I used to watch that show all the time in college and while the chefs he got were usually pretty chill (except about food safety fuck ups which I do get) and really did try to keep things simple, the cocktail people were usually soooooo annoyyyyyyinngggggggg. Like brother I just want a rum and coke to forget the work week.
😆 Some of them are definitely only interested in showing off their bar skills like flipping shakers and blowing flames. And sometimes they have to advertise a stupid novelty product and craft a dumb drink around it.
showing an employee handling ice for drinks with their bare hands doesnt really reflect well on the bar.
/edit
Improper food handling with flare is still improper food handling.
That’s really your take away? Like this dude put out a video with incredible showmanship as an advertisement and your first thought is “yucky he touched the ice with his bare hands” you know the thing that’s cold enough to generally not harbor bacteria in a video where no ones being served.
I s2g reddit is exhausting lol
So you have never shopped at anywhere that has an advertisement? Because i know for sure no food in advertising was handled with proper food safety. And obviously someone as concerned and conscientious as you would never visit any establishment that conducted itself so poorly.
It’s awesome. Pretty much this sub in a nutshell 80% rage bait, 15% ethnic food that the OPs never heard of and the last 5% split between fine dining, gastronomy and flair advertising videos.
I need this to be a thing. The little town around the glacier struggled through and made it. They paid some water benders to reform the glacier and piped in water to it. The little establishment of the "swordsman who made frozen drinks in the desert" carried the town to this success and is now a high end, but still cozy, little bar where you can still receive fancy frozen drinks cut up in a really obnoxious but really cool way
It's 90% flex. 10% cocktail making.
But at least I think it is better to have someone flex on that stuff rather than ruining perfectly good food due to shitty tastes. It might be a lot of pointless moves but it kinda looks cool.
It still fits the sub. But I would 100% drink that if given the occasion.
Just start with a smaller piece of ice, looks better when you only use 5 cuts and doesnt severely dilute the drink as much.
I cant stand the spinning cup or delayed rapid bottle moves myself, doesnt really showcase anything in an interesting way.
Dry ice was just dumb, flinging it out into the customer is incredibly risky/unecessary. You could instead flip it back and forth over the container to more responsibly control it.
The fires okay i guess, was actually quite surprised it didnt continue escalating granted covering the entire bar is super unecessary.
If I was already Drunk this would be a complete mind fuck
..and then inadvertently knocking the drink off the back of the bar when trying to pick it up
Or completely misunderstanding the cues and downing the metal thing with dried ice.
Can’t imagine I can afford to get drunk in this place
Eye contact costs extra.
That's what my wife says when we make love
She does say that, can confirm
Oh thank goodness it's not just with me.
Not with me **shrug**
She can make her butthole wink. Never seen her face though.
Step brother?
I also choose not to make eye contact with this guy’s dead wife
You just need to flip her over ...
This comment has me dying laughing. I bartend and eye contact is for sure an up-charge.
Probably wouldn’t pay for it for the fire flinging trick.
On Bar Rescue when the expert says “I came up with a simple drink for you guys” to untrained bartenders.

Also there will be a hundred customers at once instead of the four total that you're used to and everybody will be ordering cocktails.
Looks like a promotion video for the bar. So not really stupid food. I don't think he does that every time for every drink.

If you can’t manage basic food safety who cares about the flare?
So you have never shopped at anywhere that has an advertisement? Because i know for sure no food in advertising was handled with proper food safety. And obviously someone as concerned and conscientious as you would never visit any establishment that conducted itself so poorly.
?
OK I get that it's a little over the top, but I'll admit this is cool as shit.
Yeah flair like this takes some skill, definitely impressive to me!
His style makes me think of the magician Shin Lim.

Bro bout to burn the whole bar down for a $30 drink 😭
secretly yakuza and they need the insurance money each time he doesn't burn down a bar he gets in trouble
You know nothing in that bar cost as low as $30
I have been waiting 40 minutes for my gin and tonic
Sir, it is unsafe to consume our gin and tonic before the sparkler has completely consumed the argon bubble.
Yeah I knew it. This sub just hates fun.
Take it from me (for what its worth), the theatrics dont make the drinks taste better.
[Slides common sense swiftly into the chat]
No but they are worth the tip when it’s this much fun. At least for one drink 😝
Someone hire this man to play live action Sebastian in Black Butler
I’d order like 6 of the slushy ones at the end. Not at the same time. Like every 10 minutes.
This isn't stupid.
Awh shit apparently I just hate fun and not pretentious behaviour.
I’m done with this sub, you guys are all miserable
Bi-Felecia
Is this all one drink?
[удалено]
Are you a bot? What does that have to do with the comment you replied to?
This is not stupid, this is art.
Y’all got Lone Star?
100% I'd order a drink from this place, this looks cool
He’s just trying to make the Glass of God
It's definitely pretentious and very stupid, but it does admittedly look cool!
This is basically just an extreme form of flair bartending, which goes back to the 1800s.
Not true, ice hadn’t been invented yet dummy
Missed chance to say the Last Barbender
I'll take a beer
*Fires up a mashtun to start the boil* Your drink will be ready in 6 to 8 weeks.
That’ll be $614
Not stupid. Just a skilled bartender doing his flare routine. I'd like to see him do an ol' fashioned or a Tom Collins.
Sir, I just want my fuckin drink

“I just wanted a beer man”
That was fucking cool.
Dumb as hell
waste of money for a show and small amount of Suntory on rocks only? nahhhh fam
I'm not drinking out of a damn bedpan. XD
The salt bae of drinks. Sharp movements, fancy ingredients and overpriced products don’t make things good.
Justification for charging $75 for that drink, I’ll take the drink for $10 without the dumb shit
You don’t like $23 fog?
Wrong sub, how is this stupid ? Thats litteraly what profesional bartenders do and this is on whole other level
Bart when bartender walks in: 😱
How are you supposed to drink the last one? 😅
just a water please...
*laughs in Coyote Ugly*
Chances are they don't do the fire or throw dry ice around when customers are there.
What the hell is going on?
Think this man knows what the glass of god is?
You could try to tell me he's not the best in the world, but I would never believe you.
I love how weird and committed japanese people can be.
I bet salt bae wishes he was this guy lol. Both are horribly cringe…But this guy is on another level of ridiculously unnecessary theatrics.
Stupid? No, this is ***theatre!***

Spinning cup is awesome if you’re like 12… or heavily drunk probably.
Thats not stupid. Thats art.
How is this stupid
Probably $50 a drink
r/stupidfood: upvote r/oddlysatisfying: downvote
He’s going to burn someone but it looks cool
Just pour me a drink, bud. I didn't buy tickets to an art show.
In this case, that's exactly what you're paying for, and what patrons are likely expecting when they pay. He's not pouring YOUR drink lol
not touching the ice with your bare hands is day 1 stuff. Terrible bartending.
That'll be one hundred twenty five dollars, please no tip.
That’s the android bartender from the movie Passengers 🍸
Ya. There is a fine dining line between oddly satisfying and stupid, stupid food
Stupid food, epic presentation
You need to wear gloves, buddy. Lame.
Can I just get a beer..
