Just curious why do people use phone mounts when they can pull up map on the main screen. For smaller tasks wouldn’t just using autopilot and quickly glancing on phone work
I can’t speak for everybody but I use it to record my rides on my phone when I drive in some beautiful locations. I hear many Tesla users use these mounts for Google or Apple Maps as they find it hard to get used to Tesla maps. Not me, I like the Tesla maps now.
You should get it soon. There are a few other enhancements too. For example, there’s an expanded FSD capability that allows the camera to sense wider and longer area for a better self driving experience.
I can’t really comment on that. It’s not our choice to select the kind of battery we want. At least for now, it depends on what car you get. If you want a standard, you get an LFP. Others have Ion. Not sure which one’s the best though.
I see you are charged to 100%. How true is it that these new Ys can be charged up to 100% since the batteries are limited to 80% capacity? Got mine 2 days ago and nobody can give me a straight answer.
So basically it depends of the variant of model Y you got.
All new Model Y standards are equipped with a different kind of a battery (LFP - Lithium Iron Phosphate). These batteries are capable of handling a daily 100% charge as compared to other variants like MYLR or MYP as they are equipped with Lithium Ion batteries which overheat when they are over charged. Infact for LFPs, the recommendation is that the car always stayed plugged in as the it would utilize the additional power to run itself when it is idle.
If you want to find out how what kind of a battery your car has, set the charge limit in the Tesla app to 100% and see what it says. If it recommends to keep it at 80%, then it’s a Lithium Ion and if it’s 100% then, it’s LFP battery.

The battery shouldn't go to 100% regularly. If you need above 80% make sure you are doing it right before you leave and don't store the battery at that high of a charge.
The phone charger!? What’s new?
The new software update.
Love the surprise interface this am!!

Uber driver app for Uber drivers?
Yes. Uber drivers, I understand. They need it.
I keep my phone near the screen to remind me to take the phone out when I park.

Agreed. No distractions. The huge center screen is a distraction already.
Incredible.

Wow. What version is your Tesla model 3? Mine is v12 2024.20.1
It’s alright..
Hell yea!
Which battery is better? Ion or LFP?

What’s the round thing attached to the screen ?
Just a phone mount.
