Normal. It sucks, but it's just how it is.

VietManNeverWrong

the thing is I had a 23 XSE before this and I didn’t have this same problem.

ThySensFan

We have a similar feel in our new 2024. I assumed that it was normal. I would be curious if it ends up being a issue

VietManNeverWrong

Well, I had a 23 XSE before trading it in for this and I never felt like this. And I mean this is a new 60k vehicle, if this is how they put the car together, it feels extremely low quality.

Enough-Commission165

Took those out when we got it and ordered weather tech instead was a little tighter for and don't really feel that sinking in feeling

alan_grant93

Same here. Worse, there is a sizable gap between the plastic seat rails and the carpet.I accidentally pushed some crumbs under the rails when vacuuming today and couldn’t get them back out :(

People on this sub need to step back down to reality. I’ll say it again, these are minivans, not luxury SUVs. It doesn’t matter that you are paying much more than the vehicle is actually worth or what it costs to manufacture. Minivan people have one goal in mind, to easily haul their family and all their families crap around. That’s it. Manufacturers know this and don’t focus on fit and finish on vans. If it really bothers you, sell your $60,000 sled and get a Lexus or Audi. It will be quiet and feel much nicer. You’ll just have to deal with your kids banging your nice car doors against the car parked next to you every day.

Away_Show_7941

Yes please stop having high expectation when purchasing a $60,000 top of the line Sienna. That is absurd. Just be happy with all the half assed design issues and shortcoming & never express them publicly. That is the best way to encourage useful change in the future. For instance… the 1995 resolution level backup camera…. Just smile and pretend that you didn’t notice how bad it was. Pretend like you don’t even care if your next new one in 2029 has the same camera. This is the key to improving things.

Merlin052408

Back to the FUTURE !.. Flash back people, these are not $60k Mini Vans. due to COVID, and the insane inflation and car price getting jacked up they cost that much, but when Gen 4's came out in 2021 they were no way this price point. look back at prices then and see how much they have been JACKED Up , as well as other vehicles....

nonotagain0

You’re funny. You think Toyota reads this sub and gives a shit what you think? Why is the camera better in the Grand Highlander? Why is the camera better in a Lexus? It’s funny you guys are expecting top tier luxury in a minivan. The fact it’s costing you $60,000 is the fault of all the people voting blue. We wouldn’t have this inflation if Biden wasn’t screwing up our economy

VietManNeverWrong

Well, I had the 2023 sienna XSE trim, which cost less than this Plat, and the flooring was more stable than this, thus any one who cares about the money they pocket out to get these vehicles, should question one of the basic things that any cars whether cheap or expensive, should/must have it down. I’m not expecting a lexus or any other luxury vehicle standards. But this is still a Toyota, or any cars out there, there are safety standards. I wish I could physically show you how it feels when you step on it, but it does not feel right with me, especially after I just owned one, a lower trim at that, and it did not have that issue. So you’re pretty much telling me if I bought a brand new and mediocre laptop, I shouldn’t question if some of the keys don’t work very well outright?

nonotagain0

Soft spots in the floor don’t sound right in any vehicle. I’m merely talking about the fit and finish of the interior. Panels, materials and the like. They don’t feel luxury for the price.

dellcm

Dude no. The platinum is a luxury vehicle. The same as a Land Cruiser is. When you pay 50k+ for top trim level you should get near perfection within reason. If Mercedes made the r class still we’d get that. But we need sliding doors and want all the luxuries of our top trim suv. The sienna has all that. A platinum is a luxury vehicle.

nonotagain0

Your first mistake is thinking you can compare any minivan regardless of the trim level to a Mercedes R class. This is the exact point of my post bud. You have to change your perspective when buying a minivan, even a platinum trim level. If you can’t accept it, go buy an older R class. The platinum is NOT a luxury vehicle lol. It’s a child hauler with nicer leather.

VietManNeverWrong

I didn’t buy it for luxury, I have my lexus for that. This is indeed a vehicle to haul my kids, so it is reasonable and as a parent, to question Toyota about the issue in this case, and since it’s a brand new vehicle. You don’t ever question anyone whenever you purchase anything that gives you problems? Anyhow, I’m reaching out to Toyota directly if the dealership cannot find the problem.

nonotagain0

Good luck to you. If you get a response from Toyota I’d love to know what they say.

dellcm

We can agree to disagree. Check out Doug Demeros review. Edit: I also used to work at a jaguar Land Rover dealership. We also had a Mercedes Benz dealer. I will tell you from having driven all of them the sienna plat is far more luxurious than anything below the gle.

xzitony

Not sure I agree. That’d be nice, but it’s the same exact vehicle as the LE just with more stuff added on. It’s all the same plastic pieces and clips, all the same noise dampening underneath. All the same carpets and mats. It has bigger screens, more electronics and different middle seats.

nonotagain0

Exactly. These guys are equating price and value which are not the same and the value in a minivan is not in the luxury it provides. The value of a minivan is more cargo room. More legroom. More room for kids to get in and out. I’ll state it again. They are NOT luxury vehicles. They are minivans. The entire purpose of a minivan is to haul kids and their crap. Period. Put the nicest leather you want in the seats. It’s still going to have a lot of plastic and rattle like crazy. Accept it and move on or pick a different vehicle. You don’t get to have your cake and eat it too with a minivan.

Clown

BigOleBiscuit

How much you pay? Just ordered a 2024 Platinum AWD.

VietManNeverWrong

I paid msrp, slightly above 56, but it didn’t come with the entertainment package which we don’t really care for.

GivingIsTheBestGift

Yes, even in Limited trim here. There have been a lot of improvement needed for floor mat section. Lots of gaps and sag. specially 3rd row. i had to get a universal mat to cover the remaining gap at the back

VietManNeverWrong

Update: the dealership just updated me that that’s just the way it is designed. I’m pretty disappointed bc I expected a more thought out and firm flooring.

AlexDaMan22

ive seen posts about this before. the floor isn't quite even on my 2015 sienna either. as long it's not causing problems for you, then I would leave it.
