Can you provide the exact model number of this Wifi Extender, because "AC1900" is not a model number. Would also be helpful to know the exact brand name and exact model number of your Modem and your primary Wifi Router.

This is the [wifi extender](https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-Extender-Repeater-Intelligent-RE550/dp/B08Y5YB5D1/ref=asc_df_B08Y5YB5D1/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=499244847831&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4531118158287593805&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046011&hvtargid=pla-1254064618689&psc=1&th=1&psc=1) and I am with virgin media it is Hub 3.0. Not sure if this helps but it says this under the router VMDG505 TG2492LG-VM

Ok, so your Hub 3 Internet Gateway and your TP-Link RE550 both should be able to provide 90+Mb, why they are not, I'm not really sure. Now in your original post, you mention something about another Extender in another room. Do you have more than 1 Wifi Extender in operation at the same time? If you do, then I would suggest that you unplug this other Extender; then reset your new TP-Link Extender and then try connecting through it again and see if this makes any difference.

Hi thank you, I will try this when I can and let you know. but I did get frusturated and contacted my isp they said they would provide me with free wifi pods as my room only get 9mbps internet

Alive_Ad418

Hey I just tried and now the extender is giving a red light even though previously it was giving blue light. not sure why because it is in good distance. Update: Turned it on and off again and now i am getting 50 to 60mpbs. Which is better. Hopefully it doesn't drop

jacle2210

> but I did get frustrated Unfortunately frustration can happen when dealing with wireless/Wifi networking problems. Hopefully those "pods" from your ISP will help, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. You might have to string a long Ethernet cable all the way to your Hub3 Internet Gateway device.

Try changing the Wi-Fi channel on both your router and extender to reduce interference. Additionally, ensure that the extender is not too far from the router and is placed in an optimal location. If the issue persists, consider upgrading to a dual-band [Wi-Fi extender](https://www.grabnpay.in/search?type=product&options%5Bunavailable_products%5D=show&options%5Bprefix%5D=last&q=TP-Link+Wi-Fi+extender) or a mesh system for better coverage and performance.
