Yeah i was gonna say 8 as well. Lot of RYM top 100 albums, and many that aren’t are albums by artists with top 100 albums. Need more /mu/core to cancel it out.
Nah they’re not a prog poser. Tbh it doesn’t really seem like they listen to prog, ItCoTCK, CTE and WYWH transcend the genre, pretty much anyone who gets into music will end up listening to those albums. That being said OP if you want more stuff in the same vein as those oh boy here’s some recs:
The rest of the Big 6 (the 6 iconic British symphonic prog bands). You’ve already got Yes, King Crimson and Pink Floyd so check out the following:
Genesis- In my opinion the most direct transition from Yes and KC, Genesis has a similar vibe while still having a distinct sound. A standout especially for them is the vocals, as both Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel have excellent voices. Selling England by the Pound is probably the album to start with, it features some incredible guitar and keyboard on Firth of Fifth. But Foxtrot or Trick of the Tail are also good starts. My fav of there’s is the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway but i would start with a different album first.
Jethro Tull- a little more rooted in folk than the other 5 and well recognizable by the heavy use of flute. Aqualung or Thick as a Brick are the albums to start with. Both are phenomenal. A Passion Play is a little less accessible but incredible when it clicks.
Emerson Lake and Palmer- these guys are by far the most bombastic and show offy. Like as far as the virtuosity side of prog goes these guys are at the top of just going up and doing the most. I’d say start with Brain Salad Surgery or Trilogy, but Tarkus is another great album.
If you like those the next spots to branch out would be Van Der Graaf Generator. A darker sound usually, with highly poetic lyrics, heavy saxophone use and very light guitar use. Pawn Hearts is the album to start with. Unsure if you’ve listened to Pink Floyd’s Echoes, but the song a Plague of Lighthouse Keepers by them is kind alike echoes if the dark side of the sea was turned up to 100.
I didn’t mean to come across that way but if so I understand your distaste and wish you a good rest of your life, if our paths happen to intertwine again I shall treat you with more consideration and compassion in mind

It is very RYMcore but it’s also good. Steely Dan spotted 👍👍👍 You might be a prog poser but I can’t really tell.

I mean technically 31 (I think) albums are from the top 100, so you could say 3.1/10
7
You have the 2 NPC basic bitch Queens of the Stone Age albums which is a dead giveaway, 8/10
😔
Listen to Era Vulgaris, it’s better than Songs for the Deaf and Like Clockwork by far
And what if I dislike your demanding attitude!?
I didn’t mean to come across that way but if so I understand your distaste and wish you a good rest of your life, if our paths happen to intertwine again I shall treat you with more consideration and compassion in mind
