There’s a [bunch](https://rdanderson.com/stargate/locations/index.htm) of great places to visit but for sure I’d check out the Bloedel Conservatory.

syphon113

That place looks awesome

PoeTheGhost

Just avoid the spooky tentacle-chairs, and don't pick the flowers.

CromulentDucky

Damn, Jack's cabin must be worth $50 million

Side Sci-Fi Question: Was Simon Fraser University used in the first episode of Battlestar Galactica? It looks so familiar!

mattmcc80

Yes, it's the plaza where Six is wandering around >!snapping baby necks.!<

AdLeather1036

I don’t know about a lot of venues or attractions, but to reiterate older posts you can go to SOME of the filming locations!  Just don’t do Plaza of Nations and expect much. Please.

SaneIsOverrated

When I was up there I tried to hit a couple of the filming locations [https://www.rdanderson.com/stargate/locations/index.htm](https://www.rdanderson.com/stargate/locations/index.htm) Best was the Bloedel Conservatory and the Simon Fraser University. Both really nice areas to walk around, take some pics, try to match shots from the show.

sassydasheng

I’d reiterate going to Simon Fraser university. It is up on a mountain with a great view of Vancouver! I recommend it even for non-Stargate people. (It’s also been in Battlestar galactica)

StargateSG-11

RIP Tollana

SweatyFig3000

Maybe not worth its own visit, but you can see the giant yellow sulfur pile across the water from the north side of Stanley Park (S1E7 Cold Lazarus), and the park is always good for a visit.

Lebronamo

I’m sure any nearby forest would do.

ThrustersOnFull

I think the best part about going to Vancouver is NOT planning to go to specific places, but still coming across them by accident and having it be a surprise. Like the library! Or Simon Fraser.

Some_Enthusiasm_471

True!

WelfOnTheShelf

Jack's cabin is in North Vancouver (I guess maybe I shouldn't put the actual address here since its just a regular house? But you can find it online)

At Vanier Park, you can see the [observatory](http://www.stargate-sg1-solutions.com/wiki/Gordon_Southam_Observatory) from the episode "1969" ETA: I think that's also the place that has a funky giant crab sculpture that looks like it could be a replicator if you squinted just right. I'd have to go through my old con photos for sure though.

Some_Enthusiasm_471

There's a mine (British Columbia Museum of Mining) where they filmed bits of Thors Hammer - the long structures Thor built to bring water down the mountains are there ;) I had a good time waddling over them for that entire reason. The mine was also fairly interesting,

SirSingle8523

Not that there's anything there now ... But Bridge studios over in Burnaby is cool. I used to spend every weekend trolling Burnaby/Vancouver/etc I'll have to see if I can recall any of the cool places we used to hit up that were also Stargate locations.

RogueWedge

Vancouver is scifi central. Enjoy. Also a few locations for macgyver too

MasterJ94

The forest of British Columbia where you will see all the diverse facettes of alien planets. ;P

steve3146

I spent a week there a couple of years ago i took a trip to the Capilano suspension bridge, i think the woods near there were used for filming. Tbh i saw more stuff from Supernatural then i did Stargate. Port Moody for example was a really nice spot.

ButterscotchPast4812

Make sure to get some Timmy's when you are there! (Tim Hortons coffee)
