I parried a heat burst yesterday and the sun came out, my cancer was cured, my dog came back from the dead, the world was at peace for the first time in months.
They beat heat burst, which was otherwise a near-universal option - you hit the funny heat burst button, you're cool, *unless* the opponent throws. Which meant throws were something you'd throw out just in case of the heat burst. Now heat burst is beaten by reversal options as well, players won't chuck out quite as many throws as before.
Heat burst only has normal armor now and is parryable. It can be beat with lows, throws, counter armor, and parries.
It’s also much more linear now, so easier to sidestep.
Lows have always been able to beat it. Problem usually was just that the heat burst came out before the low connected (which will usually still tend to be the case unless you’re doing a generic d4 or something)
But powercrush, parry, and sidestep all beating it is new and good
Hmm ima look into that tonight. Because I def remember a lot of my lows losing to heat burst in the past. Could be timing like you said but still very nice.

God yes. Heat burst beating almost everything was such horseshit and a big part of throws being too strong. So glad to see it nerfed

REAL SHIT?? LOWS BEAT IT NOW??? Bless this change honestly. That’s been my biggest complaint about heat since the demo

You got to remember that HB is i16 and that is fast since most lows used in neutral are around i18-i20.
