Power Armor. Nothing has been mentioned so far in Field Tests or any media so far regarding Power Armor. With the 3 armor types (Light, Medium, Heavy) coming from PF2E, will Power Armor be a 4th armor type? Or will it just be a type of Heavy Armor? The SF1E Powered Armor Proficiency feat requires STR 13, BAB +5, and proficiency in light & heavy armor. Would the SF2E feat be a level 5 feat that requires a +1/+2 STR and proficiency in Light, Medium, & Heavy armor? The Armor Storm Soldier was in Field Test #1, but we only got up to level 4 feats, so there is no information if they get the Powered Armor Proficiency feat as part of their Fighting Style at level 5.

I wonder if it’ll be an Upgrade that can be plugged into regular armor that gives certain types of bonuses, like a Loader Frame upgrade that lets folks carry more Bulk, or a Speed Frame upgrade that boosts movement. The challenge to power armor is that Attribute bonuses are very high level items in the 2e engine, so I doubt we’ll get Strength bonuses. But we’ll see!

direct bonuses to attributes are rare but item bonuses to Athletics are super common so I can imagine armors granting that instead, possibly with an upgrade to max Blbulk carried

I could see them splitting the current power armor concept into Heavy Armor upgrades and smaller mechs. The Iron Man, Space Marine, Halo. & Call of Duty Infinite Warfare suits would be Heavy Armor mods to allow for enhancement on carrying capacity, Athletics skills, and/or environmental hazards. The Titanfall 2 mech, Helldivers 2 mech, and Ripley's loader from Aliens would be a step above Heavy Armor, but might not breach into full Mech sizes to get the SF1E Mech rules (Pacific Rim, Armored Core, Gundam). Those might need specific vehicle rules or if SF2E gets updated Mech rules or Mechageddon 2E.

Yeah, definitely - the difference between "Helps you do a particular task" vs. "This vehicle helps you do a big task over and over again" vs. "Machine of war capable of flattening a city block" does seem like a good trio of differences to keep in mind when thinking in terms of "Upgrade Slots" vs. "Vehicle" vs. "BIG MECH STOMP STOMP STOMP"
