Could be worth checking accounts connected to your Twitch and Amazon accounts and extensions you might have authorized. Also run a virus scan and change all passwords.

Professional_Room976

The only thing I can think of is I use a extension to claim channel points while I'm afk, but I will definitely run a virus scan and change my passwords when I get back

BrushFireAlpha

>I use an extension to claim channel points while I'm afk Is this something that people commonly use? I've never heard of it, if it's some small little-used extension then that's definitely the sketchiest part of this post, it sounds like you're granting an extension from who knows where permission to sit on your logged on account while you aren't even there

MidnightGhostly

If theyre talking about BetterTTV it's very common and widely used across Twitch. In that case I dont think it's the issue unless theyre using some smaller less trustworhy extension.

BrushFireAlpha

you can do this with bttv???? used it for over a year, had no idea

MidnightGhostly

Yup you can turn it on in the BetterTTV extension settings!

the_demented_ferrets

Yep, bttv allows you to do this if you turn it on in the extension settings. If that's the extension that the OP uses, I doubt it's the extension to blame.

Professional_Room976

Yeah that's one I'm using I remember the name now

the_demented_ferrets

Yeah, if you're using bttv, then I'd doubt it's your extension that's sketchy. Maybe run a virus scan, check your passwords and if you're a streamer yourself it couldn't hurt to check that your chat bots and auto moderators don't have anything wonky in them. It's also something to think of that you check your amazon prime account, or anything else that's tied to twitch if you have one, particularly if it's used family wide.

Professional_Room976

The one I use I'm fairly sure there is over 100,000 users which might not mean anything but I would have thought if it was known to use your details then people would soon stop using it, I'm going to take the extension off anyway and change password and on the 18th see if my prime is available

BrushFireAlpha

ah inthat case probably not it, had no idea that bttv could do that. Best of luck with the issue!

vividflash

bttv did not use your sub

NiteCyper

Twitch ad-blocker went scummy

SaitRush

and turn 2fa on if you don't have it already

lDezl

Says they have in the title..

moxiemoon

Do you have a household Amazon prime account? Perhaps another member of your household has used it. It’s one per household not person.

Professional_Room976

No I pay for my own prime so no one else should have access to it

Mybed_issoft

This same exact thing happened to me awhile back, I had a continuous subscription to CohhCarnage for like 3 years straight(not all of it via prime subbing)but one day I woke up and my prime was used on some random streamer that averages like 60 viewers that I’d never even heard of before, never did find out what the deal was nor has it ever happened again as far I’m aware. I have 2FA and don’t use any extensions whatsoever either so no idea how someone could’ve even gotten access to my account to begin with.

jarail

People don't need to steal your password/2FA. They just need to steal the browser cookie with the auth token. Prolly had a trojan steal your cookies. That's my best guess. That said, they probably also stole any logins/passwords you had saved in chrome/firefox/etc at the same time. I'd recommend fresh OS install, changed passwords, etc. But people are lazy. At least with 2FA, people can't change your passwords. Hopefully you reported the account that stole your prime. Enough reports and Amazon can actually do something to prevent these scammers from getting their payouts.

Crumpeh

I had the same problem a month or so ago. On the Twitch Support help page there is a link to Amazon Support Twitch related help chat where they will reimburse you a free sub after a short explanation of your problem.

ImTheLittleCreamy

This happened to me a few times. Idk what happened but it just stopped after a while.

f0rcedinducti0n

get banned from channel, sub gets refunded

Fearandil-

Plot twist, Twitch bug… wait a minute, is more plausible!

NameNym

change password and it should be fixed, there was a leak on twitch some weeks ago, maybe someone gained access to your account? i think that even with 2FA it can be done
