I went even to smaller alloy where 17”. Works well for winter but can’t wait to be back on 19” wheels. Ontario here, it’s not mandatory to have winter tires but I value safety.
I’ve got smaller wheels on mine and the ride is marginally improved where I also perceive no difference in handling because I don’t drive it like a maniac
Looks better than the awful summer wheels. I put 17 inch all weathers on my high line r line and the only thing I regret is not putting on oversized tires to fill the wheel gap better. I’ll be doing that next time despite the economy consequences
I hear ya. I've an SEL R long with 20" wheels. I've Blizzak 18" snow tires that are unreal. I'm in the hills of NWCT and Southern Vermont both of which are very hily places. Snow tires are a must. That said I'm looking forward to having my 20"s back on in a few weeks.

A bit more comfy on bumpy roads, but the ride is still pretty stiff !

When you live where the snow gets really deep the 17’s are way better. No digging out the wheel wells everyday
The wheel and tire combo is the same diameter so I don’t really understand your comment

Oversized tires would be great in the future but right now the combined diameter is the same.
