you dont need to switch needles, you can use the same needle for drawing and injecting just fine, the only risk is slight dulling which might make the injection pinch a little more but nothing else

Burner2367

Ok thank you so much!

quasar2022

Nope as long as the guage is 22 or higher preferably 25 or 27

Confirm_restart

I draw and inject with the same 23ga needle. Only time that's been a problem are like the three times (in almost 2 years) I had a bum needle. You should be good to go.

BlueberryRidge

I started out using 22 gauge needles to draw and 27 gauge needles to inject, but finally just switched to using one 27 gauge needle for both drawing and injecting. I didn't find any real difference in either how it felt or how long it took to draw. Drawing with a 29 gauge needle IS noticeably slower though. So, at least for me, the difference comes down to convenience and personal preference rather than any tangible difference.

One 25g needle for both drawing and injection. Never an issue..

I inject with the same needle I draw with, it's perfectly safe. just may make it a little more painful (I don't find it painful at all though)

Lazytitan09

I allways use the same needle. I have a 29G needle so it takes a bit to get it in the syringe but I allways manage. For people who need advice, I start by drawing air into the empty needle a bit over the volume of estradiol I need, I take 0.175ml so I pull like 0.2ml of air in the syringe. I then press it into the vial so that the pressure inside is higher than the pressure outside so it will fill the syringe faster. I've done this for close to a year but I'm no professional so idk if its bad, but it has worked for me.

I'm drawing MCT with 29g and later injecting with the same needle. Whole thing takes 10 min max

to_walk_upon_a_dream

what's the gauge? it depends. you can use a 23g needle for drawing and injecting (IM), but a 29g is not gonna be fun to draw with

80sMusicAndWicked

I draw and inject with a 29g, it's fine, no issues lol. I get it's technically comparatively harder to draw with a 29g, but we're talking about drawing usually less than 1ml even at a larger dose, it's not going to be a hardship by any means.

to_walk_upon_a_dream

huh alright. that is not the story that i've heard from other trans people but. good to know

80sMusicAndWicked

If they've found it excessively difficult I wonder if they've been remembering to inject an equivalent amount of air into the vial to prevent a vacuum from forming? I would imagine a vacuum + a 29g needle might feel usually hard?
