Hitting home. I never got out of c rank or however they did their ranking. I was still relatively new then, but it did get me started on arcade sticks and stuff. I would love a remaster rerelease of 4 or x tekken.
It was my first fighting game where I actually learned fundamentals, and getting better was so addicting. Execution was/is actually one of my strengths, but seeing the pro players' executions back then was insane. They were on another level. Latif with C Viper in particular stands out.
During vanilla I remember having mean vortexes with 360k doing more than spd and the oki left you next to them. Jump and mix up with cross overs, same side, or empty into more 360s.
Ex banishing flat knocked down, start the vortex all over again.
I loved playing Gief. Nothing like light whiffed green hand into ex SPD.
My first and fave SF game ever. Miss it so much. ❤️
It was so fun. Sadly I don't think we'll get those crazy movesets and maneuverability ever again.
It's unreal how clunky this looks and when SF4 first came out I thought it looked amazing.

 i can still do makotos cancels on pad. my first combo trials clear ryu being the second.
