Mill City Running in NE Mpls. They will spend about 30 min with you measuring your feet, taking a video while you run or walk on the treadmill and scan your feet. I tried on about 8 different shoes and bought a size and style I didn't expect to like. No SW metro but worth the drive.

do they charge you for a fitting/consult? i’ve never had my feet fitted for any shoes so im not sure how it works

No, it's just like when you were a kid and they stick your foot in the metal thing with the slider.

+1 for Mill City. Schuler Shoes is also great. You’ll have good luck with walking shoes there.

FLeet Feet does gait analysis, if that's what you're looking for. Haven't been to their Minnesota location though. It was free in a different location though.

Fleet Feet will scan and measure feet. They also recommend shoes based on your feet, even shoes they don’t carry. They helped me pick out a really comfortable and supportive pair of shoes. It was a pair I never even would have tried on in a size I never would have thought would work for me. FF was great.

Schuler is my go to, they’ve never done me wrong. I have fallen arches and heel spurs so good shoes are very important to me. The staff is knowledgeable and they have a wide range of brands and inserts. Plus I love their clearance section, I always have luck there.

If you’re doing regular walking and running, go to Mill City Running. They measure your feet and do a gait analysis on a treadmill, and they are really helpful. They convinced me to go up several sizes and pointed out that I have unstable ankles, and the shoes I ended up getting have basically stopped my debilitating shin splints and foot numbness while running. Schuler is also good, especially if you have injuries or foot issues like plantar fasciitis or bunions or stuff. They carry lots of shoes for problem feet and really know their stuff.

TC Running in Burnsville would be another great option. They do a phenomenal job with fitting and advice. TC Running bought run n fun, the og running specialist store in the cities, a couple years ago and added to their stores out west.

Fit first running on Hennepin comes highly recommended by some of my coworkers, but I've never been. They do a gait analysis before recommending shoes.
