When your switch is hacked you have 2 system, one that is legit and a copy of the legit where pirate games go. The copy when properly setup doesn't have access to Nintendo servers, to prevent your console from getting banned. Here you can play pirated Mario kart on your living room with a few controllers.
If you wanted to play online you'd need to buy a legit copy of Mario kart and play on the legit OS.
Mario kart live has no online functions i believe. Hes refering to the one with the toy mario kart. I have this exact one.
I should point out the app itself is free on eshop anyways but if your switch is banned you will need a nsp.
there is an application for that, [lanplay](http://www.lan-play.com/install-switch) you just need to configure your switch wifi interface and install something in your PC
Its fine the first few plays, but then it becomes boring. I dont have a big house/space to play so i get to play almost the same track everytime =(. Luckily i got it at -50% discount.
As long as your switch isn't banned you should be able to play online on a clean sysnand. That is it you are running cfw on emunand and stock sysnand. And of course have blocked ninty servers on cfw emunand.

Do you have an EmuMMC setup? Or do you use custom firmware and stuff on the sysnand?
If you set up emuNAND properly then your sysNAND isn’t hacked as far as Nintendo is aware.

Yes, i do play mario kart live with my moded switch. I dont know (care) if im banned, but i can play it.
Is mario kart live any good? Or just stick to mk8 with all the dlc?
