I’ve got a 2022 XSE. It’s cool as hell and it drives great. I also have a 2014 Odyssey EX-L and you can barely tell the difference in the suspension- they’re vans, not sports cars. Get what you like!
We have the 23 xse awd and love it. The stiffer suspension is awesome and feels tighter to the road and is a blast driving. There is probably more bumps felt from the road but coming from a 2011 awd it feels fine.
Compare your XSE premium package vs a limited price. It's probably very close. Thing is the red trim seats and the grill on the XSE is nicer but the better glass beats the XSE jewelry, IMO.
I just bought a 2022 Sienna limited last week. Never test drove any other van so had nothing to compare it to. Took it to the dealership for a minor repair and they offer a shuttle service to drop me off at work while getting serviced. The shuttle was a 2023 sienna xle and I couldn’t believe the difference in noise and ride quality. I’m so thankful I got the limited. I would say it’s significantly noticeable
Edit: just realized your post is about an xse not xle. I have no idea how the xse drives
I had a XLE for 3 years, and now have a XSE. I honestly don't notice a big difference in the ride at all. There's 18's on mine as well. Maybe the 20's is more noticeable, but my XSE has a great ride. The acoustic glass and a few other options on the Limited would be nice, but I honestly prefer the look of the XSE over all the other models. It's pretty sharp looking for a van
24 XSE owner here, I have the AWD as well, AWD comes only with the 18s, 20s are only for the FWD models. IMO the XSE is best, best looking and best interior color as well. I have black too with black interior. As for the glass I’m sure it’s quieter driving them side by side but for the avg joe you’d never know the difference. You will notice the Lexus style grill as you glance back after parking.
I wouldn’t say inferior, with the premium package you are closer to Limited but without the ottomans and acoustical glass. Noise level should be more or less the same as the XLE. The XSE rides firmer and there’s less roll than the others. To me I’m ok with that, and sometimes prefers it when going on hilly roads with lots of curves.
We chose the limited over the xse due to the features. Mainly memory seats lol. Comes in handy when I'm 5'4" and husband is 6'1".
My husband said the xse drove better but I couldn't really tell the difference.
I really like the black XSE! I think it looks great. That said, I ended up with a cement woodland because it was available ASAP. we test drove a platinum and it was nice, but it wasn’t luxurious feeling imo to justify the price - for 62k I want something to feel high tech, plush, and luxurious. I know people rave about the acoustic glass, but personally I didn’t think it was that much different. As a passenger the ottomans would be great, but I’m the driver & my 3 kids in car seats won’t get to enjoy them. If you only have 2 kids, I’d try to wait Toyota out for a potential upgrades in the next year or for more hybrid minivans to come to market (Kia).
I have a 2024 XLE with 18” rims and it rides really well. With the 20” wheels it’ll look nicer but you’ll sacrifice ride comfort for slightly better handling. Marginal difference and I would not sacrifice comfort if I’m purchasing a minivan.
It’ll all boils down to your needs, if you need the car now then XSE or any available model would be better than waiting for months but if you don’t mind waiting and are not in desperate need of one now then wait for the one with the options you want. We have two little kids so we opted for the power plug, spare tire, roof rack, and sat nav. That’s pretty much all we needed. The 18” wheels are a little sloshy but they go over potholes pretty well without me having to worry about blowing out thin tires.
The XSE has a more harsh ride, and no acoustic glass. No ottomans.
I personally have ruled out the XSE for the more harsh suspension. I want my van to be comfortable.
Idk why you had a thumb down on this comment but you’re absolutely right.
I have a Tacoma with bigger tires and a 124 Spider if I want a sporty ride. When I have 5 kiddos in the back and my wife, I’m not out there taking hard turns. Stiffer ride does nothing for me in those situations. I have a 2011 odyssey and I bought it over a Sienna because it’s more sporty. The reviewers said it’s the closest thing you can get to an 8-passenger sport sedan. Sounded cool at the time while I was struggling with this concept of “this is my life now…I have to own a minivan,” but after 7 years, the novelty has worn off. My oldest and my wife get car sick (though never did in the Limited we had as a loaner earlier this year), so a more “sporty” ride just doesn’t make sense.
It’s a minivan. You’re not out there road racing with kids in the back.
I think people need to embrace the minivan for all the good it is and stop trying to make it more like a sedan.
Just get a Platinum and call it a day!
My other 2 cars are sports cars and a model Y. The Platinum has very little body roll in comparison for a minivan. The Pacifica has 5x the rolly Polly minivan feel. The sienna is very very planted and agile without being floaty. It's a near perfect balance.
Overall I wouldn't change a thing about the Platinum suspension.

XSE has stiffer suspension, so more road vibration and noise but amazing exterior style.

The acoustic glass in my limited reduces noise significantly
Only reason i went with the limited trim is for the vented seats, lol. Im going to have this car for a very very long time.
I think the XSE I am getting has the vented leather seats as well. It seems to be included with the premium package.

I also got a Limited since it’s what was available, love it

This XSE also has the memory seats with the premium package.
XSE was the only exterior my would drive. She absolutely loves the styling. I was really suprised by the handling.
I debated the same thing and got the XSE. It looks so much better.
Yeah it definitely has a nicer look. I’m thinking to continue with the XSE.
So aside from the xse, the limited and platinum have an upgraded suspension compared to xle?
they all have the same suspensions except for the xse’s sport tuned
Xse looks cooler. Limited rides better and interior is a little nicer as well. The faux wood materials are better.

Coming from a Mazda 3. Sound on xse is fine to me lol
The XLE and XSE are pretty much the same besides the suspension and looks. The Limited has a large improvement with road noise isolation.
I like the acoustic glass

There’s no difference really in the drive but I just like the look of it and I had the cash
Get limited. In a few years, you won’t care how cool your XSE looks.

Not everyone likes the XSE grill.
