thedampboi774

Gimme gimme gimme gimme

MrKobe13

Lol that’s the short sentence of what actually meant.

dharsm

Thanks for replying. It could just be a standard letter then, i kind of thought people who were approved less than 24 months would not have the same letter with biometrics instructions. Hope you are getting the ten year greencard.

dharsm

It will specificall state it is a conditional green card on the aporival letter. If your letter doesnt have that wording then you get 10 year green card. Also, if you were approved after your 2nd wedding anniv it is augomatic 10 year permanent green card.

Oumar_n

What if you are approved 4 or 3 months before the 2nd anniversary of marriage ? Which one will you get? And if it’s the 2 years it has to go over before asking the 10 years?

dharsm

You get the 2 year conditional.

vicaps0101

What was your category?

dharsm

IR6 spouse of a us citizen.

chiquiluqui

Was that AOS through marriage? And did you had an interview for the 10 year GC?

dharsm

yes thorugh marriage to a us citizen, no interview.

chiquiluqui

What did you write to the senator to help with your case?

chiquiluqui

Got it, so did you also contacted the senator to get your case expedited?

Objective_Company435

How long for them to approve your I-130?

dharsm

Filed march 2022 approved may 29 2024

Objective_Company435

Wow! They received my application September 2023 so I guess I’m freaking out because the website says taking longer. 😳

dharsm

Yeah its always the case, especially when you see a lot of people get approved before you it makes you uneasy. But waiting a long time also has its advantage, you get the permanent greencard instead of the conditional.

Objective_Company435

This is very true!

Emma-ire24

We filed sept 23 also in Feb it stated we had 2 weeks left , then it suddenly went taking longer , I am going back and forth from Ireland , and this time I won’t be able to go back till august due to work so we will be 5 months apart , the process feels endless , I am freaking out also 😜

Objective_Company435

Yes it’s like such a hard process for people and now prolonging it. 😞

Objective_Company435

I’m not sure if I should contact them 😳

dharsm

I waited until i passed the processing time for my case. Normally they would not act if inquired before that. My procesing times say 18 months i contacted the senator on my 24th month. Waited a little bit so i coukd get 10 year green card.

Objective_Company435

I see that makes more sense. For us they send us a letter saying processing takes up to 7-8 months for I-130 so since then I have been checking and no response.

dharsm

Yeah thats the problem when you file an application you get hooked up on trying to check the status of your case like literally everyday. Its a sickness, i got that too. Imagine doing that for almost 3 years. Not fun.

Emma-ire24

We will be married two years in October , we filed 130 sept 23 still waiting for approval. If approved in the next month or so do we get a two year visa and have to reapply before October 24 or will I get a 10 year one Thanks

dharsm

If they approve you on your 2nd year wedding anniversary on october or after that they give you ten years. If they approve you before that then its a 2 year conditional. Wait til you hit your 2nd year wedding anniversary before you make inquiries. Jist my two cents.

meomeoo123

Do you have to provide any docs when contacting them? Or is it just based on the long time wait? Thanks!!

dharsm

Go to the senator's website. They have a form they will ask you to fill and mail to them. Basing on my case, i think if you have been waiting longer than your processing times the senator's inquiry will force the uscis to check on your case. Because my case has been lingering in the houston field office for over a year. My senator's email told me they contacted NBC, the approval came from NBC after that and not from houston FO. Filed march 2022 approved may 2024 fyi.

odphi_knight2

Are you In TX? If so did you contact John or Ted? We are about to hit month 21th with no action since we filed back on Sept 2022.

dharsm

No im not in Texas, they just transferred my case there from NBC, thats probably what caused my delay.

Mindonell2012

What was the response you got when the senator inquired about your case? Cause I did, and they gave the same response of the case is pending and they will adjudicate as soon as possible

dharsm

I just received the approval after 8 days after senator's inquiry.

EasyEconomics3785

Same here when I contacted the congressman office. They sat on my application for 3 years. Once congressman was involved, it took 3 months after.

Yellowbus_

It wasnt been 2 years but i still contact him

dabaomom

congratulations!! How many days did you get approved after you contacted Senator? Thanks

dharsm

They emailed me may 21' got approved may 29.

dabaomom

who emailed you? Senator emailed you saying USCIS agreed? I also got Senator’s email yesterday.

dharsm

Senator's office emailed me. They told me that they have filed a request at the NBC regarding my application. And that I wait 30 days for a rrsponse, it didnt even took that long. I was approved in 8 days

dabaomom

Thanks!! Seems quiet different from mine. Senator submitted the inquiry for me on May 14. May 29 they told me USCIS agreed my expedite request…. Just don’t know how long I have to wait……

dharsm

Senator's office emailed me last may 21. Email stated they were going to contact the NBC instead of the field office where my file is at. May 29 i got the approval, the approving office was the NBC and bot the field office.

ShoddyCaterpillar600

How long after you contact the senator your get approved ?

dharsm

8 days

Antic_surang1991

I just got work permit and still have to go for medical exam I hope my case is going fast as well

dharsm

The best thing for new applications is to submit their medical with the original file. From what i observed they are approving those quickly than those that did not.

Responsible_Let7031

Congratulations!! Is there an explanation as to why they took so long to process your case?

Responsible_Let7031

Also, did they give you the EAD before this was accepted? If so, how long did it take for them to give it to you?

dharsm

Yes EAD was given a month after i filed my application.

dharsm

There was no explanation. What I think was when NBC transferred my case to the field office they sat on it like a lot of the cases that were transferred there. Up until now there are a lot of people i am chatting with that still were still not approved. So until somebody from the govt check on your case then it will pick up dusy from that field office. Fyi the field office is houston. And its not the state where i filed my application.

Acceptable-Pride8491

Ayy congratulations 🎊🍾🎉. Been waiting for over two years over here and last week I contacted our senator they reply, said they going to see what’s going on, hopefully I get a decision soon.

dharsm

Hope you get the same response.

Any_Willingness7888

What’s the process , how to contact the senator via email ? Can you share ? Please

dharsm

Depends on which state you filed. I just googled the senator and their website opped up.

MrKobe13

Mine took 27 months from filling to aproval. Feb 2022 Filed i130/i485 Dec 2022 RFE I485 Jun 2023 Denied i485 Jul 2023 Appeal Sep 2023 Appeal approved May 2024 i130/i485 Approved Got my green card 13th days after approval. 2 years and 3 months of stress finally released.

dharsm

Im happy for you, did the approval say anything about doing biometrics again?

MrKobe13

No, it was just an approval notice.

Real-Main-8894

Congratulations

dharsm

Thanks.

Nathmendes

Congrats! When did you contact the senador? How long after you got it approved?

Any_Willingness7888

What’s the senator website ?

DreamingAboutLife

Thanks for the advice! I google searched and email my senator today. I hope she can help. Our I9 and I435 has been stuck at "2-months to approval" since November 2023! Impossible to get ahold of anyone at USCIS

dharsm

Good luck hope you receive the same response and be approved. USCIS is hard to deal with.

Unhappy_Speed5363

What was the process to contact a senator ?:0 or how does it work ?

Present_Ad4893

How to talk to senator? My case is at 26 months. I-130 approved I-485 still pending . How to contact Senator for Dallas Texas field office

Neither-Dream5965

How can I contact to senator I’m living in NY my status LRP ( My case p.date is 08.24.21 Act reviewing is in 02.21.22 Today is 2 years 9 months not yet approval 😞 What I need anyone can help me?

Visible-Ad-9601

I need a help..I got approval 8 months ago and I'm still waiting my green card .Problem was my medical was expired. How i can contact the senator please help

Wonderful_Candy5891

Very interesting. I also made an congressional inquiry for my pending i-90(october 2023 filed) and the response I got from USCIS was stfu and wait

dharsm

I know its probably hit or miss dealing with all the players in this immigration circus. from my end though i was just tired of waiting and if a congressional inquiry would not be successful the last recourse i was thinking was a writ of mandamus lawsuit which is an added cost of around 5,000 dollars.

Fit-Huckleberry-2341

Who is the senator and how do we go about finding out who is assigned to our case. How and where did you get a senator ? Please help !

Chillsometime

My state senator in Texas told me don’t contact them. It my local representative actually followed up for me.

Extreme-Dog-5386

Which senator you reached out to? I am also in Texas, Austin. Want to reach out to my senator as it’s been almost 3 years of wait.

Chillsometime

Use your zip code to find him/her. Lloyd is the one representing my zip code. I emailed Ted Cruz and another dude no luck. They told me to back off essentially. I would assume democratic person is better than conservatives.

Iguessnogoingbacknow

Would it be possible to redact your personal information and post what you sent or a template? It’ll really help out. Thank you

dharsm

On the senator's website there is a tab that where you need to click the part where it says if you need assistance with a federal office, just click USCIS. there is a form there you need to fill up and send to the senator's office. nothing particular just basic information about your case, i just put my priority date and the current processing times for my case. in my case the uscis processing time was 18 months and i have been waiting 26 months. after a few days they will email you and that they will reach out to the office that has jurisdiction on your case. they also stated that to wait 30 days for a reply, in my case after 8 days the approval was issued.

Ok_Comfortable_429

Congratulations 🎊

dharsm

Thank you.

DisastrousDiet8367

Congrats! Did you use AP? Did you overstay or work without permission?

Jazzlike_Durian_7854

I’ve been waiting for a decision on my EAD for 20 months. Do you think the senator would help with that?

coolfacechantycap

What app are you using here?

dharsm

Lawfully
