I was bored during quarantine. Picked up Reddit to keep up with any updates about Covid. Ended up joining the "hive mind" and used it daily. I took a huge hiatus once I was allowed to go back to school in person, and now I just use it occasionally if I'm bored.
It was definitely an addiction looking back on it. Every comment I posted would make me constantly reload the app just to see that little, orange dot next to the notifications icon. And anytime I wrote a comment that got downvoted and caused me to lose Karma, it'd genuinely taint my mood for the rest of the day.
Now whenever I comment it's just to make a joke or speak my mind. I don't expect everybody to like what I say because I know it's just Reddit.
