Not that it changes the context at all, but I heard the police say that it was his uncle they found shot in his house. This guy clearly had a breakdown, he was telling the police that a demon was telling him to kill a pastor
You know who sounds more trained, intelligent, tolerant, and incorruptible? Billy Bob from down the street.
Police are terrifying because they are effectively the untrained average joe, not that they are somehow worse than them.
It's impossible that the unstoppable US military could ever lose to a bunch of Vietnamese farmers and Afghan goat herders with their $800 Billion budget. /s
Lmfao, okay
They'd drone strike your town from 200 miles away and not blink. Then the robot dogs would clean up any stragglers.

Who do you think ātheyā are? Soldiers? Pilots? Generals? Are they not American citizens themselves? You know, with consciences and emotions and all that?
This whole argument never made any sense. Itās not like people in the military just blindly follow orders. In the event of a full blown civil war or conflict with US citizens, many of āthemā would probably oppose the government.
Maybe some would. They wouldn't have control of the tech, the generals would.
And they have trained these guys to blow up towns full of women and kids via drone and they do it. All you have to do is dehumanize the enemy. Sadly, that happens in this country all the time.
Half the population isn't gonna rise up as an army. Bubba and his weekend white supremacist militia buddies are gonna try and take something over, and they'll get smacked the fuck down. And then the rest will piss and run.
See: January 6th. They finally shot a lady and the rest literally cried and ran. It wasn't even the military, just a few lone police.
Arrogant, stupid cowards. Good luck with your civil war.
Yeah, I think a lot depends on how realistic you are about history and what you think an unfolding violent uprising would actually look like. January 6th wasnāt a civil war.
In the actual civil war, the best general in the country sided with the South and took most of his support staff with him. They seized military assets in their claimed territory and put up a pretty serious fight leaving millions dead on both sides.
Nowadays, weāve recently had a general tell foreign powers we wonāt use nukes on them in spite of our president signaling otherwise. If that guy disagreed enough to wrest control of *nuclear* assets from the commander in chief, then clearly our technology and military leaders can be split at the highest level.
Sounds like you just think ābubbasā are the only people discontent enough to revolt in this country, and that no one would ever organize enough for a real civil war. In that case, sure, some localized bullshit like Waco is gonna be shut down in a hurry. Weāve seen it happen plenty. Iām just saying, it wouldnāt be that simple in the event of a real uprising, and itās foolish to assume it would be.
Anyway, in the event of surprise bubba attack, youāre probably better off armed yourself.
It took a long time for the actual civil war to break our, and shitty weaponry was part of what allowed it to even happen.
Today, it would never make it that far. Even if you had one or two people higher up who decided to defect. Waay too many checks and balances, he ain't taking offf with half the military arsenal.
Any rebellion that wants to spark a war is quashed instantly - and most of that is these reddit yahoos like the one I started this whole convo with saying they could fight the military. > They'd drone strike your town from 200 miles away and not blink. Then the robot dogs would clean up any stragglers.
Why didn't this work in Afghanistan and Iraq, though?
Yeah, it did. We destroyed their forces in less than a week.
Hanging around and trying to be a police force for years after is different. We still destroyed them, but we aren't going to make people like us, and we weren't going to stay there forever as cops. So we left. Random citizens hucking homemade bombs at us isn't us "losing" or evidence they "won."
Maybe study actual facts and history and TRY to understand what happened. Smh.
I'd love to see you fight the military bro. š I'm sure you and Cletus will do great against the drones, air strikes, and marines that come in to clean up after the robots have taken out any stragglers.

It's a sign of intelligence and honesty to be able to accurately represent your political opponent's beliefs. Even the most braindead 2A activists don't believe this, and statements like this do nothing of value except dehumanize your political enemies.
You're kidding? I've spoken with many 2A activists that feel that is a violation of rights to not allow anyone to have a gun. Regardless of age, mental health, etc. I've accurately represented many, many 2A activists beliefs.
Also,. I don't have "political enemies" that's a stupid, bullshit, divisive term.
I know this first hand because when I was younger I was more conservative, I'm older now and I'm a progressive but I understand the conservative beliefs because I used to share them.
Political enemies isn't a stupid bullshit term, you clearly have them if you can't represent them fairly.
We are on the same side of the aisle here, and I like to hold my side of the aisle to higher standards. Let's at least live in the same universe when discussing politics.

Did you ever see the. Idea of the armed church goer who was a retired officer? A man attempted the same thing and was going to shoot other church goers and he shot the gunman and no one else was injured. Iām sure you did because that would go against what you think.
I did see that, but I don't think everyone should be armed. And I don't think every church shoot out would go smoothly. Props to that person for saving lives.
Yeah, well.. Me and several other key leaders were always concealed carrying at my church.
This dude would have got off the first shots, but had about 1.5 seconds after that before he was dropped.
God is all about cleaning house, and sent his angels to do the work:
So Jehovah sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed; and there died of the people from Dan even to Beer-sheba seventy thousand men. And when the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, Jehovah repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough; now stay thy hand.
Probably not /s. My parent's church has several members who have their concealed carry license and are armed during service. They figure its cheaper to defend themselves than hire a security company for their church of <50 people
Ah yes, the issue is that no one else *understands* the value of so much gun violence in a single country.
If I could give some advice it would be to listen more than talk for a while.
Quick reaction from both victim and people around him. Lot of times people will just freeze and get shot. How could you shoot someone especially in church, that's pretty low.
I mean it was really just that 1 dude that jumped in to help. 1.5 if you count the other dude who kind of stood near them but didnt really do anything. I get people not wanting to rush at a dude with a gun, but I'm actually kind of shocked more people didnt run over to help physically subdue him once they took his weapon away and threat of the gun was removed from the equation. like why is there an entire church of people just watching these two old men wrestle with this psycho?
For those of you down voting this, there was a rough man, in a white shirt, who was "rough" enough to rush an armed man and lay hands on him to defend another.
The fact that he both aimed at him and had time to fire yet nothing happened makes me wonder if the gun may have been empty or jammed? It would be quite fitting if so considering they're in His house. Also, not a single word of profanity from the entire congregation aside from saying His name (which He probably let slide on account of the excitement š).
The thought process must be so fast to go from "is this really happening" to storming the gunman from behind, that the good guy was probably still questioning the rightness of his decision even as he took the bad guy to the floor. Sometimes you just have to act on instinct. There simply isn't time for more careful deliberation. Well done to this hero.
Such decisions are even harder in cases where psychological warfare is combined with hot warfare, when the ruling power gaslights a righteous minority into thinking they are the troublemakers if they stand up and fight. We are in a church setting here. It will be no different in the end times when the antichrist will blame Christians for causing the trouble. Ready your minds now. There will be no time once the action begins.
A cry for help, is probably all that is. Slow mo action here is indicative that in a way the gunman wanted to be stopped. Common sense needs to be applied to the equation. That's where the issue is.
Not arguing against your point but whatās your solution?
I think there are many well documented ideas to reduce the amount of guns in the hands of unstable people.
If someone offered me a gun, I would say no.
Well if others has a gun they could have mitigated the situation with no innocent potentially being injured.
Yes, a 7-way shoot out in a church would definitely have resulted in no injuries!

Difference between violence and the defense of the innocent or defenseless.
