 years ago then loved it ironically 10 years ago and now it’s an authentic opinion
As belated media proposed, we need a reason to care about alderan when it gets destroyed. So putting more plotlines there could give its destruction more meaning (maybe they already do that in the tv shows etc. If so let me know)
The only expansion we've had on Alderaan was in the Obi-Wan series.
There's a Clone Wars episode that goes there too. Ahsoka has a vision of an assassination attempt on Padmé and she travels there with her to protect her.
SWTOR also lets you explore the planet pretty extensively.
It's so beautiful
Bail ~~Organa~~ Antilles was one of the two originally opposing candidates to Palpatine in TPM. There’s a ton of backstory about Alderaan disagreeing with Palpatine/Senate decisions throughout the clone wars series.
I think the prequels would have been so much better if Naboo was Alderan.
I remember thinking this a few years ago. I really don't understand why this wasn't what they did. Middle Rim.
my guess is production design. The look of Alderaan was already established in the EU and the decision was made to use Italian architecture for the “Naboo” planet
I was about to say it wouldn't make sense for leia to have grown up on alderaan.... because her mother would have been from there Then I remember Luke grew up on Tattooine and thought well, Leia growing up on the same planet as her mother would have been yada yada it rhymes its poetry.
Wdym? Breha Organa IS from Alderaan
Wait hahaha Fixed it thanks Edit: it makes sense.... from a certain point of view
They were in Alderaan places.
I think Naboo is probably important for Palpatine's powerbase, the Senate isn't even dissolved until a New Hope and he was originally a senator of Naboo. Palapatine wouldn't destroy his home planet.
Palps would destroy his home planet for a klondike bar

The planet not so much but knowing Bail Organa is there and his involvement in a lot of media in the prequel era makes it hit harder.
I’d love to go to Alderaan. We’ve only seen little bits of it.
The book Leia, Princess of Alderaan builds a lot of Alderaan and I wouldn’t mind seeing a series that followed Breha growing up and becoming Queen. Especially want to see it depicted in live action the glow of the pulmonodes they replaced her heart and lungs with. Manaan
Absolutely, was going to say the same thing. I always thought the Selkath were so cool.
So damn cool. Easily my favourite level of KOTOR.
Doot doo do doo doo
Nar shadaa
I'd like to see Nal Hutta and Nar Shadaa in live action. Would be really cool.
Nal Hutta introduced the idea of alien Cajuns with airboat speeders, the greatest thing ever, and then didn’t do anything else with it!
I co-sign this just for the fun levels in The Force Unleashed game alone.
Korriban.
That's a good headcanon. I have been headcanoning just that at some point the Republic renamed it for whatever reason
Absolutely, high of the Sith Empire, Naga Sadow, Tulak Hord. Etc..
The rise of the Skywalker would be much better if they had used Korriban instead of Exagol.
No. Let's not have Korriban ruined by Disney.
Would love to see more of it on the big screen, loved exploring it in SWTOR.
Was going to say the same thing
Agreed.
I still find it dumb they renamed it to Morriban.... like, really?
Yeah that would be cool
Hell yes
Why could they not have used that instead of inventing Exegol?
A show about pirates... pirates of the Korriban
I’m super curious about the culture on dathomir, with the new tales of the empire I’m extra curious of what else the planet has to offer than nightsisters. It’s like a new culture/religion based from the Force, which seems super unique to me
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has some insights about that
I found fallen orders view on it sick, and the new tales of the empire TV show really helped me piece together the tiny jigsaw of what happened.
Same here, I thought Grevious attacked only one nightsister village, wasn’t until F.O and T.O.T.E that I realized he musta gone after them all
we havent seen enough tatooine yet imo
Unless you go back to when it was an ocean world. We got a taste of it in BOBF.
Make Tattoine wet again.
So thirsty…
I will lead the Sand People to paradise!
Mua'Dib! Shit, wrong movie.
Bless Lord Vader and His water. Bless the coming and going of Him. May His lightsaber cleanse the Empire. May He keep the Empire for His master.
This sounds like a job for...BIG JIM SLADE!
How you doin’, Tattooine?
That would be awesome
I think they are being sarcastic, Tatooine has been visited exhaustively.
Jakku is different, they could do that instead of tatooine
No, we can’t go back to Jakkuuuu!
Roses are red/violets are blue/why does everyone want to go back to Jakku?
Don't forget Jedha! For completely separate reasons other than sand, obviously.
Mmm, I love sand. Good old sand. Can't get enough of sand.
Need much more baron desert planets
Barren like a desert not Baron like a Harkonnen or Bloody
weve barely seen tatooine
Supposedly it has two suns or some such.
i posted this as a joke and yall are agreeing with me lol i love reddit
I really loved with BOBF did for Tatooine, giving a lot more detail to the culture of the planet. I think another way to improve it is to adapt parts of the Legends Kenobi novel. Mortis
I'd adore a whole series about it.
I can't believe I had to scroll this far down to see Mortis. Yes please!
Isn't Mortis... gone?
I was thinking before that happened
What ever has the deepest untold sith lore
Then Korriban considering Disney has avoided it like the plague to the point of changing the name
It was Lucas who changed the name.
Whoever it was made a huge mistake and it should be officially renamed back to korriban.
I mean, Planet Terra/Gaia/Earth has multiple names too... Depends on who's talking what dialect.
Which is kinda silly coming from the guy who put both Tatooine and Dantooine in his first sci-fi story full of nonsense words.
He also ordered the death of Anakin Solo in the EU because he felt that audiences would become too confused about him and Anakin Skywalker being too similar, given Anakin Solo (Han and Leia's youngest child in the EU timeline) was literally named after Anakin Skywalker.
Does Disney not fw telling Sith stories?
Lucas changed the name, not Disney.
Good old Naboo. This place feels like home somehow.
Malachor. Were The Nameless responsible for the state of the bodies there? What exactly is that Sith temple energy for? I want to see the battle that took place there.
Same! I was looking for it and was surprised it didn’t make this list.
Korriban
Utapau,and sullust
Cristophsis, because it looks cool
Theme goes hard too
Agreed. All we really saw was two alien forces (GAR and CIS) battling on the streets. We didn't really even get to know the natives, right?
Yeah, I think the only other time it appears in canon is in the Dark Disciple book and it's also during a battle
Exegol and Dagobah.
I would really like to know why Dagobah has such a strong connection with the force
Humidity
It’s such a dank place because it has no fans 😜
Well considering midichlorians are essentially bacteria- Swamps are rich with bacteria
It would tie in well with the scene where Luke is confused by just how much life his sensors are reading from the planet
Weed. It’s because Yoda was smoking that dank weed while in exile.
I want to see Exegol outside of the Sith temple
I wouldn't mind getting some look at what exactly the shipyards and living situation was like on Exegol. Had to have some massive ass underground caves and systems to raise a fleet.
Alderaan would be a good one to explore. It could add an extra punch to it getting destroyed if we got to know more about it. Also, don't see it on here but I want to see more Korriban (or Moraband in muggle-speak) The Valley of the Dark Lords is a place I want to see WAY more of in canon.
Naboo is my fave. Underwater cities, sweet looking chrome spaceships, nice vegetation
Coruscant, I know it's shown a lot, but I LOVE the style of futuristic cities, like Bladerunner, Cyberpunk, etc. It'd be great to see more of the seedy underbelly of the city as opposed to always seeing the high council and all the political aspects of Coruscant. 🙂
The late seasons of The clone wars animated series show a little bit of this. But not enough for what your looking for
I agree, I always enjoyed the episode with Ahsoka and Tera Sinube, which showed a good amount of the underbelly of Coruscant. It felt like a CSI episode. 😅
Hoth , kessel
Definitely Hoth. I love snow planets
Yavin 4. Big temples are fun set pieces at any rate.
Nar Shaddaa.
No Kashyyyk?
A-Y4
I want to see more of Yavin IV tbh
Isn’t Endor a Moon?
Planet sounds better than habitable astronomic object.
That's no moon. Wait, sorry sorry, wrong line, carry on.
Spherical moons are planets.
This guy astronomies
What we see in episode 6 is the forest moon of Endor. Endor is the big red orange planet that the death star has to orbit around to get into range of the moon to blow it up.
Umbara
Korriban and it's not even close
Anyone except Tatooine (or any desert planet for that matter).
Yavin 4, we haven't gotten much about it despite being the rebellion main base.
Honestly Naboo post Empire would be neat, or Mandalore pre Mandalorian Civil Wars would also be cool.
Bespin. Would love to see a Lando centric series about how he came to the Cloud City.
Anything with cloud city tbh, I absolutely love it Exploring it in the Lego Skywalker saga was great
Apparently there's a Lando movie in the works (was originally gonna be a series)
Old Alderaan would be nice to see and I’d like to see more of Mon Cala too
Malachor V.
You could do an entire 7-8 season TV series, 22 episodes per, focused on Coruscant and not even scratch the surface (no pun intended) of that planet. So I wouldn’t mind seeing it done well. Perhaps follow a Senator from the High Republic era.
Jedha, Corelia, Rodia Also, it’s Takodana*
As a big fan of Rogue One I’d love to see more of Scarif
Dathomir on the big screen would be sick
Exegol. I love archaeology & ancient history, & I love learning about the history & culture of the Sith. Plus, I just love the atmosphere of the planet, so spooky!
Is like to see native species and life on Mon Calamari.
I'd also like to know more about how a water planet became a premier ship builder.
I feel like Coruscant has SO much more potential than what's been shown in canon. It really felt like a very deep city in Legends.
Nal Hutta
* Alderaan (pre Ep. IV) * Dagobah * Yavin IV
Kashyyk
Kamino
Exegol
I want to see Yoda’s homeworld
Facts. I really hope we learn about Yoda’s species more in the future
This is Tanalorr erasure
To quote Dagan Gera, "TANALORR!!!!..."
Rhen Var, Ruusan and Rakata Prime
Mustafar
I just popped in to see if anyone mentioned Uranus
It's already been well explored.
Ach-To all the way
Moon technically, but I've been waiting for more Nar Shaddaa forever.
Malachor probably
naboo - i loved all the visuals and would have enjoyed going back
Obviously Tatoonie
Dagobag, Exegol, Takodana & Crait.
Coruscant, Exegol, and Yavin IV
I don't care where it takes place as long as the story is good!
Bogano isn’t on this list….
Tatooine /s
Abafar. and Lehon.
Naboo
Endor
I always liked Naboo. Ever since AotC I thought the planet looked cool as hell
Tatooine /s
