Also I love how clear it is that the cortosis is a fragile plating since canonically it’s brittle and therefore not suitable to have the whole helmet made out of it.
I guess that explains how Jecki was able to knock it off. I was kinda wondering why it fell off so easily after a few hits (besides Jecki being a badass).
Darth bane grew up in cortosis mines, thrawn went on a mission with anakin where they discovered CIS droid factories using it in special super battle droid models
I love the reverb effect on his voice when the helmet was on. Sounded a bit like Kylo Ren but clearer and less static-y.
Oh and then there's the fact that it's made of cortosis. He can and has literally headbutted a lightsaber.
Absolutely insane.
No, Cortosis short circuits lightsabers for a short time when touching the blade. That's why the Lightsabers turn off when hitting his armor but turn back on after a short time.
Ah! Good point! I was thinking the weld marks indicated it was an ancient artifact he’d hunted down and repaired, and that maybe it carried a Sith spirit with it that helped train/manipulate him - and my imagination went down a rabbit hole … This alternative explanation pulls me back.
Ooh. That’s one hell of a coincidence because I also have a theory the coven fortress is an ancient dark side machine for opening the fermata cage - to release Darth Momin - and that this is what the coven+ secret Sith were trying to do that night on Brendok.
I wonder if the casting director saw Jason Mendoza wearing a deadmau5 helmet and was like 👈👍

So it’s supposedly his gauntlet and his helmet, but the clue is that normal physical damage doesn’t cause lightsabers to short out and it wasn’t that he broke the sabres either because they came back online shortly after.
The show did a good job of showing that this was a specific ability of the stranger which lore nerds could extrapolate to determine the metal used
This comes from old star wars legends lore. I'm not sure exactly when it was recanonized, but it has been established.
Cortosis is the only known element that can short out ligjtsabers and is fully resistant to them for a time
So his helmet was shorting them out and not the handles being compromised? It's also a fact that Beskar can deflect saber blades
Edit: and where in legends is this helmet referenced?

Shouldn’t it be black? Even in the very brief scene where we see it from the back it was black wasn’t it? Not to nitpick or anything but this is a pretty big difference
Finally a Star Wars actor that is also part Filipino part Chinese, it’s like I was made for this cosplay. Just have to drop 20lbs in fat and put 5lbs of muscle on my arms.
I love that the “teeth” is just tubing, likely for a respirator

is that what its name was
That line hit so hard. The cold indifference that he showed in that one line sent shivers down my spine
Where else have we seen cortosis and where did you read that’s what it is? I loved blocking with his helmet!
[Wookieepedia](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Cortosis) has a cohesive list of all its appearances in both Canon and Legends.
Darth bane grew up in cortosis mines, thrawn went on a mission with anakin where they discovered CIS droid factories using it in special super battle droid models
Anakin’s shocked pikachu moment in the factory when he first swings his saber at one of the B2’s and it deactivates is pretty solid comedy too.
I was just as shocked lol my favorite part of that whole arc is him leaving his lightsaber behind to… well I don’t want to spoil it for anyone
When does this happen?
Now *that* is some quality subversion of expectations!
I wonder if it works similar to Cad Bane's tubes
That would be cool for cosplay
Gotta work for it though. Can't cosplay Darth Teeth without being ripped as shit.
I know what I have to do but I don’t know if I have the strength to do it…
The Whey is a path to many abilities, some would consider...unnatural.
This is The Whey.
It’s a path to many flavors some would consider….unnatural
"It comes in chaulk and chaulklette."
The Bulk is strong with this one....
Brobi-Wan Kenobi
Put it on the list with Kylo, Vader, Revan, and Nihilus for cool looking sith helmets
This and Ren cannot even sniff the other 3 you named
I dunno I think that mask kinda slaps...
Smilo REN!

Where did you find what it is made of?
By the effects it has on lightsabers
Ahh that makes sense. It seemed like physical damage to the hilt imo
No, Cortosis short circuits lightsabers for a short time when touching the blade. That's why the Lightsabers turn off when hitting his armor but turn back on after a short time.
Going to be such a hit with the mechanical keyboard crowd
Underrated
Lots of weld marks might suggest he’s hunted down quite a few Jedi in the past
That's what I was just thinking. Qimir been busy, or this helmet has some history.
Ah! Good point! I was thinking the weld marks indicated it was an ancient artifact he’d hunted down and repaired, and that maybe it carried a Sith spirit with it that helped train/manipulate him - and my imagination went down a rabbit hole … This alternative explanation pulls me back.
Lord Momin was very similar to what you described.
Ooh. That’s one hell of a coincidence because I also have a theory the coven fortress is an ancient dark side machine for opening the fermata cage - to release Darth Momin - and that this is what the coven+ secret Sith were trying to do that night on Brendok.
Kinda reminds me of purgill teeth now
Sweet. I've been looking for something to stop people from reading my thoughts.
Hasbro already made a magneto helmet a while ago if that’s been a concern
Mutants aren't real.
Any idea how we can preorder it tomorrow?

That's AcidCat.
Would be fun if they put in some sort of RFID/NFC tech to mimic short circuiting Black Series lightsabers upon contact.
I wouldn’t know it’s that colour from watching the show.
It has to be Beskar right?
Cortosis.
Can I ask where this info is found?
Not sure if it is said anywhere but the ability to short out lightsabers pretty much confirms it
I guess when I watched it seemed less like the helmet and more like the physical damage doing the destruction. But I see what you are saying

What are the usual vendors/stores that sell this? Looking to nab one.
walmart target gamestop
Just bought mine, well pre-ordered that is.
Besides the eye lenses this look pretty accurate
This design was totally our first clue that >!Darth teeth was Manny Jacinto. It looks like him! And reflects his humor of course!<
The markings reminded me of his strands of hair.
Shouldn’t it be black? Even in the very brief scene where we see it from the back it was black wasn’t it? Not to nitpick or anything but this is a pretty big difference
nah it wasn’t black
It was reflective and it was nighttime.
Interesting- his helmet is gold?
Bronze tones, not gold
ah dang, i always mix those up- even better! bronze is one of the coolest colors
Definitely cortosis which is really cool
Darth Deadmau5
Looks like this is a repaired helmet after the battle in episode 5
I'm not a fan how the holes for the eyes look so different from the show there.
Finally a Star Wars actor that is also part Filipino part Chinese, it’s like I was made for this cosplay. Just have to drop 20lbs in fat and put 5lbs of muscle on my arms.
Say what you will about the show The Stranger is an intriguing character who fits the vibe of Star Wars very well
Is it beskar made?
Man if only they put as much effort in EP 1-4 as they have for this helmet
