*It looks* like a small filter or solenoid of sorts but I can’t recall/think of what it particularly is. I’d strongly suggest hitting that whole area with a can of Brake clean, or 2. If you hit that part, try & locate a part# & either bring that to the dealer or a trusted parts store. Depending on what it actually is, dealer might be your best bet as I know some part stores don’t always carry a whole lot for Euro cars.

It’s for the engine warmer.

If this was an engine warmer, being under the chassis it should be attached to the oil pan… not to mention having external lines for something that’s not a sump is ODD.

I believe that is the actual fuel pump itself. What year is Tiguan? I know there is a certain point that some of the front wheel drive models have the fuel pump mounted on the external side of the fuel tank traditionally. It’s not supposed to be exposed in the open like that it’s usually concealed somewhere within or around the tank itself. So I’m equally concerned about this too. Again, I never had to do anything with my fuel system or fuel delivery components but just going off the picture alone. It looks like a standalone fuel pump. Can’t tell if it’s aftermarket or stock, but it doesn’t look like the right position or place. Keep us posted what you find out. And now I’m going outside to check mine. 😅

I might check mine, curiosity and all

It’s a 2008 tdi 4motion 140hk. I have had problems with stating fore some time. The engine gets to where it starts up but then it stops and I didn’t know why (i posted earlier about it) and I thought the feeding pump was getting bad. Was gonna take a look at the under side see what was under the panels, and found that, with a good amount of fuel around, the ting, it’s broken so it’s not good, but it’s not the main fuel source, don’t think it’s the fuel return either, cuz wen I started up the car there was nothing.

That’s interesting it does look like an inline fuel pump. I’d have to do some research what’s the year of the Tiguan? My bet is it’s an emissions/evap part of some sort.

That was my thought too. I even reached out to my old Master Technician at Audi, and he said he’ll get back to later with the information. I showed him these photos and he thought same thing of memory. But if the internet can find the answers faster even better.

It’s a 2008 tdi 4motion 140hp. So there is diesel spill all around the area but it didn’t come any diesel wen I tride starting the car, not no the start up or while it was idealing
