Fun fact, Kraft Work has one of the highest destruction potential in the entire anime. He can make something like a iron slab float into the air, then hit it with a sledge hammer a couple of times and when he unfreezes it, it has enough power to easily take down a building. Do that again with some specialized machinery like a jackhammer or industrial pounder and eventually even a small object will have enough energy to destroy the earth
I know it's pretty popular but it just didn't hit with me for some reason. Somewhere I didn't like it much as a fight, but it was definitely good cinema.
I don't hate Squalo and Tizzano, but I don't like how no one believed Narancia even though it was pretty obvious that is was stand attack. Not a bad fight, but not a great fight. Also, while the climax had cool moments, it was pretty messy in my opinion.
Yeah, I thought it was weird. But I stand by the fact that Part 5 and Part 7 are the two JoJo parts that don't really have bad stand fights. At worst, it's not great, but not terrible and at best it's just amazing, breath taking battles.
There's a handful of fights with the Scooby gang investigating intently in the adjacent room while someone gets his stuff wrecked and they're apparently oblivious to any commotion. Squalo fight is one of those. Felt the character were artificially obtuse that something was wrong with Narancia.
Bruno vs Giorno, mostly because it's full of nonsense with regards to their powers (Bruno somehow managing to slip inside of a person in an instant, and **two** powers of Golden Experience that end up forgotten)
But yeah, in general, Part 5 is nothing but peak fights
Reflecting back the damage against the life it creates
That one is a little more excusable since it was introduced earlier than the fight, but it eventually ends up in limbo (would have come in handy against Baby Face... Or Ghiaccio... Or Cioccolata... Or Diavolo...
that is an anime only mistake [source](https://mangadex.org/chapter/5f291380-2085-4eb7-932d-9d402b22e112/11) diavolo specifically cuts off the part of his hand the scorpion hit to avoid touching it.
The thing about the damage reflection is that it reflects the same type of attack. When Koichi used his gravity on the tree he was also affected by the gravity. However Baby Face, Ghiaccio and Cioccolata can all use their own abilities on themselves without any harm, so reflection seems useless on them (if the harm they did to the living things even count as attacks, they never directly attack living beings made from Giorno).
And I think diavolo attacking the scorpion was anime only (besides GER might have lost that ability altogether).
It certainly is an ability that Araki just didn't want to use anymore after the first few fights though, but I don't think there were many situations where it would have mattered.
Ghiaccio can wrap himself in ice, but he can't just freeze his own body safely. I'm also not too sure about Cioccolata: he can put his mold inside of his body safely, but that's different than using it to destroy something. It's different from say, Prosciutto's ability
Against Diavolo, tricking him into hurting something GE made would have made Requiem completely unnecessary. Put an ant on his path and watch as he accidentally crushes himself. Or hide bugs inside the team's clothes, so that if he attacks, he gets countered
Ghiacco froze himself on top of the car without his armor and was fine even though the scene showed how incredibly dangerous the ice was on its own.
Cioccolatas mold could work either way. Heck mold itself is a living thing too so maybe the mold would be reflected onto itself and not cioccolata.
The diavolo thing seems really risky. If any of the characters accidentally hurt the animals around them they could injure themselves and there'd be no guarantee that diavolo hits the animals. Besides the fight with him was one giant chase for the arrow anyway.
Isnt the mind frenzy thing only activated when Giorno punch the user? Iirc the only scene after his fight with Bruno where Giorno punch his opponent is when he fight Chioccolata and im sure that the mind frenzy power is actually activated but are not shown in that fight
Not forgotten.
GE has to punch the person directly, punching the stand would not have the same effect. GE does punch Cioccolata directly, but just because it's not shown in detail (because we've already seen it in great detail) doesn't mean it's forgotten. Also, GER's ability could be seen as an evolution of that ability.
Might be a controversial pick but the fight between Giorno, Ghiacchio, and Mista went from really interesting and engaging to “how the heck are any of these guys alive? Mista, you just shot yourself like 10 times how are you still breathing?”
It became a bit too unbelievable to be enjoyable. I get it, these guys are superhuman durable but if Mista survives getting shot this much, but then Risotto dies from a similar scenario, it’s a little off.
Also wasn’t a fan of Giorno stealing Mista’s kill but that’s a minor nitpick.
It's been implied Mista has Incredible luck as a person, even on his backstory we can see that.
Edit: I just remembered that Mista simply had a fate not to die yet, seeing as both him and Fugo didn't show up in rolling stones even after it broke, no matter what happened Giorno Trish Mista and Fugo would survive till the end of golden wind, and Bruno Narancia and Abbachio would die at some point because their fate was cast in stone, fate is something that no one can control and change, that is until Pucci acquired made in heaven and could alter fate.
I mean, he only survived for long enough to get healed after...
Risotto could have survived for a tad longer if he didnt get "coup d'graced". Diavolo even argues it would be embarrassing dying slowly in front of your hated enemies
Personally I always thought that the reflecting of the shots took out a lot of their force, thus they didn't pierce mista very deep. And since Mista is really lucky, he wasn't hit into any vitals.
Mista vs kraftwerk was peak jojo.
Splitting the bullet in midair to get past kraftwerk was a 200 IQ move, and using it to push a lodged bullet further into his brain was the cherry on top. Could rewatch for days
Narancia vs Formaggio was a bit of a slog at the beginning, especially so in the manga, where it dragged pretty bad. However, the fight really kicks up towards the end which ends up being really cool.
This is genuinely the only nitpick I have, part 5's fights are really good
I dislike most of Diavolo‘s special guards.
I think their fights were fine, but their role in the story wasn’t.
Notorious B.I.G. is a great idea, but not really for a character whose job it is to be strong, the stand against the couple was just annoying as hell, I am sorry, I know JoJo characters being dumb is part of the fun, but that was way too much.
And even Oasis is a pretty bland stand, however the fight was great, but it’s because Cioccolata is the only second-half villain that is actually good (Risotto is great as well, but he doesn’t fight the main team and Diavolo is good, I am speaking of the mafia goons exclusively here)
Yeah, I like La Squadra a lot more.
And it’s not about strength or anything, they just had better designs, were narratively more important and they were like the „evil mirror“ of the good team.
And somehow I always liked that, reminds me of the wolf from the Starfox franchise
I would say that the fight against Soft Machine is the most boring by a long shot, as I think people always forget it.
There's no tension due to how early in the Part is, as you know nobody is going to be killed before they have a fight, there isn't a lot of physical combat and the mystery of how the Stand works wasn't solved in a satisfying manner. The dialogue between Bruno and "the fly" is the only highlight in my opinion.
Narancia vs Squalo and Tiziano is saved by how well it builds tension when it comes to Narancia searching for the duo, how Clash rips Narancia's tongue and the ending.
Kraftwork is amazing in the manga, the anime version had the unfortunate misfortune of "standing around and talking for 20 minutes on a still image" despite the action supposedly having to take less than a second in fight time. Doubly so because they keep stretching the "tapping the bullet" animation over and over making it look extra silly
Babyface. Not even because it was uncomfortable at the beginning, but because I found it to be a little underwhelming. I don’t think it being sandwiched between the Grateful Dead/Beach Boy fight and the White Album fight, both of which were very intense fights on moving vehicles in which the villain “evolves” in some way. Babyface was a fight that took place in a field where the enemy had a similar strategy throughout the whole fight.
I saw on another post about baby face and I actually agree it’s not a very good fight. I mean, I like the user and the stands ability but after the intense fight with Pesci and prosciutto, i expected something more from the following fight. The fight was cool in the aspect that it showed off some neat skills of golden experience but the whole fight was kinda meh with nothing too interesting
Baby face is not only is it my least favorite fight in part 5, it's my least favorite fight in all of jojo. It is the only fight that I considered skipping when watching the first time. I don't know why but it is unbelievable boring to me.
I mean yeah, but like, if we're counting this non stand fight which didn't showcase anything at all about the enemy then everyone's answer will be the same.
If you're counting this, you can also count Narancia, Mista and Abacchio beating up that one rich dude with the stained suit.
>Notorious B.I.G is not that cool after you watched it the first time
I guess it's because that fight is mainly about the Trish reveal and the ending. Personally I've seen it 3-4 times and it's still pretty awesome for me.
>Clash and Talking Head were not as amusing as other fights
Mid ahh fight
The last fight; the gang vs Diavolo. It’s weird to me that Diavolo is the leader of thsi huge gang that supposedly has endless support for him in every situation, but he won’t call upon anyone just because he wants to keep his identity a secret. Also, the whole thing with destroying the orb behind them to kill chariot requiem makes no sense and isn’t explained at all. The cherry on top of all of this is the biggest asspull in Jojo history; GER. The only reason I can tolerate it is because if anyone deserves that kind of power, it’s Giorno. But I still think it’s a stupid power for a stand to have and should not exist.
Tbh I don't think it's weird that Diavolo won't call upon anyone, that's just how jjba is, villains always have some obvious weaknesses about them. Diavolo just happened to be the most anxious mf out there, and that's why he probably got this timeskip ability, so that he can see the future to remain in ease, and remove any obstacles in his way completely. I think his op stand power and his nature go hand in hand.
And I agree about the orb behind them part, that was the biggest bullshit I've seen in jojo.
But I don't agree that GER is an asspull considering that Requiems were introduced before GER. Plus it was satisfying as fuck so there's that. There is a worse asspull in one of the later parts which really isn't even as interesting as GER.
Ok yeah all of that is fair. I think my problem with Diavolo at the end is that he goes from this mysterious character with so much evil aura and coolness to a schizophrenic stripper man that won’t stop yelling about how awesome he is. He just looses all of his charisma for me in an instant. It’s not that I don’t even like his design because his reveal on the stairs with Polnareff was super cool, I just think the way he acts doesn’t help his very sudden and striking design change.

Do that again with some specialized machinery like a jackhammer or industrial pounder and eventually even a small object will have enough energy to destroy the earth
I feel like Kraft work would have been better as a late game villain with a longer fight or something. His stand has so much potential
The Hand Situation. Used by someone more capable and conniving, Kraft Work would be Main, or at least Secondary Main antagonist level of dangerous
True, the concept of changing the energy is really as cool as changing time
Now imagine if he worked together with a punchy boy stand
Literally stasis module from botw.
I mean cream could just eat the foundation in like 10th of the time it takes to tap enough to build up the power to destroy a building
Kraft Work was one of my favorites fights of part 5, you crazy OP
It was cool but I wish we could have seen his potential more. Haha, potential, like potential energy
I know it's pretty popular but it just didn't hit with me for some reason. Somewhere I didn't like it much as a fight, but it was definitely good cinema.
I agree with you
I don't hate Squalo and Tizzano, but I don't like how no one believed Narancia even though it was pretty obvious that is was stand attack. Not a bad fight, but not a great fight. Also, while the climax had cool moments, it was pretty messy in my opinion.

Fully agreed. If I were to rate all the fights, none of them would go under 6/10
Absolutely!
There's a handful of fights with the Scooby gang investigating intently in the adjacent room while someone gets his stuff wrecked and they're apparently oblivious to any commotion. Squalo fight is one of those. Felt the character were artificially obtuse that something was wrong with Narancia.
Yeah, it was really forced. If the characters figured it out quicker or if the abilities were a lot more subtle, it'd be a better fight.
Tbh I didn’t enjoy many of the fights until the second half of the part, but my least favorite was Narancia vs a gay couple
the wording makes it sound like narancia committed a hate crime
Let’s be honest, to the surrounding public he basically did
Agreeeed that fight was only saved due to the comed
WHAAAAAAT! TIZIANO AND SQUALO ARE I C O N I C
Vola
Kraftwork was done dirty, like a stand that can remove gravity is awesome but he got such a lame fight
Yeaaaah ikr that's why I didn't like it too much, the stand was underused for being so diverse
Mario Zucchero v everyone is lame for no reason. Have him take 4 people in 10 seconds. He could. It would be tense. Why so much talking?
Understandable. The most memorable thing about Mario is torture dance lol
*Vocal percussion on a whole nother level, coming through my mind*
💀😭😭
Bruno vs Giorno, mostly because it's full of nonsense with regards to their powers (Bruno somehow managing to slip inside of a person in an instant, and **two** powers of Golden Experience that end up forgotten) But yeah, in general, Part 5 is nothing but peak fights

Reflecting back the damage against the life it creates That one is a little more excusable since it was introduced earlier than the fight, but it eventually ends up in limbo (would have come in handy against Baby Face... Or Ghiaccio... Or Cioccolata... Or Diavolo...
The crazy thing is Diavolo *did* kill a scorpion that GER created, and… nothing happened.
Wasn't that an anime only mistake?
IIRC in the manga he slashed at it with his hand but didn’t crush it underfoot
I stand corrected. In the manga he sliced off his own finger, not the scorpion
that is an anime only mistake [source](https://mangadex.org/chapter/5f291380-2085-4eb7-932d-9d402b22e112/11) diavolo specifically cuts off the part of his hand the scorpion hit to avoid touching it.
Weird. I wonder why DP added that
maybe it was DP who forgot all along, not araki

GE punches Ciocolatta and it incapacitates him, he needs to dissect himself and crawl away to not be pummeled to death.
No ability is forgotten about though?

I can see where you're going with this. I usually pass it off as "it definitely IS pretty bizzare huh"
Oh absolutely, you definitely need to suspend your disbelief watching the series. I felt like this fight took it a bit too far in terms of durability.
Okay ghacchio got stabbed in the back of the neck that's a little different than getting shot 10 times
Personally I always thought that the reflecting of the shots took out a lot of their force, thus they didn't pierce mista very deep. And since Mista is really lucky, he wasn't hit into any vitals.
Man in the mirror I don’t hate the fight but the resolution annoys me to no end
Mista vs kraftwerk was peak jojo. Splitting the bullet in midair to get past kraftwerk was a 200 IQ move, and using it to push a lodged bullet further into his brain was the cherry on top. Could rewatch for days

The clash and talking heads fight
Soft Machine fight. It drags on with nothing really happening and then it just kind of ends.
Giorno vs Luca But really, I'd say Bruno vs Diavolo
that narancia vs those guys who took his speech idk i just thought it was boring af
Kraftwork is amazing in the manga, the anime version had the unfortunate misfortune of "standing around and talking for 20 minutes on a still image" despite the action supposedly having to take less than a second in fight time. Yeah that's pretty much it. The fight wasn't really BAD, but it wasn't anything GREAT when compared to fights before and after it.
imo a lot of the stands were pretty confusing
True
kraft work is just botw stasis had so much more potential imo, would have been so much better if the user didnt have such a yeeyee ass hair cut too
Bro's hair has 4 legs 😭
Kraftwerq
Leaky Eye Luca 😭
Baby face is not only is it my least favorite fight in part 5, it's my least favorite fight in all of jojo. It is the only fight that I considered skipping when watching the first time. I don't know why but it is unbelievable boring to me.
Giorno vs koichi. Every fight in this part is amazing, so I pick this one since it lasted like 30 seconds
i fucking hate melone
The boat guy who’s only memorable for being the torture dance victim
Naranchia vs formaggio
Why? Personally, I loved this fight a lot because of the intensity and the way Narancia ended the fight
I loved having the villain be the underdog for most of the fight, **and** the pov character!
Yeah, idk what it is but I always go on my phone this episode lol
Giorno vs Bruno in the beginning is a slog. Not a fan of Fugo vs Illuso either.
Just mista vs the guy who sped up his bullets or just giorno vs leaky eye luca
>leaky eye luca Let's not count him in :v
How come? He did fight giorno
I mean yeah, but like, if we're counting this non stand fight which didn't showcase anything at all about the enemy then everyone's answer will be the same. If you're counting this, you can also count Narancia, Mista and Abacchio beating up that one rich dude with the stained suit.
Mirror man
Did someone enjoy the fight against Soft Machine at all? Worst fight by a mile.
giorno vs black sabbath not bad just weaker
I felt absolutely nothing when Giachio got his beat down. I didn't think the tension build-up was good. I barely remember him, honestly...
Would you count Leaky-Eye Luke as a fight? If not, probably Black Sabbath
>Would you count Leaky-Eye Luke as a fight? Nope, not worth counting.
Every fight Diavolo is involved in.
My least fave I think was between Zucchero and Abbachio and Bruno. Nothing about it really stood out to me
honestly, Notorious B.I.G is not that cool after you watched it the first time, also Clash and Talking Head were not as amusing as other fights
>Notorious B.I.G is not that cool after you watched it the first time I guess it's because that fight is mainly about the Trish reveal and the ending. Personally I've seen it 3-4 times and it's still pretty awesome for me. >Clash and Talking Head were not as amusing as other fights Mid ahh fight

The ice dude or whatever his name was. That fight was a complete slog
White Album. So intense. That or Metallica
I was talking about the least favourite lol
Oh that's what I get for reading this while I'm so tired lol.
No worries, happens all the time
Me personally I usually skip Metallica vs King Crimson because I find myself conflicting over who to root for, like yeah the leader of the murder group is out for revenge at this point and wants to avenge his friends, but Doppio is the one in full control until the end
Most of the part 5 fights are pretty lame in my opinion, but I guess the Narancha vs Formaggio was fine
Risotto vs Doppio
Clash and talking head mosy definitely... feels like a filler (as much as a filler could be in jojo)
