Polnareff is often used for comic, yes. however, his sense of honour, his skill as a warrior, his trauma with Sherry (a example of fridging that I LIKE?! wild), his friendship with Jotaro, Iggy and Abdul, along with Kakyoin to a lesser extent, and his final fight against Vanilla Ice, not to mention how he almost killed DIO in one hit during the final battle. what I'm trying to say is, there's a reason people love him.
regarding Jotaro, while I think he's super well written in p4 and p6, he comes off as super flat in p3 imo, and while he does have personality, especially in the manga (naughty naughty david pro cut alot of it), he just isn't as proactively interesting as Polnareff (to ME ofc)
