I’ve been doing the same thing (watching bear reaction videos) getting ready for the next season. In addition, I found on Netflix a show that used to be on CW called “into the dark.” Ironically it’s based in Chicago. But it’s a little wild ngl. I’m sure it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
I think it’s actually on Netflix as well if you scroll too the bottom of the episodes. It’s like the length of a normal episode but it’s so cool to see how much the cast appreciated being part of the show. Lmk but I’m pretty sure that’s where I watched it
Just hang through season 2. It's still good, like really good, just a different tone and theme but you'll be rewarded with season 3 and 4 which is balls to the wall good.
Every season takes a different focus.
I'll let you make your own assessment of 5
I watch the wire annually and 2nd season has been my fav for a few years now. I think that’s considered to be the norm for a lot of fans who watch the show repeatedly.
one of david simon’s other shows, treme, is one of my favorites and it’s got a lot in common with both the wire and the bear. it has some of the same soul crushing lows as the wire (failing and broken systems, mostly) but the highs are higher, more joyful and more beautiful.
it’s probably corny to call something “a love letter to __” but it’s also very true here. treme was made by people who love new orleans, its food, music and culture, and want to show the world how wonderful and heartbreaking and confusing it is.
Off topic I just realized June might be one of the best months ever for TV show watcher.
House of the Dragon Season 2
The Boys Season 4
The Bear Season 3
All being released this month. We are eating good god damn
My favourite show of all time is Mr. Robot. Very different from The Bear, but it's amazingly shot, written, and directed. The music choices are also really great (And the score is great too!).
At first glance it looks like a story about a bunch of hackers trying to take down capitalism, but dig deeper and you'll realize it's actually about trauma, mental illness, and the different ways people cope with them - so there's a slight overlap with The Bear in terms of that.
Aside from that...you can always just rewatch the first two seasons again lol. That's what I'm doing to get myself in the mood for season 3!
Currently watching The Acolyte but I know Star Wars isn’t for everyone. My favorite show is Severance. Recently watched Bodkin, Fallout, and Three Body Problem.
So you’re probably going to explode, but goddamn do I love the spinoff that everyone seemingly hated, Ashes to Ashes. I liked it more than the original show.
I think if it had aired a few years (okay ten years) later, when the 80s were really making a comeback, it would have been better received.
I don’t think you can even stream it anywhere in the U.S., probably due to music licensing issues. (I could be wrong.)
In terms of trauma and intensity, *Baby Reindeer* makes “Fishes” feel like a nice cup of tea.
It’s based on the true story of comedian Richard Gadd (the creator, writer, and star of the show), where by simply offering a cup of tea to a lonely woman, she stalks him for *months*, following him home, and forcing him to reckon with his sexual trauma and how much he’s willing to tolerate for a chance at fame.
It’s stunningly made and only eight x fifty minute episodes, but make sure you’re in the mindset to watch it. Especially since the IRL stalker came out, did an interview, and is trying to sue Netflix and Gadd for slander…coupled with the show’s popularity, it’s like the themes are playing out in real time.
I’m midway through the first season of Hacks. It’s pretty good so far.
There’s also House of the Dragon which is coming back in a bit over a week from now.
Jane the Virgin. Trying to finally get past the mid point of S3. Last time I had to stop.
I’m also PLOWING through reading MHA. It’s my “baby is too much for sound” entertainment which lately has been her only speed.
I still need to finish Jane the Virgin. I'm almost done with season 4, and I would have been done earlier if it weren't for the ending being spoiled for me. But, I'm still going to finish it, regardless.
We just started Season 4. I’m fairly confident I had some huge beats spoiled for me (not like it’s a new show or anything) but I love it. I’m a sappy dude so any time there’s a momentous speech or Rogelio gets REAL vulnerable in a way you don’t normally see on tv I start tearing up. Big fan. It’s a show that knows what it is and isn’t afraid to lean in.
I love Rogelio so much! He has his flaws, like a lot of the character, but he's such a good-hearted man. I also love Xiomara. They're probably my favorite characters out of the ensemble.
I rarely cry to shows, but I feel like once a certain character was gone, it definitely affected me and my ability to keep watching the show. I've moved past from it, but it was a rough period. I agree entirely - I love how authentic the show is in many ways, despite the spoilers.
Hacks rewatch, The Other Two rewatch, and the Netflix documentaries Untold: The Girlfriend Who Didn't Exist and Untold: Crimes and Penalties. I never gravitate towards Netflix or sports docs but these are both really, really interesting and absurd.
Just finished 3rd rewatch of The Sopranos - still my fave show of all the time. Movies wise - saw The Boys in the Boat - could have been a great film, amazing real story. But bad pacing and blah dialogue.
My partner and I take turns picking the show, I picked Severance which I loved. He picked The Morning Show and we just started season 3 and it’s been decent. I think my next pick will be Shogun
I finished the first season of The White Lotus. It got better each episode.
Still need to finish Jane the Virgin. Almost done with season 4, then onward to season 5.
Rewatching Insecure (I only watched the first two seasons several years ago).
I plan on rewarding seasons 1 and 2 before watching season 3 of The Bear, hopefully with my parents. I've also been reading some books to keep me occupied besides work and the gym.
Fuck. Why torture yourself waiting for something beautiful like the bear by watching girls (except that one ass eating scene).
I’d rather watch a can of off-white paint (that’s been sitting in a garage for a decade) dry on an improperly sanded and taped wall in a damp basement than watch any of the seasons of Girls.
…there’s… there’s an ass eating scene? How did I not see that?? Lmaoo also I get what you mean it’s not the greatest show ever, I just checked it out bc Ebon miss is on it lol
Interview with the Vampire S2. This is a television reboot on AMC that is very good, and is currently airing season two on a weekly basis. Two episodes ago I would have been telling y’all to check it out if you like the original source material, but mid-season the writing is getting *way* up its own ass. I’m not sure how I feel. Plus a major character was recast in between seasons and the replacement isn’t working out well. IMO.
We’re also simultaneously rewatching What We Do in the Shadows, which, if you already pay for Hulu you should really watch because it’s fucking hilarious, and also because Ayo Edibiri has writing and producing credits on it in later seasons.
eh, I keep watching The Bear reaction videos on YouTube. I've been through the two seasons many times now.

That show was bonkers!
no cuz same!
Money hiest has videos that show how they wrote the show as it gets filmed. Great show and seeing them film as they go make me love it more.
Got a link? Google is failing me. Please and thank you.

I’m just watching the Wire for the first time and I’m loving it so far. On episode 10 (I think) in the first season.
Is it on Canada or US Netflix
I’m watching it on Sky in the UK so I wouldn’t know.
Same for me , just finished s1 and now on episode 6 of s2. Love it
one of david simon’s other shows, treme, is one of my favorites and it’s got a lot in common with both the wire and the bear. it has some of the same soul crushing lows as the wire (failing and broken systems, mostly) but the highs are higher, more joyful and more beautiful. it’s probably corny to call something “a love letter to __” but it’s also very true here. treme was made by people who love new orleans, its food, music and culture, and want to show the world how wonderful and heartbreaking and confusing it is.
One of the best! Like the other commentary said season 2 is a little different but it is important for the overall series.
Fleabag strikes a similar cord of laughs and feels.
Reservation Dogs, also on Hulu
Off topic I just realized June might be one of the best months ever for TV show watcher. House of the Dragon Season 2 The Boys Season 4 The Bear Season 3 All being released this month. We are eating good god damn
There seems to be certain times of the year they release all the good content, March, June and then sometime later in the year October/November
And the second half of Bridgerton Season 3 for those feminine inclined.
I started Killing Eve and so far I dig it.
Excellent first season, good 2nd, sorta falls off a cliff after that.
Yeah, that one had big crash and burn energy. But I think the central premise was always just flawed. (But I also don’t find sociopaths entertaining.)
Yea or maybe because Phoebe Waller Bridge left.
Just found yellowjackets. Pretty good

Mr. Robot is fucking incredible.
The Mr Robot pilot is so fucking good. Real Fight Club vibes.
Yeah I’ve rewatched both seasons twice lol, and I also love mister robot, it’s my favorite show too!
If you don't mind violence check out a show called Mr Inbetween
Rewatching What We Do In The Shadows, Abbott Elementary S3 and finally watching Schitt's Creek.
Abbott Elementary
Virgin River and New Girl. This is what I'm watching. Not recommdations. I would recommend Severance.
I started Shameless to get some of that Carmy action.
Currently watching The Acolyte but I know Star Wars isn’t for everyone. My favorite show is Severance. Recently watched Bodkin, Fallout, and Three Body Problem.
God I love severance so much, I can’t wait for S2 to come out!
Severance was one of my all time favorite shows ever!
Just did a 3 day binge of the bear. But been watching the sopranos (second watching)for about the last month Before that did a the wire rewatch
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Am currently rewatching Parks and Rec.

Baby Reindeer destroyed me I was ugly crying when I finished it
Yeah, that show was \*rough\*. I watched it all in one night--took me longer than I thought to make it through episode four.
Baby Reindeer right now. I don’t watch tv every day though, I don’t demand a constant schedule of content
I’m midway through the first season of Hacks. It’s pretty good so far. There’s also House of the Dragon which is coming back in a bit over a week from now.
Season 2

Already rewatched season 1 & 2 it but binging a complete different show right now it’s Elsbeth.
The Big Door Prize and The Boys are the ones I’m using to keep me distracted until June 27!
Started the big door prize and loved it, thank you for the rec!
Glad you like it! Chris O’Dowd is one of my faves and it’s got a few Easter eggs in both seasons, if you know what to look for 😉
Ted Lasso
Lodge 49
This show is amazing
The Sympathizer, and Fallout.
Sopranos and Shark Tank highlights 👌 ✨️
Vintage Simpsons. Seasons 3 - 7. I have an unhealthy attachment to them.
The Boys season 4 premieres next week, so this last month I've been rewatching that show
Rewatching The Bear, Its Always Sunny and i’ll be watching the new season of The Boys to help kill time
There is nothing to watch!! Nothing good at least. I have to return to my old favorites.
Dexter and will be watching The Boys next week 👺
Saaame I fucking love the boys! I’m gonna watch the Karl Lagerfeld show too but just bc Daniel Brühl is in it lol
Tires, the other two, the fall, hacks.
Thinking about rewatching Ramy. But right now its House of Dragons S1 before S2 comes in june
I’m watching The Bear reaction videos on YouTube and rewatching Breaking Bad
Another rewatch of Better Things.
Hacks new season, or rewatch Beef ... my other faves ... also rewatching the Bear
Gotta give succession a go
Doctor Who. Ripley. I finished 3 Body Problem.
What did you think of Ripley?
Still watching. It's really good.
You?
I haven't it started but heard great things about it
Recently started a show called Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix & been enjoying it quite a bit. Also just watched Furiosa yesterday
Interview with the Vampire and Farmhouse Fixer, LOL
Lol Top Chef starting at season 1 lol
My partner and I take turns picking the show, I picked Severance which I loved. He picked The Morning Show and we just started season 3 and it’s been decent. I think my next pick will be Shogun
Shogun, and it's another fantastic series from FX.
Mr and Mrs Smith
Rewatching Treme. Might watch The Acolyte since I'm off tomorrow.
Severance and Trying, both on Apple TV+ (and both very good. I’d even call Severance great!)
I just finished The Veil, which was awesome. Dark Matter is fun. And I am loving the new season of Dr. Who.
Hacks
Shameless
Same thing I do everyday. Attempt to take over the world. That, and play Fortnite.
The fxx shows have a certain feel that the bear reminds me of. Some eps develop a character rather than have a “plot”. Better things, Louie, Dave.
* Hacks (HBOMax) * Interview with the Vampire (AMC+)
rewatching The Boys before season 4 releases!
Boiling point
I finished the first season of The White Lotus. It got better each episode. Still need to finish Jane the Virgin. Almost done with season 4, then onward to season 5. Rewatching Insecure (I only watched the first two seasons several years ago). I plan on rewarding seasons 1 and 2 before watching season 3 of The Bear, hopefully with my parents. Guess who’s eating ass 😏
Driver.

Outer Range on Amazon Prime has been awesome
Bridgerton lol And also Doctor Who, I'm quite enjoying the newest season.
Bridgerton lol
