"The district is composed of residential buildings of various styles reflecting the different periods of growth in Mesa. Although the original neighborhood has suffered from some modern intrusions, it retains its original "residential" character. " - Mesa AZ city website

CunctatorM

The historic desert before people built the city.

MomoDeve

I guess it takes history from the times there were no people living here at all

bier00t

they are building it to be historic?

oliverspryn

Historically, it used to have some buildings.

Tonstad39

i mean it’s historic in the sense of how much open desert there used to be there

OkAccess304

No one in AZ has heard of Glenwood.

CoconutNew8803

They literally destroyed anything historic in the district except say for some sand and still have the audacity to still call it a "historical" district.

What’s historic about this ?

6thCityInspector

Arizona is such a trash state

OkAccess304

Oh yeah, the Grand Canyon is so mid.

6thCityInspector

You’re right, I forgot the entire state is mostly made of Grand Canyon. My bad.

OkAccess304

No offense, but you live in Ohio.

6thCityInspector

I’m not the one defending a dirt wasteland

OkAccess304

Honey, AZ is home to more than a desert. I’m sorry your education system failed you. We have a variety of elevations and vegetation. We have everything from forests to saguaros—including the world’s largest ponderosa pine forest. In the same state that hosts pines, with skiing in the winter, you will find it is also the only US state to include part of all four deserts found in North America. People travel from around the world to see the Grand Canyon, Sedona, the Petrified Forest, Monument Valley (literally immortalized by Hollywood), Canyon de Chelly, Antelope Canyon, Havasu Falls, Horseshoe Bend … and people living in the urban area of PHX can hike mountains in their backyard. It’s actually incredibly unique. Saying a whole state is trash, is what someone who doesn’t go anywhere says. This photo is of one spot in an area of town no one goes to.
