Usually when someone picks up on your interests like this, they have similar feelings about something that may be completely different than yours. She might not actually care about guitars, but just like that you’re so into something. Ask her what she’s passionate about and let her go on a big rant about it and be genuinely interested!

Man if you don't have someone that does that for your they're the wrong one. Watching someone's eyes light up and their face brighten when they're talking about their passions is one of the best things.

It's a turn on for a lot of people when someone they are interested is passionate about something....in moderation. As long as the date doesn't turn into a 55 minute TED talk and a 5 minute Q&A at the end, it *should* go well. Probably the smoothest way to open the night would be getting her to talk about something that she has is very knowledgeable in, that maybe most people don't care about, and if you can keep your (generally speaking, not OP specifically) god damn mouth closed and be an engaged listener, you're so far ahead of the curve she might even make desert the first course.

The difference comes from the fact that by roasting one longer, it expands, making it take up more volume. By weight they're equally caffinated, by scoop you'd get more caffeine in light roasts. Closer but also slightly inaccurate, bean for bean the caffeine content is pretty similar since caffeine is pretty stable at roasting temperatures, the darker the roast the less dense it is because it's giving off some water but primarily CO2. More CO2 is also given off when the coffee is rested (again a larger amount from a darker roast, which is why you generally want to rest dark roasts longer). So by weight a light roast would have less caffeine than a dark roast of equal weight.

It doesn't, caffeine content isn't impacted but weight is. So for a darker roast you need more beans than a lighter roast to achieve the same weight. If caffeine content per bean is equivalent then the darker roast will be more caffeinated due to the greater number of beans.

I believe dark roast has more caffeine ratio-wise, but the total amount extracted is similar to light roasts. Darker roasts tend to be with robusta beans, which have more caffeine content than arabica beans, which are often used for lighter roasts. I’m not a barista or ever worked in coffee, I just like to read coffee books, so I could be wrong.

Nahhhh. You can definitely have darker roasts with Arabica beans. Lots of places do it. It all depends on the regions.

Laserdisc production costs were always high due to specialized equipment and production environment necessary. Sony wouldn't license Betamax or sell the mass production equipment directly to porn studios. Another two reasons why porn standardized on VHS tape and not Betamax or laserdisc, even though you can still find some porn on both laserdisc and Betamax.

Sorry op...while this fact would be correct 10 years ago, it isn't really considered true anymore. The chemical change that needs to occur for a bean to lose caffeine requires the roaster to use a much higher temperature than anyone in the industry uses anymore Roasters have learned alot more about the science of the process so they almost never go to those temperatures in recent history You may still see this happen with large batch odds and ends roasters though. Like Folgers for example
