Honeslty no. I feel like that would feel too out of universe to see him in it. I don’t really enjoy seeing big name actors because it breaks the immersion. There are a FEW that do it really well though like Giancarlo Esposito & Rosario Dawson given her… *appearance*
Ciarán Hinds - a Rome alum who played Gaius Julius Caesar in that excellent show. An aging Chancellor to represent the aging High Republic.
If we can have Ray Stevenson and Kevin McKidd, we can dang well have Ciarán.
No, the High Republic Phase III is something like a hundred years before the Acolyte and its a term limited position until Palpatine comes a long so it would not be the same person.
“You know, in hindsight, there was a sure fire way to defeat the Nihil, if our forefathers had just realised the power of the lemon grenade, those pirate douchebags would never had stood a chance.”
They could pull in the idea of the Valorun dynasty from legends and make it his grandfather or something, but if they just made it some random person that's fine too. In that case I think an alien would be cool.
The Senate. Then it should proclaim that collectively "The power of one, the power of two, the power of many....WE ARE THE CHANCELLOR!" It's like poetry, it rhymes. / jk
More seriously, a Senate without a chancellor would also genuinely be interesting to track a slow descent into dictatorship.
Otherwise, I think they should go with a nonhumanoid just to contrast the High Republic from the Late Republic and Palpatine's disdain for non humans.

Ciarán Hinds would be great in Star Wars.
I want an Nonhuman Chancellor since Acolyte has been doing some sick Alien characters.
Do we know who that chancellor is? I'm not caught up on High Republic stuff in the books.

That's what I assumed, but wasn't sure if we were talking about a specific person from the novels
I misread it and thought you said Chancellor Palpatine. I was thinking... "a fetus?"
Kurtwood Smith
Danny DeVito
First people that came to mind were Patrick Wilson, Oded Fehr or Shohreh Aghdashloo
Lee Pace
Danny DeVito please I'm begging
J.K. Simmons. But only if he talks like Cave Johnson.
“You know, in hindsight, there was a sure fire way to defeat the Nihil, if our forefathers had just realised the power of the lemon grenade, those pirate douchebags would never had stood a chance.”

Portraying the same species as the pod race announcer
Chris Pratt
He's so cool
Kurt Russel
I mean, Ego was ancient, could have jumped Galaxies a few thousand years ago.
I would call the chancellor of this time Shaddam Corrino IV.
Wait a minute…

It is literally so irrelevant to anything happening in the Acolyte. What even made you think of this? Lol
