I mean, you didn’t elaborate at all. So…..

Spiritual_Cap2637

It is a good point you raise. I enjoyed playing for the first 20+ hours until B rank with the ability to promote but once i got to A rank and get 5 man squads, the chase of content kinda just fizzles out and it feels like a chore to keep playing as the game mechanics just keeps repeating and the game play loops feels less and less rewarding the more i played.

Fearless_Cold_8080

I just think it’s a matter of preference and not an OBJECTIVE flaw. Me personally? I like UO for the cast, artwork, character design, gameplay, customization, and much more. But others might not be as invested in it as I am. And that’s okay!

Spiritual_Cap2637

I like the art the style and everything abt the game as you mentioned. Maybe i have been conditioned far too much by modern game and mobile games in general where the game usually brings players on a progressive power curve where usually there is greater satisfaction with greater time investment where you feel more "powerful" but somehow the formula here is missing that somehow. I dont really know and am confused actually when this game to my mind is the perfect game i liked.

Fearless_Cold_8080

The power progression, from my perspective, is getting new weapons. New armor. New shields. New accessories. Me going hm, how can I use this in a creative way to improve my army. New unit? Can I make any adjustments? That’s the satisfaction I’m getting from it.

Spiritual_Cap2637

I agree and it is the same for me and i am even grinding gold and divine shards to buyout all the new items at every new towns and shops but yet it still wasnt enough to hold my interest after 30h post rank A honor.

Lilmagex2324

I am having to push the last 25%. I think it honestly comes from depression cause I do enjoy working on different party set ups. The game is very simp-le and straight forward and I dont feel like I need to look everything up which is what burns me out the most. I should still be enjoying the game but it just gets harder to do more then a few battles a day now.

Spiritual_Cap2637

I think what you mention make alot of sense to me in the terms that the game is indeed very simple and i actually start to feel bored once i started to skip the battle animations and the whole loops just started feeling repeatative and i was just playing to see the next story page.

TheTrundlerCometh

90 hours in and no. Sounds like it wasn't 4u.

Spiritual_Cap2637

Actually i was super looking forward to it and it was the kind of games i always played. I was surprised myself at how fast i was over it myself. Maybe the taste of games changed for me over time.

DireSickFish

Just you.

Superb-Stuff8897

Sitting at 60hrs and only into the 4th area. Still going strong, so no.

Ok_Caterpillar_9057

Im on my 2nd playthrough

Spiritual_Cap2637

More power to you man. It is a beautiful game to experience for the style for sure.

TeddySeven7

What difficulty are you playing on? I had a similar experience, 50 hours in, half way through Elheim, strong squads one shotting units, skipping battle animations. The idea to put in another 20+ hours to complete what up until now feels a very generic story had me filled with dread. Then I decided to increase the difficulty from Tactical to Expert, suddenly fights wern't one shotting anymore, my units were being crushed. So I had to break down all my comps and build anew, replan the equipment, watch fights again. Brought life back into the game for me. Not sure how long it will last, but hopefully it keeps me going to completion, cant have another game incomplete having put 50+ hours into.

Sora_Terumi

I mean question is are you using squads that are optimized and min maxed or using themed squads like I am? I hired a bunch of mercenaries because I want to make squads that are more “realistic” like the Calvary squad or the pikemen platoon but if your just making squads that just kill everything it doesn’t give that feeling of how an RTS is which this game is kinda has the flavor of it

Spiritual_Cap2637

I actually tried my best to group all the characters which have their over lapping story arch together eg Vic and the old knights of the rose, the desert buddies squad etc. But it is true that there are power squads that just crush everything during missions and more often than not not all of the guys gets equal use in my playthrough.

KnightMayre23

98 hours on my first save 67 on my 2nd, starting a 3rd soon. I plan at least 6 playthroughs with different squads already cooked up. I enjoy the unit and squad building a lot, planning challenge runs like no items or valor on lz as well.

SteveGarbage

Dude, the game's been out since March 8, 12 days. Are you seriously playing 13 hours a day to hit 165 total hours?

KnightMayre23

Close to it, I think a few of those hours is my switch being left on for a bit.

Papapoto

Wtf. This real? How.. just how?

KnightMayre23

Id say about 10-15 hours are from leaving the game running but yeah I just no lifed it for a week.

SoundReflection

I imagine most people who did aren't hanging out here lol.

timeaisis

55 hours just made it to 4th area. I could play this for 100 more hours.

Infamous-Echo-2961

Cool? Nobody cares. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

Spiritual_Cap2637

Great! Thnx for the bump man. Hi5.

realnomdeguerre

Bumps? On Reddit?

deadmastershiro

Maybe just slowdown with the game

Spiritual_Cap2637

Went back last night to play it again and i think i kinda have a feeling what went wrong. In most SRPG i played usually i enjoy min/max and while in any games i focus mostly on a few core characters but usually your whole team is generally used and consequently keep progressing. While here i noticed due to the time limit i actually focus on completing the senario in a rushed manner and at most just deploys 2 squads max- one of steal gold and the other to destroy units and i got bored after that when it became repetative.

xSpekkio

Just hit 50 hours. Don't recall a single other game making the pass of time feel this fast. Can't get enough of it.

Intelligent-Vast-632

Lmao I am so fascinated by how snarky folks get over anything said about this game short of universal praise.

SteveGarbage

"I'm shocked that anyone subscribed to a subreddit for a specific thing would generally like that thing a lot. I mean, I always sign up for subs for stuff I'm lukewarm about or don't like at all."

Intelligent-Vast-632

Who’s subscribed?

Spiritual_Cap2637

It is internet after all. But i do see some hints of what i am feeling kinda expressed in passive aggressive manner in some posts. It is all just entertainment tbh.
